I started going here my freshman year, and I've been a big fan since! They carry all my favorite clothing brands: Seven For All Mankind, BCBG, Made, Free People, etc. I've bought all my formal dresses here. Their selection of dresses is always amazing! I can spend hours in this store. The lady that works there is super nice and even helped me pick out an outfit/accessories. If you're into stores like Anthropologie and high end boutiques, Pinkadot is a store for you! Yes, the prices are a bit steep, but is expected for a boutique. I love Pinkadot! read more

I love Pink a dot it is the only real clothing store in davis. Think of it as all of the best jeans, shirts, and dresses from evrywhere in one store (and only the designer names). I have been shopping at Pinkadot for about 10 years now. Over the years I've seen so many improvements made within the store that I've continuously returned to get items for any event or trip that I have coming up. The employees are always kind and helpful when offering suggestions & are honest when I can't decide what actually looks good (honesty is key!). I have also seen more variety price wise and more sales (yay)! I do a tremendous amount of shopping online and I follow trends and their prices line up with many of the trendy retailers (revolve etc) (that carry clothing lines that they do) with the added convenience of being local. A boutique is for finding something special, and i can always find that here. Give this place a chance for a special occasion :) PS my mom shops here with me and she loves their stuff! She can find date night items and stuff appropriate for work. read more

I visited Pinkadot on 03/21/2008 at approximately noon and was recieved by a RUDE OLDER CAUCASION/BLONDE FEMALE SALES ASSOCIATE. When I walked in she was explaining to another women about the different fits of Joe's jeans. That day I was wearing Rock and Republics and Juicy Couture so obviously I know the brands and fits there. All I wanted was assistance in finding a pair of William Rast jeans in my size since I have been wanting a pair for awhile. SHE WOULD NOT HELP ME. I freakin stood NEXT to her when she was helping the first lady - then on to another lady and then to answering a phone call. My boyfriend kept on trying to get her attention but while she was on the phone - LOOKED AT US AND THEN IGNORED US. ALL I WANTED WAS MY WILLIAM RAST JEANS!!! For once I wanted to support a Davis business but for that reason I will NEVER patron a Davis owned store again. It is either overpriced or has BAD SERVICE like this one. Sure - jeans here are the same price at Nordstrom but at least Nordstrom has EXCELLENT service. I honestly believe she didn't help us out because of our race (only Asians in the store) or age (college students). Who the hell straight up looks at a person IN THE FACE and continues to ignore them?? SHE WAS STANDING RIGHT IN MY FACE WHEN I ASKED HER FOR HELP AND CONTINUED TO LOOK AT ME WITH A BLANK STAR. And not to mention that before I left I yelled out loud in the store "I'd rather go to Nordstroms because they at least have good service there" in which she continued to ignore us. I don't get how the hell you help out 3 freakin old white ladies that don't know how the hell Joe's jeans fit rather than 2 customers walking in wearing 7FAM/RockRepublics/Juicy/EdHardy. Obviously we spend the money on the overpriced clothes so help us out! At least I get better service when I walk into Louis Vuitton with my fake LV wallet. Is there any negative star? Such a cute little store carried with good selection of clothing and...wait a minute...under cultured sales associates. I really didn't care much about the lack of assistance from the sales associate with a fake tan I encountered today, but I was a little mad when she stopped me before I took off. Fake-Tan:"Excuse me? I saw you took that (referring to one of their small products)." I was starring at her saying "huh?" Then she said "I saw you took that pantie." Last but not the least, she tried to make me turn around to prove I didn't take their stuff. The whole time I was just thinking where could I possibly hide anything at all wearing short short jeans and a crop top =] So I decided the best I can do for myself is to write a review of today's experience and never step foot in the store again, oh, and also maybe discourage some friends, some relatives from shopping there too. I like their selection of clothes and actually used to shop here quite a bit until I met the owner outside of the store and she was pretty rude to me. We were at a nail salon and I overheard her telling the lady to shop at her store, excuse me for listening in - nail salon! hello! She was describing her store and I asked her if she owned Pinkadot and that I loved her store. She answered shortly and dismissed me quickly, probably because I look like a young broke student? So i went to Davis to visit my cousin who goes to school there. We were downtown and decided we had some time on our hands since i had an hour until my train arrived to we went to Pinkadot. First of all, they do not have a knowledge of basic customer service here. Not even a casual "Hello" when we entered. - 1 point. I was immediately put off and decided that i was not going to buy anything from here. My cousin, however wanted some jeans so we stayed so she could try stuff off. While we were looking through the racks, there two girls were talking about last night's party and how there was soooooooo much drama with heather and her boyfriend who she caught cheating. (These fools STILL haven't said hello to us or asked us we needed assistance). Then my cousin asks for a fitting room and they ignore here. She asks again and the girl kind of scoffs and says "alright i'll get a room started for you...what are you trying on.". Excuse me?! I'm about to slap this blonde hoe. Worst employees I've ever encountered. I went into pinkadot because they were giving away 50% off vouchers. I was waiting to try on clothes. I literally sat there for an hour waiting to try on my clothes. There was one girl who was sharing that dressing room with her friend. The sales employee kept walking around the store picking out outfit after outfit for the two of them to try on. I am sitting here waiting to try on my 3 items. Then the friend began walking around the store picking out outfits for them to try on. There's only two dressing rooms in the store and these three people (one being an EMPLOYEE) continued to bring outfit after outfit into the dressing room. I became incredibly impatient around 45 minutes of waiting. I eventually told the other employee that it's a bit ridiculous that one employee is continuously picking out a bunch of other outfits when I have been waiting here for so long to only try on THREE items! If it wasn't for the 50% off voucher I would have walked out the door right then and there. The employee then had the nerve to tell me that I should expect to wait this long on days where they're having a sale. Um no sorry I shouldn't ever have to expect to wait because another employee is picking out twenty more outfits for two middle aged women who are dressing way too young for their age anyway. She basically told me that it sucks for me and I'll have to continue to wait. It was the worst service of my life and I would never ever pay for price for anything in that overpriced store. i've walked in here twice and i've never experienced the bad customer service that other yelpers have ... maybe they changed their attitude? idk but the owner was nice to me both times i went in.. i only go there to look through their ring collections and i absolutely love them. my first visit i didn't buy any becaue i thought i could find cheaper ones on storenvy or etsy but actually they were about the same price and pinkadot had better styles and i got to try them on to see my size which was nice. my second visit I actually bought a midi ring and i absolutely love it, i think im going to go back and buy another one tomorrow!:) but yeah i love their ring collections and their customer service is pretty good so i give it a 5 stars:) read more

