Worst customer service ever! Last week I placed a phone order for a sandwich, was told it would be ready in 10 to 15 minutes. Arrived after 10 minutes, no customers there, was told the grill was being cleaned and gave me the wrong sandwich 35 minutes later! This is unacceptable. This week I went on Monday night, 9.28.2020 for a coffee and croquettas. There was only one customer ahead of me. The only server there was talking and laughing with a client. Another server surfaced after 10 minutes to take my order and another 10 to make a coffee and give me to go get us a customer should not have to wait 17 minutes to get a simple order of a coffee and took it is at 11 PM on a Monday night with only one customer there. In addition, the first server, and the second server were not wearing their masks the entire time. They prepared my coffee, grabbed my croquettas with no masks on. When I told both ladies they needed to be wearing their masks, the server that handed me the order said that she wasn't even supposed to be there, which is irrelevant to the fact that whether or not she was supposed to be there, she was not following protocol and wearing masks. Again, unacceptable. This Pinecrest Bakery and the one on Bird Road and 114th have the slowest and worst customer service. Management should look at the videos from late Monday night and address not only the poor customer service that is provided to customers, but also that their employees are not following the COVID-19 protocols and exposing and risking more clients and people to COVID-19. read more

First and foremost, I want to acknowledge how me and my family flew in from New Jersey we were looking forward to some good quality Cuban sandwiches but to our surprise it was one of the worst if not the worst Cuban sandwich I have had. Second, we walk into the restaurant and there are 3 women at one register than a man at another register counting money, he looks up at me, instead of asking to take our order, he looks back down. After that, we order our sandwiches (3 cuban sandwiches, 2 without mayo, one with everything. 1 media noche and 1 cheesesteak) after waiting we get our food and see that there is no pork. We go and ask the employees and they seem uninterested about our inquiry and they look at the sandwich and see there is pork. But the pork on the sandwich is one slither of pork, yes one slither. I love Pinecrest Bakery. Their food is always absolutely delicious, and it's my go-to bakery for when I'm back in Miami. I'm a huge fan of their empanadas, pastelitos, and croquetas, and they have a pretty wide selection of handmade sandwiches as well. If you're swinging by, I'd also recommend grabbing a cup of orange juice as it's freshly squeezed. However, their service is pretty lackluster. There's a lot of people running around behind the counter, and if you're not a Spanish-speaker, you're going to have a lot of difficulty getting in your order. For a Cuban bakery in Miami, it's also on the pricier side. I can definitely find better bang for my buck, but still love this place regardless. read more

