Rib and grilled shrimp combo with sweet potato souflee and collard greens with corn bread

The food is really good here. From scratch homemade and delicious southern cooking and bbq. It is strictly take out and the only reason I dock one star is because the service can be very slow more often than not, especially at dinner times on Friday and Saturday. No online ordering so my only suggestion is to call ahead because they will answer the phone, even when there is a line backed up, which can be a little frustrating. As long as you're patient, it's worth the wait.

This is my first visit here. Pack on your patience. Even though the food is already cooked it's about a 15 minute wait. And, there's no dining in. Not because of COVID-19, it's a small venue. We ordered the smothered pork chops with cabbage and collards, mac and cheese, and slightly sweetened cornbread. The portions were enough for two ppl. The mac and cheese needs some work. It's like elementary school cafeteria style.

OMG Pinky's is the go to for great food in Calvert county Little strip mall in Owings, but don't let that fool you. Got pulled pork w 2 sides and fried pork chops w 2 sides PP off the hook as was fried PCs Side were candied yams, Mac n cheese, sweet potato soufflé and red beans and rice. Everything was perfect!! Also Popeyes got NOTHIN on pinky's red beans and rice!! Please patronize this Calvert gem!!

The fried catfish, shrimp, cornbread and Mac and cheese were perfect, and a little bit of vinegar on the collards and cabbage made it perfect

solid breakfast, dismayed that it was pre-prepared and served out of a buffet steam table. OK value, not many breakfast options in the area.

It was 4 PM when we arrived, wasn't very busy, so we decided to sit outside on the deck rather than inside. Each table has its own umbrella, which was nice because it did drizzle a little while we were eating. Our waitress was very nice and greeted us shortly after we sat down. She took our drink order. My wife had an iced tea, and I ordered the Upside Down Mule, a refreshing mix of Tito's, pineapple purée, and ginger beer. The drink was okay, but even though it was described as having pineapple purée, I really couldn't taste any pineapple. The funny thing was when I went to pick up the mug by the handle, the handle came right off! I mentioned it to our waitress, and she offered to get me a new cup, but I was fine using the cup without the handle. For dinner, my wife ordered the 1/2-pound shrimp, Baltimore style--onions, potatoes, Old Bay and butter, with an extra $3 charge. I ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake for $44, described as a fresh, no-filler jumbo lump crab cake. It came with fried Brussels sprouts and an additional side, which I chose as the Sweet Corn Summer Salad--charred sweet corn, confit tomato, fried black beans, roasted red pepper and cilantro over romaine lettuce, cotija cheese, creamy lime dressing and fried tortilla strips. I noticed that my salad had green peppers instead of red peppers. Since I cannot eat green peppers, I asked our waitress about it. She told me that was how it comes. However, the menu specifically says roasted red pepper, not green pepper. This is something the restaurant really needs to correct, either on the menu or with the kitchen, so someone doesn't order the dish expecting red peppers and end up with something they cannot eat. I caught it dyer my first bite eating. Then came another issue. My wife's dinner came out, but my meal wasn't ready. She waited for me, and I finally told her to go ahead and eat before her food got cold. About 10 minutes later, my meal finally came out. I don't understand why both meals didn't come out together. We weren't ordering crabs or something that would obviously come out when ready. We were ordering two regular dinner entrées, and the restaurant wasn't busy. Ten minutes is a long time between two meals, especially when one person is sitting there waiting while the other is eating. When my meal finally arrived, everything looked good, but I was disappointed with the size of the crab cake. For $44, and being listed as a dinner entrée rather than a sandwich, I expected a much larger crab cake. What makes this even more disappointing is that a picture of the dinner on their website shows two crab cakes, while the crab cake sandwiches pictured on the website were actually larger than the single crab cake I received with my dinner. I understand pictures can sometimes be for presentation purposes, but there was a pretty big difference between what I saw online and what was actually served. More importantly, the crab cake needed to be cooked a little longer. It should have had more browning on the outside not just shack some old bay on it, and the food needed to be hot. The crab cake was only warm, and even the Brussels sprouts were just lukewarm. The food itself had good flavor, but there were several things that need some cleaning up. $44 is a lot for a 4-ounce crab cake, especially when it isn't served hot and the Brussels sprouts are lukewarm. Overall, the meal was ok, but we expected more for the prices, we eat out a lot and don't mind paying for good food! The service was friendly, but the timing of the meals, the temperature of the food, the size of the crab cake, and the issue with the peppers are things the restaurant should address. And then charge 3% for a credit card fee and not even tell us. Would have been 4-5 stars without issues.

Crab soup was a 5. Delicious with chuck of crab. Fish Tacos a 5. Big, well seasoned fish with a corn salsa. Could have used more sauce. Crab cake was a 5. Choices are blackened, fried, or broiled. Went with broiled and it was excellent. Great cakes here with not too much filler. Fries and onion rings a 3. Nothing special. Orange crush. cocktails are a thing here. Refreshing for sure. We arrived around 6:30 PM and were surprised to see the parking lot pretty empty. We sat at the bar and were greeted quickly by the bartender, who took our drink order. Both of us ordered the Mrs. Maryland Club, which is made with shrimp salad, a crab cake, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. The sandwich arrived fairly quickly and looked good, but right away we noticed something seemed different from our last visit. The biggest disappointment was the size of the crab cake and amount of shrimp salad. The last time we were here, the crab cake covered the entire sandwich and shrimp salad was falling off the sandwich. It was one of the reasons we remembered it so fondly. This time, the crab cake was noticeably smaller just a little bigger than a golf ball the shrimp salad was just 7 baby shrimp and the chips I got maybe 12-15 chips and half of them were rubbery, overall the sandwich just didn't seem as substantial as we remembered. The little shrimp salad had good flavor, the bacon was cooked nicely, and everything tasted fresh. It just didn't live up to the memory of our previous visit, not worth $21 for sure. Service was friendly, and the food came out quickly. The atmosphere was relaxed, and as always, the waterfront location is a nice place to enjoy a meal. Overall, the Mrs. Maryland Club is still a good sandwich, but based on our experience, the portions seem to have gotten a lot smaller. We'll likely return again, but we hope to see the sandwich brought back to the size and quality that made it so memorable the first time.

It's in the same Plaza as the Amish market, so there's plenty of parking. I stepped inside and there were a couple of chairs for waiting along the window. Otherwise, it's a small open space and there are desserts on display, I'm in you to read, and very polite staff behind the counter. I decided to get the blackened salmon and shrimp entree with collard greens and mac and cheese. I got their salts at caramel banana pudding for dessert. I decided to use my insulated bag and wait until I got to my friend's house to eat. I love the shrimp and the salmon. They were seasoned well, but not to a point of tasting too salty, which can happen at a lot of soul food restaurants for me. Unfortunately, despite the good flavor, this was the case with the collard greens, whew. Also, there is turkey in there, so don't get it as a vegetarian option! The mac and cheese was good... Not sure where I would put it in my rankings, but I enjoyed it. That banana pudding.... Whoa. It was the perfect dessert, and I would happily get it again. The salted caramel and banana balance surprisingly well. Their top rankings are well deserved, and I am looking forward to trying their wings and other items next time!

The food looked delicious, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. My only disappointment was that they had run out of potato salad, which was the one thing I was craving! The mango lemonade was good too a little on the sweeter side so you definitely need some ice. The ambiance was okay, and while nothing really stood out about it, the prices were reasonable. I'd definitely go back and try a full platter next time. Overall, based on what I had, I'd say it's worth giving a try!
