Came by on 1/23/26, this Target is located on 2nd st in Davis, CA. One of my laces broke on my shoe so stopped by to get a fast lock laces. This Target like any other Targets have a Starbucks and a lot of merchandise in the aisles that caught my attention after my need for fast lock laces, I picked up a Lunar New Year book for my toddler and Pineapple Cake for the family. The prices were fair and value can be immense to infinite since my toddler loves the caterpillar books. My hunny and I have been to target the past couple weeks, a number of times. Each time, no new inventory. Today we were hoping to see some new clothing in the men's champion section. Again no sizes we were looking for available.i asked one of the girls working if we could remove the manikin's pants because they were the only size we needed. Both girls took the manikin apart. I told them they earned a good review. Sometimes you just have to ask and they will produce good results! The girls were very polite and beyond kind. Target does not allow payment by check. and when you get groceries at Target, make note of prices on the shelf and carry those notes to the checkout line. watch like hawk as each item rings up, because too often there is a mistake that rings up a price higher than the one advertised on the shelf. this would be a THEFT from the customer. if this happens to you, COMPLAIN in very loud voice. notice that mistakes are never ones that would give you a lower price. Generally I place an order for pick up so I can dash in on my lunch break and quickly grab it. However, good luck trying to find somebody at the pick up desk when your order is ready. If are lucky enough to show up when someone is there, I've found them in a midst of an in-depth conversation with someone which they make no effort to wrap up - even if a multi person line is forming (like I did today). And then, when they do go to collect your order, they have to walk to another location in the store of to pick up the package. On the way back home from the Bay Area I had to stop here to purchase some essentials before going to Placerville. I would normally stop at the Target located in El Dorado Hills but I had to go to the bathroom very badly. So we tried this Target in Davis and I could not get out fast enough. First, the mens room was disgusting with the floors wiped out and the toilets were the aftermath of nuclear winter. There was literally no toilet paper and nothing was cleaned. The water facet shot out like a cannon getting me wet. The store seemed in a bit of disarray but we shopped to get our items which was easy enough but getting through the check stand was bad. A gentleman could not get his card to work at our check stand and the checker took 15 minutes to try to help the guy until the guy sort of admitted that he did not have the money. The second checker that we went to was nice and polite and did the best he could to get us out of the store. Go into the parking lot at your own risk ... I literally observed an elderly lady almost get run over by a car full of young people. After we packed our car I wanted to place our cart back in the rack because it is hard work for the people to retrieve the carts, and a lady was honking her horn because she was so important and had so much more important things to do wanting me to get out of my space so she could park. Long lines. They have 4 times the amount of self service they used to but they're always closed. I work nearby and used to go here frequently on breaks. Now it's too slow to conveniently get in and out on time In the early morning after opening you often have to find an employee to check you out and in mid morning and even in the lines are long for regular checkouts When self service is open the employees are sometimes really rude often coming over and checking you reallly do only have 10 items One scolded me for checking out when self service was open but shouldn't have been ... I'm so sad. I'm not sure what's changed but this Target is becoming a mess. They've drive a commendable job with curbside but come into the store? Eek! A few months ago there was a pick up desk for mobile orders. Now it's at the same counter as exchanges and returns with ONE person working. If the person in front of you has a mobile order, you have to wait for the attendant to walk across the entire store to get the order. It's crazy! This was not a single occurrence. On my last visit (before, not after Christmas) it took 35 minutes to return a seven dollar item. This store has always struggled a bit with cleanliness. Frequently there is debris in the isles, etc. It seems they are sliding back into that as well. I'm not sure if this is a change in management or something else. I do want to give a shout out for the staff, who are always friendly and helpful. I just don't know what corporate decision prompted this change, but for someone who is not a huge fan of in-store shopping, this is really aggravating. read more

I think this Target is really clean. The parking lot always has enough space. The workers here are so sweet. Whenever my daughter and I go shopping they always are considerate and think to bring her target stickers. I didn't even know stickers existed her. 5 stars all the way! I called their customer service before arriving with my boyfriend and they said they had plenty of boots in stock, including long and they sure did! I found the cutest pair of genuine leather boots that are called Cat Boots, yes heard that right, boots with the fur ha ha! They are fluffy, furry and very warm in the inside and not to mention comfortable for my feet! I would highly recommend this location, the staff are very friendly and everything is well stocked! The attendant at service is super ignorant and arrogant about information that he has no idea about it. I went to ace in downtown and get what I need in 2 minutes and the attendant is nice and understood exactly what I asked for. l used to love shopping at Target, but some of their recent changes leave me feeling as though they don't trust me as a customer and definitely don't respect my time. I also don't take being lied to very well. I brought up a concern about some cordons being placed by "Ulta," that were blocking egress to a fire exit. I was told they were there due to contractual obligations with Ulta. Come on Target, I'm not stupid, you put them there for loss/prevention. Along with the above, the carts lock up in the parking lot, and now there are limits on the 12 self checkout machines to 10 items or less. This Target is super clean and the staff is helpful/friendly. They will price match competitors and don't give you a hard time about it. Highly recommend downloading the Target App and using the barcode scanner within the app to check Targets online pricing. I've had things at the store marked $79.99 and online was $49.99. More often, you'll find things are a couple of dollars cheaper and they will obviously adjust. The Starbucks has the Impossible Breakfast sandwich so you can avoid the long drive thru line at the Starbucks just over the overpass. read more

Had a sweet tooth after a game at UCD and knew a Target run would do the trick. Grabbed my fave chocolate snack and headed to the register. I was greeted by a lovely, mature man named Paul who helped me navigate my Target app (I didn't know you could pay in-store, through the app!). I had a few coupons, gift card balance, birthday gift all on my account and didn't know how to apply them to my order. Paul to the rescue! Extremely long lines that make shopping there a pain. They have 12-15 self-checkout lines and either half of them are closed or there is a guard there that counts the items in your cart and turns you away if you have more than 10 so you can go stand in the long line and waste even more time. I would rather drive to Woodland Target at this point. read more