Besides the young woman attempting to take the order of the person behind me in the line when I was clearly next, then crumpling up my receipt and tossing it into the trash after I paid without asking if I'd like it, at least she dug it out of the trash when I asked for it. Decent bakery to get any of your basic deep fried or carbed up foods. Was stopping by any bakery to grab some croquetas and Tequenos. Got my mom a café con leche too. When you come in it's a good sized place. They have a ticket dispenser as soon as you walk in. Which is good because it keeps the people in order. I grabbed on and went to the counter. There weren't many people there so one of the servers took me right away. I placed my order and got it quickly. I overheard one of the ladies saying that they had run out of Cuban bread (say what!). Finally got to try Pinecrest Bakery after seeing them pop up seemingly everywhere. Just your typical Cuban cafe (exactly like Vicky's Bakery) where you can get the typical pastelitos, empanadas, cafecitos, and so forth. Open 24 hours which is a plus, if only there was a place like this near my house! D: I went by for breakfast at around 8am, no line. The sweet lady at the cashier was very nice and almost motherly (probably because I look super young), typical Cuban customer service! I got a medium-sized cafe con leche and their sunshine croissant sandwich. Cafe con leche was good and their sandwich was pretty tasty, much larger than expected which is great considering I paid over $6 for it. Great joint. Forget Chipotle or Denny's and head down here for a fast causal Cubano made the authentic way and then tip it off with a cafecito on the way out the door. What impressed me right off the bat was the cleanliness of the place, the friendliness of the staff, and the quality of the food. Truth be told, if anything, we felt stuffed with our own orders of cubanos (cuz we were there looking for a light lunch before heading out to enjoy a hot afternoon outdoors). Pinecrest Bakery is just a solid place. I remember losing power at 1am a few years ago and decided to visit Pinecrest Bakery. I'm glad Pinecrest Bakery welcomed me with open arms during that time and I was able to eat some good food. There's some food here that is just mediocre, but my favorites are definitely the pan con bistec, cheese pastelito, flan cheesecake (definitely my favorite dessert here from the ones I've tried), and the Colombian chicken and beef empanadas (they have potato in them too- so good). The desserts I didn't really care for were the Oreo cheesecake and the different cake slices in general. I feel like the big cake slices are usually pretty dry. However, the carrot cake slice is usually very moist. Definitely go for that flan cheesecake though (it never fails). Their prices are great and I like how they have so many locations throughout Miami. I've always been treated well from the staff (they mostly speak Spanish). This bakery is yummy and so adorable on the inside. There's inside and outdoor seating and their open 24 hours! There was so much to look at inside cause they have it all! Not only do they sell all the delicious pastries,cupcakes,croquettas, empanadas,cafe con leche, and nicely decorated cakes for any occassion. They also sell cold brewed coffee, salads, wines, full meals for any occassion,authentic cuban crackers and muffins,chips and sodas. The list goes on and on. You really should take your time and just look at everything. They even have 2 pretty chandeliers hanging from their exposed ceilings. Aisles are set up perfectly and this place is super clean! On this morning it was packed and tables and chairs were scarce. We had a plan .....my stepdad orders and my mom and I look out for the next available table and a chair. We were able to grab a table and prepare for our delicious breakfast that was coming. We shared a ham,cheese, and onion omelette made into a sandwich, had three cafe con leche, two spinach baked empanadas,two chicken croquettas, and fresh OJ. Everything was absolutely delicious and the orange juice was a perfect touch. I liked that they offered the empanadas baked and want to try a different one the next time. Im a fan of late night croquetas but not necessarily waiting twenty minutes for an order that should've taken five minutes tops. As they do have an extensive menu, I usually frequent this place after leaving UM late at night while heading southbound. I placed my order ahead of time so that it would be ready before my arrival. Not only was it a simple sandwich but the fact that I had to stand and wait over 17 minutes for something so simple like a chicken sandwich that I preordered is beyond outrageous. I understand there's a heavier influx of incoming orders during breakfast and lunch hours but this was discrepancy occurred during slower hours. My favorite part was...dame cinco minuticos! While I really waited 17 "minuticos" which is unacceptable. It's not like they were understaffed, they literally had plenty of people behind the counter and in the kitchen so this delay was inexcusable. Big shout out to the overnight staff who supported me with cafe con Leche and pan con mantequilla for a year and a half while I sat there through the wee hours every night earning my Master's degree. Though my spanish is far from perfect they always knew my order and had it ready to go as I walked in. They would even clean around me as I feverishly typed my research papers. Being there so late in the night really helps you realize how many weirdos there are in Miami, and the fact that none of these ladies jumped over the counter to snap off at them speaks volumes about their level of professionalism. I have never been more disappointed on an order from here or doordash. Let me startoff my saying I ordered the Grilled Chicken Special with cheese and it came with zero cheese. I paid extra for bacon on my Media Noche and it comes wrapped in mustard and with no bacon. Truly disgusting, it was prepared horribly. It was all soggy and cold, it was gross. Then when I look a my Fountain Fruit Juice I ordered Gurapo or Soursop, it was passion fruit instead. The only two things from my order that came correctly prepared were the Tequeño and the Chocolate Caliente. Door dash couldnt even issue me a refund. I am way more upset at the quality of Pinecrest Bakery, love this place for lunch or even a midnight snack but I am hesitant yo order here again. I am asking the bank for my money back since door dash could not credit me for the extra money I paid for these items. This is the go-to place if you want a quick grab-n-go breakfast. Well, I normally go before work for a quick cafe con leche and croqueta or empanada, but there are plenty of more options (see menu) Once you walk in, grab a number. If you don't, you might get skipped and wonder why you others are ordering before you. It's actually a pretty good system since there isn't a need to make a line. But if you just want cafecito, you can walk up to and order from the far left counter. Just as most "Cuban" coffee shops, they put sugar in their coffee. If you don't want sugar (like me) or would like other kind of sweetener, tell them no sugar so they can make it without. I ordered a croissant egg sandwich with bacon this time. It was good. Similar to other Cuban places though but it was good. The women are very friendly and they work hard and fast in which it's important before going to work, so tip them well! read more

The pastries are great BUT very expensive. In addition, when you pay the machine asks for a 18-20 % 'tip' and if you try to press the 'no tip' option on the screen - nothing happens, prompting you to ask the clerk. Then she tells you to push another button "...if you don't want to tip..." to conclude the payment. This happened to me twice. Asking for a tip to receive baked goods while standing at a display case is over-reaching and ridiculous. Imagine going to Publix or CVS and they ask you for a tip? My bill for 4 little 2.5 inch (?) guava pastelitos and 4 mini 2.5 inch (?) ham croquetas was $12.03. Summary: GOOD - BUT expensive - and they certainly shouldn't ask for a tip on top of that. Decided to stop at this bakery since it's on my way to work. However, I wish I didn't. I ordered a cafe con leche and pandebonos. The pandebonos were probably the worst I ever had. I do realize this is mostly a Cuban Bakery, but selling those pandebonos should be embarrassing. The person assisting with my order was very nice and friendly, but why ask if I'm going to leave a tip for putting the pandebonos in a bag. I don't understand why doing our job entitles us for a tip. Why ask if I'm going to leave a tip in a loud voice from where you were standing and clearly everyone standing in line can hear your. This is the last time going to Pinecrest Bakery.
