2 meat plate: pulled pork burnt ends, potato masher and collard greens with pulled pork
    Susan Z.

Fried Okra came out super crispy and piping hot inside. On the saltier side but really liked the appetizer overall. Tried the 2 protein with a side of mashers and collard greens - yum! The burnt ends were just okay, the pulled pork was also alright. The honey butter that came with the cornbread was super good!

Let me start by saying I'm a Mississippi native with a weakness for hush puppies and Southern-inspired cocktails made with bourbon, whiskey, lemonade, iced tea, and watermelon & peach purée. That was the hook that brought me and a friend to Miss Delta during our trip to Portland. We started our meal on a high note with cocktails and an order of hush puppies as an appetizer. The hush puppies were absolutely phenomenal, so we had high expectations for our entrees. My friend ordered brisket and a wedge salad for his meal, and I ordered a plate of sides with andouille sausage and two fried oysters. Unfortunately, the entrees did not deliver! My friend's brisket was unmemorable, and everything on my plate was some combination of too sweet, too vinegary, too greasy, bland, and dry. While it was indeed delightful to find a restaurant like Miss Delta in the PNW and I don't necessarily regret eating here, this was my least favorite meal of the entire trip. The overall service here was satisfactory.

Super delicious! The serving size for the mac and cheese was well worth the price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A cold weather note: If you go in there first thing when opening be sure to bring a jacket it was very cold.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My cousin and I saw the post via IG and we decided to go ahead there to get our lunch. We ate too fast and couldn't finish our lunch lol. Shrimp and Grits: 10/10 -- it's perfect for two people to share, highly recommended because I was not able to finish it. Hushpuppies: 9/10 -- it would be nice if they're nicely fried, it's perfect for two people to split 6 into 3. Fried Pickles: 10/10 -- These were perfectly crispy but definitely for sharing. Fried Catfish Plate with Mashers and Mac and Cheese as sides: 10/10 -- I do wish the portion of catfish was a little bigger, the mac and mash were delicious. You would enjoy your meal, you won't regret it. :)

Visited Miss Delta in Portland and had a mixed experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is chill with outdoor seating options, which is a plus.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was good, but my drink came in a dirty glass. I ordered the pulled pork, it had good flavor but was too watery, and serving it in a paper boat made it soggy. The highlight of the meal was definitely the mac and cheese rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious.

I was in Portland looking for a place to eat dinner. A friend of mine had told me about this place. When we entered the restaurant I was greeted by staff. The staff were friendly and polite. I ordered the 2 meat combo. My two meats were rip tips and fried chicken with Mac n cheese, greens and cornbread. The rib tips and chicken were tender and delicious. The Mac n cheese and greens lack a little flavor. The cornbread was delicious and fluffy. Customer service was up to par and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance is customer friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Four stars is for the food alone, it tastes great. If it was for over all experience it would be 3 stars. My change was kept rather than returned, it wasn't much but let me tip on my own, [[HIGHLIGHT]]service was slow, we had to ask for the table to be whipped down it was yucky.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lastly I had hair on my lemon that was in my drink. Undecided if I'd be back but as I mentioned the food did taste good so 3 & a half stars for me but yelp doesn't have that option

We wanted to get cajun for a change and decided to give this place a shot. First of all, the kids meal was a great value. Quite a bit of food for the price. You can never go wrong with banana pudding, I wanted more. We tried a bit of everything from sausage to grits, trashy mac, catfish, burnt, end, gumbo, you name it. We were pleased with all of it. Everything was well prepared with plenty of flavor. We also wanted to try boiled peanuts. Didn't look it up so wasn't sure what to expect. Sure they're a little messy to eat, but the broth they were in was so good our 7yo niece kept dipping her tenders and fries in it. So I'd say that was a hit. Solid food.