Target is normally pretty good on returns but when buying from target.com the return policy is misleading. The website says it's 90 days for most items but you have to click through into the fine print to learn that for electronics it's 30 days (14 days for Apple products). And some items sold through their website come from a 3rd party where the return policy is even more strict. Because of this I'm out $150. read more

I love Target, but the Davis store is a dump. There is always freight on the floor during heavy traffic hours which is in the way and customers have to move it, and the mens clothing department looks like a bomb went off. Clothes wadded up and thrown everywhere. I thought I was at a Walmart. I have lived in Davis for 7 years and it has always been like this. The main complaint is always out of stock. major food safety issues here. i've noticed they don't FIFO food items in their shelves. over the past couple months i've had 3 different instances of expired or moldy food in my grocery curbside pick up. i've gotten expired sour cream, expired sausage, and today i got home and noticed my peach cups were completely moldy. went back to complain and the manager was nice enough to apologize and supply a refund, but then told me this has been a reoccurring issue. not exactly something you wanna hear as a frequent grocery customer. i would say shop elsewhere but i know for other college students it can be so much easier and cheaper to just come to target and pick up your order. if you're going to keep coming here, always make sure to check expiration dates and packing before purchasing. read more

This target is why I buy my hair care and facial products on Amazon. If you are not a regular you can't find anything because it's organized by brand and not product. You will walk around forever looking for your brand. When you ask for help, they say things like, walk to the wall and it's there. Not an actual wall, but an isle that that the worker calls a wall. Wall of the department, maybe? Next time have isle numbers? Then you go to check out and the self check out is closed. You only have three items, every checker has a line with customers with baskets full. This is why Amazon does so well. I know what I want and I can find it quickly. read more

Bet they are very busy when the kids return to school in the Fall because it is in close proximity to the UC Davis community. All I wanted to do was return a pair of sweats and sandals my receipt in hand and I purchase with a gift card in which I wanted the return in a Gift card simply so I can do a size change . specifically regarding the infant and children toys, I like to look at toys on Amazon and add them to a wishlist, but how great would it be if I could go to Target and look and buy toys? No luck! all of the toys at Target are way, way over the top. Seems like they don't have any sort of sensory toys either. Anything that could be simple and interactive is made to be too complex. Seems like everything is electronic and every color and everything they could think of. I hope no one is buying these toys for their kids. They had a couple of Lovevery toys which are good, but they weren't what I was looking for. They should really check the research behind childrens' toys. Otherwise, Target is a fun place with very cute everyday things to buy. I enjoy buying gifts for people here. I am always surprised they have a grocery store. Meandered in today looking for a stick. On the end of this stick, one secures pre-moistened sheets of paper creating a very temporary mop. Yup, I got a Swiffer. Back to that in a sec. It's a big Target. Okay, so probably not as sizeable as some (Roseville? Not sure actually.) yet enormous for Davis. Davisites may have breathed a collective sigh of relief when they figured out that no trip to Sac, Woodland nor Vacaville was needed to go department store shopping. So on sale, this stick used to clean was still $12. My new clean tile floors thank me for the purchase. The dust from construction is the real deal Holyfield. read more

I've been shopping in Target for over 30 years and it is my go-to store. As far as availability goes and it Depends on the particular location. Texas stores are pretty consistent in products. California locations are less so. Cat & Jack is a fabulous label for kids. Generally staff has to be asked for help if they're around. I love it. read more

This place needs new carts ASAP! I spent 5 minutes looking through carts, easily tried about 20 and all of them were very old and loud. I finally gave up and got one that wasn't as loud but was shaky. I was walking around feeling like if I had Parkinson's! Some employees check to make sure everything is good and the transaction is super quick. Curbside pick up at Target is THE BEST. I've tried it twice now and both times it has been on point and every bit as amazing as they advertise it to be. I online shop, they tell me it's ready for pick up, I tell them I'm on my way on the app and then park in a designated curbside pick up space and tell them I'm here on the app. Within minutes, a staff member has brought out my bags, checks for a designated four digit code that appears on the app (this is done with windows rolled up through the window so literally no contact) and then they put my bags into my trunk and I'm on my way. I hope this service is available long after the pandemic is over because it is my favorite. Some items are not available to be picked up at the Davis store, but most items are (basics like toothpaste, brown sugar, marshmallows, cotton balls). Thank you, Target! read more

This review is only about the CVS within Target. Do Not Patronize unless for the VERY simplest service. This is a classic example of a store not being able to walk and chew gum at the same time. (It's likely that part of the blame goes to CVS at the corporate level, but the store is where the rubber hits the road.) Our case in point: we had two recurring prescriptions for a brand name medication utilizing the manufacturer's discount card. These Rx's were on automatic renewal. Virtually every time they were due for renewal, the pharmacy staff didn't process the discount card correctly and had to be reminded what to do. This sometimes resulted in days-long delays and repeated visits. Recently, there was another delay despite the fact that renewal was supposed to be automatic. The first time I went in, I was assured the medication would be in 3 days later. When I checked online CVS indicated it had been delivered, but not yet dispensed. Because of this both of us had to go without our needed medication. I went to the store and was told that it had NOT been delivered and they had no idea when it would be. Two days later I returned and another pharmacist informed me that it would NEVER be delivered. Apparently, the distributor has stopped carrying the medication in the needed dosage. Were we informed? Not on the website nor in person until repeated visits. Some pharmacies compound their own medications. This one compounds its own mistakes. read more
