This place was recommended to me by a Portland local when I was visiting for a work trip. I ordered ahead, and was planning to take it to go. However, the sandwich was pretty messy so I decided to knife and fork it. It's a cool little spot with industrial vibes. The food tasted fresh, and the chicken had a lot of great flavors. Our first time here and was surprised to see how small it was inside. Mostly it has bar stools that are very uncomfortable. The seats they did have (barstools) which was 10 was being used. Before our food came we were able to move to a bar stool. Now for the food. We ordered the biscuits and gravy and hash browns with cheese but it didnt taste like it had cheese on it. The edges were crispy but the middle was mushy. The biscuits and gravy were a weird texture with the sausage being more gritty. Not chunky like I'm used to. Went on a random weekday and it was relatively empty with more than enough room for two people to eat lunch. The biscuits were super soft and yummy, the gravy was on the thinner side (wish they gave more) and the egg complimented the biscuit mountain decently. Mushroom gravy was so good. Very heavy meal and would honestly recommend splitting a dish with a friend and then getting more treats/coffees in the neighborhood if you're a tourist like me. It fills you up for certain! Price was reasonable and the interior was very quirky and cute. Self-serve. Would rec adding to your itinerary and trying some Portland style biscuits and gravy. Wasn't too long of a wait to order, but there is always a line. But there was a long wait (45 minutes) for food on a Saturday. There were 6 of us and we managed to fit at 1 table. Not really recommended for large groups. A friend ordered the same thing but her seemed bigger and had 2 eggs. I'm sad to say that this fish wasn't that great. Walked up Monday morning and was a little hesitant as I walked up to a few folks waiting outside to order. However, upon further scrutiny, there is only one party allowed indoors to order at a time, so the line went relatively quickly! I ordered in a minute or so, but there are larger parties who may take a little more time. I went minimal and ordered the Moneyball with sausage gravy. Had I been with someone else, I probably would have ordered something more decadent. I received my number and walked out to sit on the street side parklet. I waited about 7 minutes before my plate came out. There were some neighboring parties that ordered sandwiches, and their items took longer. I think because the Moneyball is simple, the wait time was less. The Moneyball came out and looked fantastic. I did the ceremonial yolk breaking and cut into the biscuit. I wish the gravy was a little hotter temperature-wise, but otherwise, was pleased with all the flavors. In true gravy fashion, this is salty! Make sure to continue to hydrate post-meal. I thought the biscuit was a little tough and wished it was a little more tender. I'm not sure if that is intentional, but was something else I wish were a little different. Wowza!!! I'm from Texas and choose to live an all-vegetarian lifestyle recently (about 2.5 years ago), but I still get those cravings for meaty things, you know? While I've not gone back to eating meat, I satisfy these cravings by finding vegetarian versions of old comfort food favorites. I chose a "build-your-own biscuit" and did vegetarian sausage, egg and cheese and HOLY COW! It was like I was back in Texas eating a Whataburger sausage biscuit...BUT BETTER! Longtime craving = immensely satisfied. The biscuit itself was huge, fluffy and buttery. Yum! The vegetarian sausage wasn't "Beyond Meat" or any of those brands but instead was a much higher quality "fake meat" than I'd ever had before. I highly recommend checking this place out! I've gone here for years on multiple Portland visits, but this was my first visit in about four years (thanks covid). I was really excited to check 'em out again and enjoy a heaping biscuit breakfast sandwich, but sad when the biscuits were dry and crumbly, and the food within them lukewarm and not very well seasoned. I know what you're thinking - Amanda, Portland is not in the south. This is true however apparently they do southern well. Went here on a Friday morning around 7:15am and there was no line at the register. We had parked on a side street nearby and walked over. They have a microphone that you can speak to so because of the plexiglass there. I went for the Reggie Deluxe (Fried chicken, bacon & cheese topped with gravy with egg) and elected to get a small side of hash browns. The employees handed us a number to take to the outdoor dining section and let us know that water was behind us and that the silverware was just before heading to the outside patio area. The tables outside are kinda cool; those that are clean have the green "clean" sign on it; change it to dirty once you're done. The food came out in 10 mins or so and I was excited to try it out. The fried chicken is juicy and the batter isn't too thick and was perfectly made. The biscuit itself wasn't too dry but it was nice mixing the delicious gravy on there with the chicken. It's so flavorful haha; I see why this was recommended! For their hash browns it's grilled on one side pretty complete and they put some chili powder or something to give it a small kick to it.
