In order to make the best of shopping here you do need to know the prices charged at regular grocery stores because the "regular price" shown on GO's labels are often inflated. You should also check expiration dates and evaluate your chances of food going bad before you can consume it all. The check-out was quick and the cashier was very friendly. I plan to make it a habit of stopping at Grocery Outlets whenever I'm near one. There are treasures to be found at every visit. I have also learned that if you see something and don't buy it with the intention of buying it later, that's a wrong move, it will be gone your next visit. I usually don't impulse buy, but at Grocery Outlet, if the price is good enough, go with your impulse.

Frequent Ross shoppers kind of know nowadays to open your bag to show your recent purchases and receipt. I did that but as I was walking towards the security guy he was already muttering what sounded like bad words and he seemed annoyed or stressed. Funnily enough a man after me he greeted with total respect and even eye contact as he walked out of the store with a farewell to him and only him. Either way, he was very unpleasant, rude, disrespectful, and had an arrogant demeanor about him that was just unprofessional as a whole. I understand the need to maybe seem "intimidating" as you are working security, however the blatant sexism and complete lack of respect is just uncalled for and quite frankly offensive and gross. Bad days are understandable but even I don't put out my personal feelings or negative attitudes on customers, let alone strangers. While it is the last anchor remaining and the facility has changed greatly, this small JCPenney store employs friendly staff, stocks good merchandise, and isn't overly crowded. The mall itself is pretty much dead. I admit I miss the old days, shopping at Gottchalks, Mervyn's, and Penney's, along with all the great small stores... but alas those days are gone. What's left is JCPenney. I hope it sticks around for many years to come.
