I spoke to one agent, then made an appointment to have calls with others. The Cal Agents called me, and in less than a minute I realized it was someone from a Philippine call center. What a slap in the face. Outsourcing is a hot button issue, and I will NEVER share personal information with someone overseas, but also: WHY? Are they too busy for a two minute call to make that connection? Introduce themselves? Answer relevant questions? And perhaps MOST CLOYING: is this the same company that employs those same call centers to make masked cold calls asking to buy our property? HARD PASS.

Mrs. Zelinsky and her entire…read morestaff are amazingly professional, competent, and driven to help their tenants be as competitive as possible. I have had other commercial property landlords before, and have never seen anything like Zelinsky's drive to go the extra mile -- anticipating, not merely reacting to tenant's needs. Zelinsky sponsors multiple events each year on Ark Row to draw customers, and places full page ads in the local paper supporting their tenants. They also maintain signage to draw customers from lower Main Street and have a cost-effective parking validation program. Her Operations Manager is available via cell phone and is usually on-site that day to help solve any facility problems. Their gardeners are constantly watering and maintaining the planted areas to keep Ark Row looking attractive and cared for. Mrs. Zelinsky does set a high standard for which shops she will accept, but once you are in, she makes your success her personal mission. Her high standards are reflected in the condition of the buildings and common areas. Her Office Manager, Patrice is very protective of Mrs. Zelinsky's time, and may be offputting to solicitors trying to get to her, but she is perfectly professional and helpful to those whose business purpose is clear and in line with Zelinsky Properties. I really cannot say enough good of this company. If you have the opportunity to lease from them, take it!

I had a horrific experience with Marshall & Co…read more Property Management (specifically working with Sarah Jainchill and Dakota from Laguna Vista Apartments in Tiburon) that felt discriminatory from the very beginning. When I initially inquired about an apartment, Sarah wouldn't even let me fill out an application the moment I mentioned I had a Section 8 voucher. They only came back to me after their other applicants backed down. After waiting an entire month to move in with my family, I arrived at the move in inspection to a complete nightmare. The listing explicitly promised "New beige waffle weave carpet to be installed in all bedrooms" and "luxury vinyl flooring." In one bedroom, management left sharp debris and trash all over the floor from a recent window or paint repair, completely unvacuumed. Dakota explicitly lied to my face, claiming the new carpets were to be taken care of by move in date, only to later shift the blame entirely onto Sarah. The bedroom carpets were never replaced. Instead, the apartment was delivered completely filthy and in the exact same neglected state as when I first viewed it. the appliances in the unit are severely neglected and broken and need replacement. The kickplate at the bottom of the dishwasher was broken and poorly masked with a large piece of red tape. It completely fell apart upon inspection and requires full replacement. Stove and oven was heavily rusted, caked in thick, old grease, and still contained dirty aluminum foil left behind by the previous tenant. The paint was peeling off the range hood from age and severe grease buildup, posing a fire and another health hazard. I noticed a thick, unsanitary buildup of dust and filth along the sides of the refrigerator. Furthermore, the unit had a cracked toilet seat covered in urine, a broken front door sweeper, broken thermostat, severe mirror rot, and cracked, lifting bathroom flooring. Most alarming of all, there was severe black water damage and suspected mold under the kitchen sink, a major health hazard for my kids. The place seemed as if it had not been cleaned in years!!! When I pointed these out, Dakota dismissed these health and safety issues as "cosmetic or minor maintenance matters." I even offered my own time to clean the unit a day early, but they refused to give me the keys for "liability purposes," yet expected my family to move into a filthy construction zone and live out of boxes until they could finally schedule carpet installers days later. Management showed zero empathy, never apologized, and tried to push me to sign the inspection sheet just to get the keys. Fortunately, I stood my ground, refused to sign, and immediately contacted the MHA, who backed me up completely to cancel the contract. Please beware of Marshall & Co. They misrepresented the property, lied about updates, and tried to force a family into a sub standard, unsafe apartment!
