The food in this bakery is great. But it's a shame their service is God awful. My wife went in to grab us some pastelitos and coffee, but woe to the customer that orders in English. The girls were rude and copped and attitude even though they weren't paying a lick of attention to what she was ordering. They also spend their time talking to each other rather than listening to your order, even if you order in Spanish, they still somehow get the order wrong. It's a shame, because the food is great, and we were set on becoming regulars, but we won't be going back. Publix is closer and cheaper, to boot. read more

Typical finds at a Cuban bakery, although the other reviews were right. You kind of walk in expecting a European bakery. Their espressos will kick start you in the morning, and the baked goods are served warm like they're fresh out the oven. I've had their guava y queso and cheese sticks. I was also surprised to find that they were selling pan de bono, which is a Colombian bread--- it just so happens that I am currently on a hunt to find pan de bono that beats Ola's. This one does not, however. Finally, I'm not a big fan of the service, but maybe it's just the one lady who's served me the two times I went. She seemed hasty and impatient. When I asked her about one of the items she looked at me like I was wasting her time. I'm not from the area, but other reviewers have said that this was the one of the few Cuban bakeries around. Three employees working, the one in charge of preparing the food didn't feel like working. The only one that was actually doing work was just cleaning up the place instead of taking orders or at least preparing the food. The employees allowed people to skip the line. Delivered food to a large group that came after us. We ordered our food at 2:00am and received our sandwiches at 2:45 after I had to complain multiple times. In the middle of the night when its not even at its busiest. The only reason I'm rating it two stars is because at least the food was good. Fact is that there's a bakery/ cafeteria on every other block in Miami. Pinecrest Bakery, stands out to me mostly because of the nice decor and the fact that they have wine in some of their locations and most importantly they're open 24 hours. They have an $8 minimum for card purchases which is a little weird. I'm used to seeing the $5 min. I don't really mind it but according to the cashier a lot of people are complaining about it. So just speaking up for others here. Food review: There pastelitos de guayaba are truly different than any other I've had. These have a little buttery taste to them. This is the best bakery in town. When I wake up early I can always count on getting the freshest most delicious pastelitos and croquetas. They always have something new. Now they are adding specialty coffees-- like Frappuccino's--- I tried the S'mores one, out of this world. On my search for this particular location on Yelp, I realized that all Pinecrest Bakery locations had 3 star averages. It makes me feel like my experience was not unique, and therefore this review perfectly justified. The only good thing Pinecrest Bakery has going for it is that it's open 24 hours. However, upon my 2 visits to 2 different locations, I found myself wondering "maybe the 24 hour thing is what makes this place so unappealing". All the pastries I've tried taste like they've been sitting out for days. Old, stale, and the wrong shade of yellow. Maybe you don't care about that when you're drunk and hangry for greasy food at 3am. But at 4pm on a weekday, I kind of expect my pastries to taste fresh. Maybe not 7am, warm-and-flaky-out-of-the-oven fresh, but still flaky, amirite? I cannot, for the life of me, understand why these have popped up everywhere when they all receive such mediocre reviews. I've been a frequent patron at this bakery. In the early days, the service quality was very good. Overtime, the quality declined as they became busier. For example, the priority are given to customers who are more demanding or food delivery services (e.g. Ubereats, Postmates, etc.) rather than individuals. On 5/1/2021 was my last experience that has completely turned me away from them. Knowing that they would be busy, i put an online order for pick up 45 minutes early. When I did arrive, they acknowledge that my order was received, but were backed up with delivery orders. After an hour wait, they told me my single order of a sunshinewrap was still not made. Nothing was done to redress this issue, and i still was charged for the order with no refund. read more

Just like at the Bird Road Pinecrest location, and probably all others, hard earned accumulated points from purchases have disappeared and are not being honored towards a free breakfast or other purchases. All points were erased without letting customers know so they could use their points before a new cashiering system was implemented. Customers that make daily purchases at their many locations were told it was a "management devision." Yes, a poor management decision showing how little they care about customers. We really wanted croquetas, chicken specifically. They have two styles - regular and casera (homemade). It's a 35 cent difference and they are about double in size.