Very good food for a reasonable price (which is not common in pdx) [[HIGHLIGHT]]good vibes, nice staff who are able to act like genuine people (generally a sign of chill management)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I have gone 3 times this week bc it's so damn good. HIGHLY recommend their fried okra and sweet tea. Big fan of this place

I had high expectations for this place, because its always packed. My friend ordered the sweet stack, he enjoyed it. The fried chicken was well fried. I got the fried oysters and the a la carte of brisket, burnt ends, and a side of cheese grits. The oysters were good, the breading was good! But the bbq.. the brisket was extremely dry. I took 1 bite and it was dry and bland. The burnt ends were very dry and lean. I didnt have a good experience with their bbq.

We hadn't eaten at Miss Delta's in several years so we were curious as to what we would experience. We decided to make reservations due to the small environment and limited seating. That paid off we were seated immediately at a nice four top. The gentlemen that waited on our table were very kind and gave us five star service. Now the question was, will the food match the service? My wife ordered chicken and waffles with a side of maple syrup. The waffles were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with the perfect balance of sweet. The chicken was fried to perfection and had a nice season blend that coated. An awesome sweet and savory party going on. I order the two short ribs, red beans and rice and collard greens with a side of cornbread. The ribs were pull off the bone good covered in a nice sweet, slightly tangy and a hint of heat kind of sauce. The red beans and rice good ole souther good with a surprise of pulled pork over the top. The collard greens were cooked perfectly and not too salty also topped with pulled pork. We loved our meal and it most definitely stood toe to toe with the level of service we received. We'll be back.

Delicious!!! Everything was so tasty. 3 meat plate between 2 of us was so much food. The brisket was so tender and everything was flavored well. Highly recommended.

Went here for a work lunch and arrived at opening. Service was average and it wasn't long before we were asked if we were dining in or taking to go. We were given a jug of water and two glasses, so we always had water at the table. I ordered the two meat plate with greens and Mac and Cheese. The brisket was kinda tough but the burnt ends were great. The Mac and Cheese was good, and the greens were good but would have been better if they had meat. We requested meat but they were all out of the pulled pork they use for the greens. The ambiance was fine. Low lighting and clean. Would go back again to try other items.

Immaculate atmosphere and the exact sort of thing we were looking for for breakfast. We didn't get her name but saw on the receipt her name might have been Davi, she was such a bundle of light and life, so attentive and kind! She immediately gave us wonderful recommendations which we all adored. The table ordered praline bacon to share (do yourself a favor and get this), one ordered the praline bacon waffle, another ordered the bananas foster waffle, and I got the seasonal vegetable hash. We were all in HEAVEN with what we ordered. From the first bite to the last it we were all absolutely stunned by how delicious and well made everything was. I savored every bite as did my compatriots. One gal ordered a couple things to go for her family (huevos rancheros for the hubby and cinnamon rolls for her kiddos) and our waitress Davi recommended they bring out the cinnamon rolls unfired so that she could pop them in the oven when she got home after a short drive. It was such good attention to detail that felt like such a friendly offer. Absolute superstars, the lot of you. However, now that I've been a few times, I notice little details like "why do the hostesses continue to seat people right next to each other?". And 2 of the people clearly had some personal "issues" going on and were very disruptive. The space is small, but the visual displays of all the artwork make it a talking point conversation. The Seafood Gumbo order came with corn bread and rice. I've eaten Southern & Northern style foods in the past, but the cornbread was probably one of the worst I've eaten! Dry like the Sahara Desert, and old! I took one look at the Gumbo, and I wasn't sure what it was on top, it freaked me out! It was probably one of the largest clam, but I like mine in bite size pieces, not one as big as my tongue. For awhile there, I thought it was a body of a squid, but I like mine toasted, crispy or fried. There's shrimp, and clams with shells. The taste was so-so, hubby did liked it, so he'll eat all of my portion. I did took a couple of spoonfuls, but that's it! (For now, I'm done craving for Gumbo soup!, Corn bread, too!)
