Solid protein shakes at DFW airport…read more Our flight back to SFO was delayed so I took the opportunity to get some sustenance for the 4 hour flight back home, knowing I was unlikely to get much food on the flight. I opted for the 24 ounce banana peanut butter protein shake ($9 before tax and tip). In my 15+ years going to this LA Fitness I recall maybe once or twice giving the prior ones my business. When this opened, one of the workers greeted / acknowledged me both when coming and going. That reason alone made me decide to give them a try the next day. The "Beets & Berry Detox" I had was great! Have returned two other times for the "The Green Giant" (50 gms of protein) and "The Green Machine" (20 gms). Also both fantastic! Prices are reasonable. Show them some love so they can make a go of it! Great addition to the gym! I'm guessing LA Fitness would let non-members give them business... but you might want to check first to be sure!

I think the smoothies are made to spec, it's just that they lack any actual fruit pulp, or seeds- something to not cause a straight up sugar rush. I looked all up and down this terminal, and at 7am, no other places had anything even remotely close to a smoothie, so I went with Smoothie King, and as always regretted the decision. I ordered one of the more supposed healthier options, but it still tasted like a sugar bomb. I wish this chain would actually put something healthy on the menu for the next time I'm trapped in this terminal.
