The Mexican themed restaurant on the Virgin Voyage Resilient Lady, Pink Agave was the location of my brother and my fourth night dinner. The food and service was excellent.
The menu is divided into small, medium, and large plates and we took samples from each section.
Small -
Guacamole: very good, simple...obviously freshly crushed avocado, lime juice, and salt with pomegranate seeds added. Came with big pieces of tostadas, which were just OK.
Esquites..very good..definitely grilled corn, right portion (not so much spice or lime, just the simple taste of roasted sweet corn). I would eat this again and again.
Aquachile...not what I would expect. Very large pieces/strips of raw tuna, with a hint of marinade. Not much heat...really liked it. This was the way to get your raw tuna fix on this ship.
Medium -
Enchilada de pollo - brother said it was good.
Camaron Amarillo - seared shrimp.
Large-
Pescado, grilled striped bass. It had been deboned, skinned and presented as a tower. The sauce (mole verde)was meh, but the fish was a good representation of why I like bass (firm, flakey, not too fishy).
Cochinita Pibil - achiote-marinated smoked pork. Beautiful looking dish, with good tender pieces of roasted pork in a hot pico de gallo.
Skipped out on dessert again, which was becoming a habit (too full anyway). read more
