Service was a negative experience. Tried returning an item that broke when the tag was removed and the manager said she was "making an exception". If your item breaks when a tag is removed it is a legitimate reason to return the item and get my money back. The encounter had me saying I'm not going to shop here again. read more

This TJ Maxx isn't anything surprising. Just like every other store, it's got a selection that varies wildly and unpredictably. I think it may be slightly worse than other TJX stores in that there have been multiple occasions where I stopped in here, only to be unable to find what I was looking for. Basic items, like skirts, vanish and appear from stock at random times. It's chronically understaffed and lines for the cash register are usually pretty long. However, if you have the time, you can find some nice stuff here for a decent price. It's not my first choice, but it's not that bad. read more

Came by for some shopping. Adequate parking. They had stacks of boxes (maybe holiday stuff?). Would've been nice to see what it all was. You can tell they moved the aisles/shelves because there are rows of dirt and grime on the floor and they didn't bother cleaning it. I got some good finds that I was not expecting. I walked in today to get a tag off of a blanket that I had purchased several months ago and had forgotten my receipt. I asked the young woman working for support and she brushed me off like I was a thief. I asked if she could help me with pulling up my mother's account...she told me that she couldn't without even offering to help. I was pissed off at this point and went home to see if I still had the receipt and fortunately found it and ran back to have the stupid tag removed. I know you all have theft constantly, yet the customer service for legitimate customers sucks. Do better than this and consider getting a better database system to store receipts to verify transactions! I mean you already have people stealing heaps of merchandise already so why not consider investing in some measures that let you and others know when things have been stolen. read more

Oh man, TJ Maxx in Davis... you are my absolute favorite location! Swooooon! First of all, this store is NOT crowded. This store is super clean. This store is organized to a, T! You constantly see the workers organizing the shelves and making sure they are in tip top shape for us customers. The team members? Super friendly and attentive. I must have had at least 4 employees ask if I needed help or assistance with anything. This never happens at other locations. The biggest plus is that they had a lot of things in size small: workout plants, jackets, sweaters, tops, jumpsuits... everything! They have such a huge selection of size small items. I had died and went to fashionista heaven! Let's just say I went in wanting to buy a few items and 2 hours later, I left with so much more! My happiness and the amount I saved, priceless. First time in a TJ Maxx, and there were some good finds! When compared to Homegoods or Marshall's, this was a cleaner and more organized store. This location was on the nicer side, and prices seemed understandable. I will say though that the environment in there around the employees was a bit unfriendly. I noticed several interactions with a specific worker (I think her name was Sabrina) being rather unpleasant towards other employees. I understand being frustrated with your job but doing it out loud in a belittling manner in front of customers is just really inappropriate (she was so loud about it that it seemed almost as if she was purposefully trying to embarrass the other employee). This kind of made the entire vibe of the store seem hostile. On top of that, when I checked out the line was going very slow with only two cashiers (no biggie because it seemed to be busy), but I noticed again as I was leaving that I saw the same employee ranting very negatively about the workplace instead of helping out her fellow workers. Again, I understand the work life... but there's a time and a place to talk about things like that and I feel like I overheard way too many things from just one visit. I'll be coming back, but with an attitude like that in the workplace it seems kind of pointless to announce that you're hiring on the intercom... read more

Just wanna say the Davis TJM location is thee best in the region! Trust me I have shopped them all and the Davis store is head and shoulders in terms of inventory and brands. I had to stop catching all the flies with my mouth, when I noted all the popular, good, current brand items they carried...I was in shock! The manager Bridgette B is one of the rudest & most disrespectful people I have ever come across! I have been shopping at this particular store for many years but she treated me with such distain when I was purely trying to return some online purchases! I showed one of the clerks my barcode as per the online purchase receipt indicates & she had to call this manager over as she was unsure if the code was sufficient. This female berated me infront of several people saying my items weren't showing up & I couldn't return them! I tried to explain & she kept shooting me down with her rude attitude! Eventually she figured out what to do in order to return my items but instead of apologizing for the mistake & her disrespect towards me she thrust the receipt at me with disgust! Worked for the store a few years ago. Horrible management. Don't get the credit card, it is a scam, and they try to talk you into signing up for it, always hated promoting it. Management blames employees for lack of card signups since they get in trouble with the district manager and this store is always the lowest in the district with the cards. Managers will accuse people of color of shoplifting, and gossip about them behind their backs. When I quit a coworker told me that 5 people in the same month quit as well, says a lot abt how the store manages and treats employees and customers TLDR store does not care abt employees or customers, you will get accused of shoplifting every chance they can, The store only sees customers as a way to take ur money with the card read more

