I have been eating at Pinocchios since we first moved to Longmont a few years ago, when they were still on Main. Their food has never failed to please! Everything about our experience was wonderful. We went to the Longmont location. Service was great. My husband's minestrone soup was fantastic; as well as my Cesar salad which had just the right amount of dressing, cheese, and croutons. He ordered the Gnocchi with meatballs and I had the angel hair promodoro w/ shrimp and it all came out perfectly. The breadsticks were wonderful too. I'm surprised by the mixed reviews because my fiancé and I really enjoy dining at this place. The food isn't knockout amazing, but it's consistently well above average. The veal Parmesan in particular is excellent and a household favorite. I've tried three or four other dishes, such as the linguini with clam sauce and the chicken Marsala, and they were also tasty. The ambiance is romantic and relaxing, and I've never had a bad experience with the service. I like the presentation and appreciate that they serve bread with balsamic and vinegar, as well as salad or soup with your entree, and I feel like everyone's very friendly whenever we drop in. I really want to like this place. Really. We've been there twice. The first time, the meal was really good. Service was good. I only ate half of my meal so, when I asked for a box, the server told me she would pack it up for me. Nice. I've had hat done for me before. Paid the bill, went home. The next morning, I'm craving my left overs. I open up my box and, sun of gun. It's not my food. Couldn't even tell you what it was, only what it wasnt. And it wasn't mine. Totally bummed. My second here, food was meh. Service was nice tho. I was in the company of a few close friends and not even thinking when, the server offered to pack up my food. My parents are visiting from out of town and were in the mood for Italian food. We decided on Pinocchio's, and, let's just say it was so good we decided to go back again the next night. Here's just some of what we loved so much: The ingredients were fresh. The flavors were bold but not overpowering. The serving sizes were ample, with plenty of chicken in the fettuccini alfredo and the right amount of sauce and veggies in the pasta primavera (no oily residue at the bottom of the plate is a huge plus!). Went here to eat with my sister and the food was absolutely amazing! I got pesto chicken gnocchi and it was delicious and filling and got to take the second half home to eat later. I feel really bad about giving such a poor review. The people who waited on us were very nice. Unfortunately, the meal was not worth the price :( The lasagna tasted as though it was previously frozen and warmed in a microwave. The salad dressing tasted that though it came out of the can. The garlic bread was not edible. The lemon cake was so bad you had to spit it out. The pizza did turn out ok, but that is something hard to mess up. I hope that I caught them at a bad time. However, I won't ever be going again. I honestly feel like throwing up after eating this food. It would be a great place for the last meal of an employee you wish to fire. read more

No fan of this restaurant for breakfast. The service was abysmal, primarily due to a lack of staff. Our server was friendly but not too efficient when we were lucky enough to have her notice us. The food would typically be described as average at best, but since most everything was overcooked and/or burnt, I have to say it was edible but not enjoyable. I have eaten at Pinocchio's a lot over the years, I first found them when they were on Main street next to Mike O'Shays. Back then, they were warm and friendly and had hot delicious food. It seems as if places decline in quality and customer service after they expand. I called in to order lunch to go, the women on the phone was pleasant and very nice. When I get there, the women at the counter gives me the bill and the food and says "Oh just so you know, we don't do lunch to go, if you do it again you might catch some grief." Right...like that statement wasn't grief.... 1.If you don't do lunch to go, then do not say "yes" when I ask to place an order to go. 2. I have done this several times and nobody has ever mentioned anything. 3. Who says that to a paying customer? Even if that is not their policy, they should have kept quiet and just not take anymore lunch orders to go. I felt it was rude, even though the woman was quite nice. 4. My food was cold and not even heated, even the bread was hard and very cold. 5. They messed the order up and put meatballs in a dish I had asked for without meatballs (it happens, I understand, but the place was dead, maybe one other customer in there) 6. They didn't put the lid on right and marinara spilled all through the bag and only a DROP got on my car seat. YEAH BOY! :( Never eating here again. And the marinara sauce is watery and bland. I've dined at Pinocchio's three times now - twice for dinner and today for lunch. Accessible location, plenty of parking, the decor is along the lines of a traditional Italian restaurant, with the red and white checkered tablecloths. It's comfortable. The service is great. Everything is great, except the entrees I've tried - each time I've ordered a different pasta dish and have not been impressed with any of them. The descriptions sound really great on the menu, but nothing to rave about after having a few bites. There are other places in town and the surrounding area where I'd prefer to dine when I'm in the mood for Italian food. read more

