I'm not sure what to say about Tulsa, OK. However, it is expensive here for no reason. Lol. No shade, it's a way of life which is different everywhere. Visiting Pinkitzel, I was so excited to see that they have cupcakes. I wanted a sweet treat that was just enough without overdoing it. When I walked into the very cute, we'll decorated and nicely organized shop, I was greeted by the cashier. As you walk in to your left is a cotton candy shelf, straight ahead is the cashier, macaroons, cupcakes, specialty chocolatea, ice cream and, to the right is all kind of bulk candy, modern and old fashioned candies. After walking around the shop that was nicely decorated, smelled good, and had a cute seating area in a bay window that looked out to the restaurants and other shops in the downtown Tulsa. I chose the cookies n'cream cupcake. So cute. The cupcake was moist and soft and had good flavor throughout the cupcake. The topping wasn't overbearing with being too much or too sweet. I've taken several photos of the shop and what it offers. After eating my cupcake, I went to look for goodies for my little one. When I went to pay, I was surprised to see how much I paid for two small items. To me, it was costly. Especially for one of them. I t was alright as they were gifts. This place is so interestingly decorated and I am here for it. I got to visit here whilst visiting my daughter. The young man that works here is amazing! The back room where the bathroom is is also beautiful. Looks like a party room. The smell in this place smells like candy and gets all of your senses going. Be careful because you may want to buy everything in the store. They even have black licorice which I personally love! I know most of you are saying yuck right now lol Don't judge me . Merritt's Bakery, Whole Foods, and Queenies is where I suggest to go. This place is overpriced and they keep moving their location, which I presume is due to rent costs for their business. If the icing for the cakes were served to taste fresh, and everything else weren't so highly priced, we might have tried again. Only been twice. I'm in love with this gluten free snickers cupcake! Super happy that during a team outing I was able to find gluten-free. This was a scrumptious treat. Really neat environment too. I do have to say that a dozen cupcakes for $35 or $36 seems so high. The cupcakes are not very big either. Everything in the store was expensive. My daughter and I stopped in here because it looked like a fun time. We enjoyed looking at all the goodies and the decor was great. We were really excited and ordered 5 or 6 different candy/cupcake items. We got home and found out really quickly that most of what we ordered was old, stale or off. Took daughter for a special outing on her birthday. Per her request, we rode a City Bus from So Tulsa up to the downtown station to check this place out! She loved meandering through and exploring the olfactory overload that is Pinkitzle. I had been wanting to bring her here for a year. Not sure I'll be back. The good: -Little girl's dream birthday party set up for a group of 8-12. Pricing packages are surely not cheap but with food/ drink are doable in lieu of another rental event. - HS ish young man working the front seemed knowledgeable and helpful. There were a couple near misses with our two youngsters almost getting their hands in the candy bins. Young man at the front didn't give us any attitude (though i bet he's seen this 1 Million times before). - Candy selection is good (albeit pricey). Cons: - Music is too loud. - Cupcakes, as others note, are sickening sweet. We took home a variety box of 4 to later consume after the kids' candy high calmed down. In splitting & sharing the 4 with family, all agreed that all four were outrageously sweet (like burn your teeth upon impact). - Chocolates are absolutely terrible. Wedding cake, key lime, traditional truffle -- they suffer the same affliction as the cupcakes - somebody just jammed these truffle shells with sweet junk in the middle. Flavorless, but overpowered with baking sugar. The insides were super gross. Of the 5 we got, only the dark chocolate caramel was edible (but still nothing to shout about). Cliffs: As a parent, I wanted to like the concept. We will carry a sweet charming memory of our daughter's birthday. But I doubt we'll be back. read more

I took my wife and daughter in here the other night and got there just before close. I asked the nice lady inside if we could shop quickly and she accommodated us. This to me was super cool. Even if a product is mediocre (which it's not here) customer service typically makes up for it for me. So the store is super frilly and has really loud music. It's actually too loud in my opinion, but it didn't take away from my fascination with the assortment of sugary treats. There are nice displays of what you'd expect to find for candies sold by the pound. I am more after the cupcakes, truffles and macaroons. The cupcakes were delicious, but the frosting was a little tough for me to eat. Yummy but sooooo sugary. I tried several macaroons which were amazing, the espresso was by far my favorite. I also sampled several truffles, all were sweet but manageable and catered to my sweet tooth. Overall this is an easy 4 out of 5. It's a cool spot in downtown and the customer service was spot on. I'd love to give it 5 of 5 but I took a star for the loud music. The more I think about it, it really did take away from the experience for me. Loud music is fine, if it's not too loud. Had my daughter's 10th Birthday party here last Saturday... best money on a party I ever spent. They provided literally everything! Invites, cupcakes, cotton candy, & macaroons! My favorite... We had a great hostess who was with us the whole time. She even kept a list of the gifts my daughter received. Went back a second time due to the first time we went it was sooo bad we threw our cupcakes away. I did a review that they sent me stating the issues and they sent me a receipt of my bill and said please come back and basically you have this much to spend. So I took my granddaughter in and let her pick out the amount that I spent last time.Showed the manager my receipt and she said we don't give out coupons, I told her this is what was sent to me , she said it's in your notes I said yes because I deleted the email from you. It is super unique and keep your eyes moving and also aids in making some pretty interesting photo ops. The selection of candies and soda is insane! The real reason for a visit will be their wide selection of cupcakes. Visit their website. You will find each flavor they make. All of these flavors are ALWAYS available for purchase. They are super fresh and picture perfect. If you call ahead and ask for some to be boxed, they are more than happy to arrange it and will even deliver it to your car at the side of the building. After a long hard few days, my wife and I decided to stop in Pinkitzel for some sweets. We were both upset because of a personal situation, but the staff, specifically Whitney, made it more than a pleasurable experience. I am not sure if it is the southern hospitality, or the fact that she was genuinely a really nice person, but everything was perfect. We really needed something sweet to make our day better, and Whitney's suggestions were spot on. My wife had the Salted Caramel hot coco, I had just a black coffee. In addition, we both had cupcakes and truffles. My wife had a Chocolate Truffle cupcake and I had the Strawberry Shortcake cupcake. The Chocolate cupcake was very rich, yet the cake was light and moist. The Strawberry Shortcake cupcake, Whitney's suggestion, was amazing. She took pride in saying that she personally prepares them by cleaning and chopping the strawberries herself. They left the perfect about of tartness which was complimented by the sweet icing. The truffles were of the best quality and very rich. If you're not familiar, Pinkitzel is a cupcake shop where they offer cupcakes of a variety of flavors including birthday cake and pink lemonade. The first time I visited a Pinkitzel was in Oklahoma City and it quickly became a tradition that while in OKC, get a cupcake from the cupcake shop. A week later, we visited downtown Tulsa and stopped in the cupcake shop. I ordered my favorite, birthday cake. The cupcake was yellow with pink icing and at three dollars and fifty cents each, it's a splurge, but they are worth it!!!! The shop also sells lots of candy and knick knacks.