I love shopping here. Unfortunately I shop here too much but that's another story. Honestly my favorite place to pick up gymwear I've also come across some great NBA gear and all clad cookware. There's always great deals to be had here. The staff are super nice, i feel like a few of them have been there for as long as I've been in Davis. They're always super friendly and nice! I do wish they didn't have to try sell that credit card so heavily but I know that's just them following orders. Frankly for how much I shop here it eventually made sense to get it. However, before I did, I always hated having to tell them no. It's kind of an annoying conversation to have repeatedly especially when I first moved here as an immigrant with no credit history! You know what the store is. Yes, it's hit or miss. Sometimes I could fill up two shopping carts and other times I will leave empty-handed. All in all, this is a good and well run store. Positives: The employees! They hire the best people. They are so incredibly helpful and kind. Selection! This is a great place if you are looking for something for yourself or your family to wear, jewelry, accessories, luggage, household goods... They have it all. Even a good selection of pet supplies. It's a great place to find a gift. Most of the things you see there are not typically found everywhere else. The store is clean. Like really clean. Yes, I noticed. There's lots of free parking and even some charging stations if that's your jam. Negatives: Like every discount store of this type, sometimes you have to dig for things. I tend to be the kind of person that likes to shop from the endcap. That won't necessarily work here. You have to go through the racks and find what you want. But that's the nature of the beast, right? COVID: they are doing a good job of it here. They require masks, they check when you enter, the fitting rooms are not open, cashiers spray down the counter and equipment in between every guest. I occasionally like making the extra 20 minute trip to go to this TJMaxx for the selection. Not sure I'd be back anytime soon. The selection in their makeup selection were ok. Staff I interacted with have been polite. But what really got me hesitating to come back is the cleanliness. Someone pushed back one of the skincare/beauty shelves and all these huge dust bunnies collecting under were suddenly revealed. One of the staff's response (after I saw what looks like a supervisor walk by and see it), was to push the shelves back in place to hide the dirtiness. Wouldn't it have been better to get a broom and dustpan to clean it up. I also saw the dust bunnies/clumps of hair around the bottom of one of the smaller shelves. Really gross. I don't think I'd trust any health/beauty/skincare products out of this store until they complete a deep clean. read more

I've never been to tj maxx before but decided to stop by today. I'm 39 weeks pregnant and had my 2 year old with me. I immediately started getting followed by an employee when I get here. He wasn't even subtitle about it which made it even more awkward. Idk if they have a huge problem with theft or I just fit some type but I ended up just leaving. I love that you can find great items for really affordable pricing, I typically like to drop by stores like TJ Maxx, Ross, or thrift stores for random finds or kitchen items. Bought two chairs from here and thought they were a decent find, and an ok price, but didn't realize one of them was slightly defected until I took it home. My main reason for the lower rating is the staff members, there are a few that were really nice, but there was a manager (blond, stood by the door) and another older, blond employee who acted very pretentious and passive attitude with their body language and tone of voice. There is hardly anything in stock and their store is lacking proper organization. It looks and feels like a warehouse with random stuff everywhere. I love this TJ Maxx! Such a big Tj Maxx and it's right around Target ;) I am becoming a huge FAN of shopping at TJ Maxx and when I found out there was a TJ in Davis... you know I had to go ! I love the selection of winter clothes so far! I just wish they provided more clothes in the size medium/large section. Lol. The staff is nice, the store is clean and it's pretty big inside. Love the holiday selection from Halloween and the transition to Christmas. I can't wait to come back and score deals on Christmas gifts ;) Another reason why I love TJ! Rude and condescending staff , asked for a discount ,instead I was given a lecture on what and why , a simple I am sorry I can't or no would have sufficed . If I am paying full price for an item you expect to get a complete item even though is "just a cap" like I was told . This is no a flea market .Run down place with run down employees that hate their job . How they hold a job in customer service dealing with people beats me ... I'm always stopping in here on my lunch breaks and after work to kill some time and avoid traffic. I mostly purchase home goods and decor, but have also found a few cute tops in their clothing section. Store is usually kept pretty clean and it is easy to navigate. The woman I've encountered at the dressing rooms is super sweet, I don't recall her name unfortunately but she is seriously kind and friendly. I'm going to start off by saying I am not from Davis. I went to visit my partner (in August) from out of town and was in need to some items so we came to this store. At first I thought the staff here was very nice since they greeted us and asked if we were doing okay. However, it quickly became apparent that they actually were following us around the store. We are people of color so this is not shocking to us but to have us followed through every isle and every section we went to???? Is that really necessary? We quickly noticed this and to test and see if we were we went to the complete opposite side of the store and the same girl coincidentally needed to fix items in that end of the isle too. (This is what she was doing to begin with) I became irritated upon that moment and went to pay after because I still needed my things. This TJmaxx in Natomas is really going downhill. This lady employee, I believe Hispanic, possibly the manager is the worst employee I've ever seen. She's not only not helpful but also rude. It's known that some employees put popular items on hold for themselves or friends. That's why customers hardly find those items. I stopped shopping at this location. read more

The store manager at this Tj Maxx location is extremely rude. One of the sales associates was helping me with a necklace when we both realized that one of the stones had a flaw. The associate said that she was going to get her manager to see if a discount could be given due to the flaw. I did not ask for any discount. It was the sales associate's suggestion. When the manager came, she did not say hi and did not acknowledge me as their customer. She seemed bothered by us. She had a condescending tone and body posture and said that she was not going to give a discount. She also told me that if I wanted a discount, I should open a Tj maxx credit card! The sales associate was embarrassed due to her manager's rude behavior. She apologized to me. I will not shop at their store anymore. Just checked out the grand opening! It was packed at 8am and I had to park over by target! This store is pretty large and I really like the layout. Feels very modern. It was pretty cool to see regional staff helping man the store on opening day. They handed out free reusable tj Maxx totes. The men's section is average; split into accessories, adult mens, young mens, and athletic apparel. The do not have a runway for men's section so I don't think I'm going to come here that often. They also did not have an outerwear coat section or men's shoes. Can't say much about the women's section, however it was LARGE! Took up about 75% of the store, so I think females will have better luck treasure hunting here. They also have a comparable sized home and luggage section but nothing to write home about. If you like swag visit this place while they're still giving out swag bags!!! read more