Excellent Live music every Wednesday evening. Yeah Annie! I love Pinocchio's. I have taken several friends there and they are always able to find something the like. I am in a rut.... I love the balsamic chicken sandwich which I have it on greens. The absolute best balsamic dressing I have had. The salad is always fresh. I mean always. They also have many things I have enjoyed. It is often hard to decide. Rochelle always loves the chicken picatta. Cheri always loves the meatballs and spaghetti. Ashley loves the tortellini alfredo. Annie makes all the desserts fresh from scratch. She will make them special order. I had them for a special event and I received many rave reviews about her cakes. Carlos is the Manager and waiter and is always friendly and efficient. I believe they have breakfast on the weekends only. This is about the 4th year I have enjoyed Pinocchio's. I am looking forward to the new location. They have live jazz guitar on Wednesday evenings. Pinocchio's is another small place in Longmont that is often overlooked. I've had 3-4 meals here and the menu is full of tasty meals that make me want more. On weekend, there is live music and since the place is small, every seat is a great seat. Go there and enjoy a taste of Italy! read more

I second that vote for the spinach artichoke dip. And O'Shay's is hard to beat. I went to Pinnochio's a couple of times at their old location on Main St. Once I was happy, but the other time was Mothers Day brunch in '08 and the service was horrible. However, I just last week went to the new location and was impressed with their "small" Italian sausage sandwich. It's a great crunchy roll filled with spicy sausage, sauteed peppers, melted mozzarella and some marinara (great sandwich but accompanied by Sun Chips). The salad was nice. Bread sticks... limp strips of dough. Service prompt. Then I ordered takeout the other night- sandwich again, and lasagna. The lasagna portion was certainly small. For $12 I expected more. And it wasn't very stable- fell apart into a soupy puddle in the container. But all-in-all if you know what to order it's yummy and good bang for your buck. read more

I'd give 2.5 stars if it was possible. We came in on a Friday evening. We were greeted promptly and told it was a 15-20 minute wait. Less than 10 minutes later we were seated. I was immediately thrown off because we weren't given a wine/drink menu. This seems counter intuitive for any restaurant let alone an Italian restaurant!! We ordered water to drink and it took quite some time to get our waters. We then ordered the pepperoni rolls as an appetizer. We ordered our entrees before receiving our appetizer. It took at least 15-20 minutes to get our appetizer. It was delicious though and the marinara was beautifully robust with acidic tomatoes. The breadsticks were fresh but relatively flavorless. I upgraded to the spinach salad and I am SOOO glad I did. It was truly delicious!!!! My boyfriend ordered the veal parmesan. Sadly this was lacking seasoning and i was unimpressed with the pasta. I odered the chicken tiamo. I know why they call it the house favorite. The sauce was very well seasoned. It came out piping hot. We finally ordered the tiramisu and canollis for dessert. Loved the presentation of the tiramisu! Overall: Our server wasn't very attentive. I was very disappointed about not getting the wine menu. Yes, I could have asked for it but I shouldn't have to. Not to mention the server didn't suggest wine either. Each course took awhile. The spinach salad and the chicken tiamo will have me coming back though. read more

Time of visit: around 1PM (heat was gettting fixed at our place). I think it was us and one other couple when we arrived, by the time we left there were about another four tables filled. Parking: Plenty, it is in with Ulta, Dick's Sporting Goods, etc. It is on the end closest to Walgreens. Service: Perfectly fine. She kept my large husband's drinks filled and didn't bother us. Decor: Eh, don't worry about dressing in your finest here. Set up is a little odd with free standing shelving units that divide the dinning area. Two top tables seem incredibly small. Not a huge sitting area, but reasonable -maybe, on a very rough guess, 20 tables in the main area. Tiny bar (we are talking some people may have a larger bar in their basement...) Food: Fried artichokes with a spicy sauce - okay. We really liked the dipping sauce Tortellini alfredo with sundried tomatoes and added chicken had a nice thick sauce, not that moderately runny stuff from Olive Garden -very happy with it. It is a reasonably sized portion and reeks of garlic so get out your tongue scraper when you get home because your co-workers are gonna hate you tomorrow! Comes with a good sized salad on a plate made of green lettuce, red cabbage shreds, red pepper, shredded carrot and one smaller sized breadstick (no tomato). Ceasar salad is $1 more - about $14 Calzone combo - Ingredients are fresh. Husband had one with sausage (slices), pepperoni, green peppers, red onion. This comes out like a flat bottomes round ball so it looks different.There was no ricotta, which we thought was odd so we figure that it should be called a stromboli. I hate ricotta so I was happy! The menu just states "cheese." We couldn't figure out where the spice was coming from (we think the marinara but we really liked it. Salad - see above - about $9?? Restrooms: Down the hall past the tiny bar. You can see into the kitchen (odd). Ladies room: two stalls. Larger stall has a bench. Nothing fancy here - clean. What will throw you off - the myriad of soaps on the left side of the sink and the equal amount of lotions on the right side. Seems like someone either hits up the sales at Ulta or is running over to Ross and Marshall's across the street for their stuff. read more