I came across this store while waiting for a friend of mine to get out of class. My first impression of the store, outrageous prices aside, was that it was a cute boutique with a lot of great, stylish pieces to choose from, but that's about as far as the good things go. In all honesty, I would probably give this place -5 stars if I could. When I entered the store, none of the sales associates bothered to greet me. There was some steady traffic, but the store wasn't busy by any means. I continued exploring the various pieces they had on display at the racks and noticed that each time I went to ask the older sales associate a question, she would suddenly wander elsewhere and at this point, none of the associates had bothered to acknowledge me. I also noticed this old lady being very curt with a customer that had come in to request a return in exchange for store credit, which ultimately ended with the store manager having to intervene. Despite the situation seemingly being settled, the old lady then further went to antagonize the customer who was being helped by the manager, and to add further disappointment to the situation when it came to customer service, the manager just stood there and didn't intervene. I later heard the customer expressing her disappointment on the customer service standards and the old lady never came back to apologize and all the manager did was tell the customer that she had misunderstood the old lady's intentions. As someone who currently works in retail, this obviously broke the fundamental rule that the customer is always right. Overall, I'd say that if this is the only near upscale shopping experience Davis has to offer, I'd say the extra 30 minute drive to go to Sacramento and shop at a place like Nordstrom is well worth it. If customers are attacked by sales associates for simple requests like returns or exchanges and the manager defends this type of behavior, it's a wonder that this place is still in business. Avoid this place, unless you like shelling out your money to a sorority house that treats it's customers like sh*t! read more

Tyler was wonderful and extremely helpful and I think the other sales associates should learn from her and the owner should really pressure excellent customer service on all the sales associates because if it wasn't for Tyler's kindness and helpfulness I would have left empty handed and would lower the stars on this review. Pinkadot is the best jeans shopping experience I have ever had in my life! I am athletic and have large thighs and smaller proportions everywhere else, so jeans NEVER fit me! Every time I go jean shopping I leave in tears and feel like a heifer. I have to wear jeans for a new job and I went to Pinkadot after a week of despair shopping elsewhere and the girl in the shop pulled a few pairs based on my usual fitting problems I described and two fit like a DREAM! I couldn't believe it! It took like 5 minutes, and I left with a pair of Hudson's and a pair of Joe's that I fell GREAT in and are super cute as well :-)! All the girls that work there are super stylish and sweet and really work with you to fit you in what is flattering for your figure. They make sure you leave with clothes you look and feel beautiful in! Also, there is a nice seamstress downtown that Pinkadot has a contract with and you get a complimentary jean hem there on all full priced denim! The lady does a beautiful job and matches the jean color stitching exactly and everything! I will be loyally buying all my denim from here for years to come and I highly suggest this boutique to anyone who has trouble fitting into cookie cutter clothes and needs something to fit their body nicely. read more