Ate here a year ago and it was quite good would have given it 4 stars then. Came back last night and still found it to be 4 stars. Wait service was good, attentive, but not hovering. We had a party of 5 and they got all the orders (drinks, apps and meals) correct. On the topic of drinks, don't know if the bartender was feeling generous that night but the pours were on the "I pour like that at home" side. Ordered the Caramelized onion and Asiago Ravioli found it to be very good, just the right combination of spice, sweet and creamy. Everyone else said that they really liked the food. I was planning our small office holiday party and Pinocchio's was able to accommodate our group of 15 with relative ease a week in advance. While we were seated immediately in accordance with our reservation, it took about 45 minutes to get anything that resembled food to the table. Let's hear it for the bread and drinks! We just got take out from Pnocchio's and I have to say we were really impressed! I got the lasagna with meatballs and my wife got the Pinocchio's ravioli. Both meals come with a house salad and homemade bread sticks. The salads were fresh and the homemade balsamic vinaigrette was certainly one of the better I've had. The bread sticks had the feel of miniature baguettes, but not quite as crusty, quite good as many bread sticks are overly heavy, greasy and bland. The meals were excellent from the takeout container, so you know they will be even better in the restaurant. The lasagna was cheese but not overly so and the meatballs were light and very flavorful. The marinara sauce on smothering the layers of noodles was tart, sweet and full of flavor, very tasty to me. The cheese ravioli came with a cream sun dried tomato cream sauce with nice slices of chicken folded in. The sauce was full of cream, complex flavor which carried over very nicely into the also flavorful chicken. I would definitely recommend this place and we look forward to having a meal inside the restaurant next time. mmmmmmm! read more

Pinocchio's was a surprising find for weekend brunch - it's in a newish shopping center and was not crowded at all on a Saturday morning. Our waitress and the service were great, and as with most things in Longmont, the prices were very reasonable. You have to get the breakfast burrito - it's humongous and great for sharing, and is definitely one of the best. The omelets are also quite good and are available made with egg whites if you prefer that route. We had a coupon for a free pastry/bread basket, so we took advantage of that. It was good, but I don't know if I would have paid for it. Coffee was good and was refilled often; decor is really unique and cute, and the space is clean and bright. read more

Well according to the reviews we must have hit a good nite. Our service was exceptional and food was very good. Started with the artichoke dip with bread. A nice creamy dip with great taste. The wine was as the menu said a velvet finish it was nice Pinot noir. The main course came and the flavors just kept coming. The sign out front says "simply incredible Italian" Like Pinocchio, they are not truthful, it's bearable, but far from incredible! We sat for 10 min to get any attention, the wine was ho-hum, food bland, and generally ambience very average. In my opinion, they need to drop prices to match the food quality and ambience. Our waitress was young and clearly wanted to do a good job, but it was pretty clear she didn't have any real training and no one was stepping up to help her. The service suffered for it. Been here several times - the wait staff is very attentive an the meals are quite good. Last time I was there, when they brought out the salads, the waiter asked our little girl if she would like her spaghetti right then so she didn't have to wait for food while we ate. She loved that! Drinks stayed replenished and food came out quickly - but no so quick that you couldn't sit back and enjoy the company and ambience. I do recommend sitting in the more open section of the restaurant (east side). It's quieter there and the tables are more spaced out so you don't feel as scrunched as in the west side. read more
