2 meat plate: pulled pork burnt ends, potato masher and collard greens with pulled pork
Susan Z.

Fried Okra came out super crispy and piping hot inside. On the saltier side but really liked the appetizer overall. Tried the 2 protein with a side of mashers and collard greens - yum! The burnt ends were just okay, the pulled pork was also alright. The honey butter that came with the cornbread was super good!

Hushpuppies

Let me start by saying I'm a Mississippi native with a weakness for hush puppies and Southern-inspired cocktails made with bourbon, whiskey, lemonade, iced tea, and watermelon & peach purée. That was the hook that brought me and a friend to Miss Delta during our trip to Portland. We started our meal on a high note with cocktails and an order of hush puppies as an appetizer. The hush puppies were absolutely phenomenal, so we had high expectations for our entrees. My friend ordered brisket and a wedge salad for his meal, and I ordered a plate of sides with andouille sausage and two fried oysters. Unfortunately, the entrees did not deliver! My friend's brisket was unmemorable, and everything on my plate was some combination of too sweet, too vinegary, too greasy, bland, and dry. While it was indeed delightful to find a restaurant like Miss Delta in the PNW and I don't necessarily regret eating here, this was my least favorite meal of the entire trip. The overall service here was satisfactory.

Super delicious! The serving size for the mac and cheese was well worth the price. A cold weather note: If you go in there first thing when opening be sure to bring a jacket it was very cold.

Visited Miss Delta in Portland and had a mixed experience. The vibe is chill with outdoor seating options, which is a plus. Service was good, but my drink came in a dirty glass. I ordered the pulled pork, it had good flavor but was too watery, and serving it in a paper boat made it soggy. The highlight of the meal was definitely the mac and cheese rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious.

I was in Portland looking for a place to eat dinner. A friend of mine had told me about this place. When we entered the restaurant I was greeted by staff. The staff were friendly and polite. I ordered the 2 meat combo. My two meats were rip tips and fried chicken with Mac n cheese, greens and cornbread. The rib tips and chicken were tender and delicious. The Mac n cheese and greens lack a little flavor. The cornbread was delicious and fluffy. Customer service was up to par and the ambiance is customer friendly.

Four stars is for the food alone, it tastes great. If it was for over all experience it would be 3 stars. My change was kept rather than returned, it wasn't much but let me tip on my own, service was slow, we had to ask for the table to be whipped down it was yucky. Lastly I had hair on my lemon that was in my drink. Undecided if I'd be back but as I mentioned the food did taste good so 3 & a half stars for me but yelp doesn't have that option

We wanted to get cajun for a change and decided to give this place a shot. First of all, the kids meal was a great value. Quite a bit of food for the price. You can never go wrong with banana pudding, I wanted more. We tried a bit of everything from sausage to grits, trashy mac, catfish, burnt, end, gumbo, you name it. We were pleased with all of it. Everything was well prepared with plenty of flavor. We also wanted to try boiled peanuts. Didn't look it up so wasn't sure what to expect. Sure they're a little messy to eat, but the broth they were in was so good our 7yo niece kept dipping her tenders and fries in it. So I'd say that was a hit. Solid food.

Very good food for a reasonable price (which is not common in pdx) good vibes, nice staff who are able to act like genuine people (generally a sign of chill management). I have gone 3 times this week bc it's so damn good. HIGHLY recommend their fried okra and sweet tea. Big fan of this place

I had high expectations for this place, because its always packed. My friend ordered the sweet stack, he enjoyed it. The fried chicken was well fried. I got the fried oysters and the a la carte of brisket, burnt ends, and a side of cheese grits. The oysters were good, the breading was good! But the bbq.. the brisket was extremely dry. I took 1 bite and it was dry and bland. The burnt ends were very dry and lean. I didnt have a good experience with their bbq.

We haven't been here since before the pandemic. We used to love this place. The menu has changed a bit. We had the southern stack, each component was very salty. I ordered 4 scrambled eggs, and this is what I got. I asked the person who dropped the food if this was 4 eggs and he responded "I have no idea." I asked if he could check because it seemed pretty small. He checked and indeed the cook has misread the ticket. They brought out 2 more, which was great. Overall disappointed in our visit.

Delicious!!! Everything was so tasty. 3 meat plate between 2 of us was so much food. The brisket was so tender and everything was flavored well. Highly recommended.

We hadn't eaten at Miss Delta's in several years so we were curious as to what we would experience. We decided to make reservations due to the small environment and limited seating. That paid off we were seated immediately at a nice four top. The gentlemen that waited on our table were very kind and gave us five star service. Now the question was, will the food match the service? My wife ordered chicken and waffles with a side of maple syrup. The waffles were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with the perfect balance of sweet. The chicken was fried to perfection and had a nice season blend that coated. An awesome sweet and savory party going on. I order the two short ribs, red beans and rice and collard greens with a side of cornbread. The ribs were pull off the bone good covered in a nice sweet, slightly tangy and a hint of heat kind of sauce. The red beans and rice good ole souther good with a surprise of pulled pork over the top. The collard greens were cooked perfectly and not too salty also topped with pulled pork. We loved our meal and it most definitely stood toe to toe with the level of service we received. We'll be back.

Two meat plate w/ collards Mac and Cheese.

Went here for a work lunch and arrived at opening. Service was average and it wasn't long before we were asked if we were dining in or taking to go. We were given a jug of water and two glasses, so we always had water at the table. I ordered the two meat plate with greens and Mac and Cheese. The brisket was kinda tough but the burnt ends were great. The Mac and Cheese was good, and the greens were good but would have been better if they had meat. We requested meat but they were all out of the pulled pork they use for the greens. The ambiance was fine. Low lighting and clean. Would go back again to try other items.

First time in, had the gumbo Mac and it was amazing. Would go back again for sure. Forgot to take a picture. The cider was also great.

The Brisket is so tender and juicy (a little fatty but that's okay) the flavor is just divine. The cornbread was FIRE! Compliments the meal perfectly!! The Mac was amazing the right amount of cheese seasoned to perfection I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal. The service was great and the food is cooked very freshly so it is a bit of a wait when you order but it's sooo worth it. I just can't say it now." Times have changed! I haven't had a BBQ brisket in years. I tried it here and although a little small in portion it had a rich flavor, very tender, and respectable sauce. However, it was uniform in color, no apparent smoke ring, and thinly sliced. The service was especially attentive and friendly. The time to serve the food was perhaps a little slow at a time then the place was maybe 1/4 full of customers.

The sauce is making my mouth water just thinking about it. Five stars for the ribs. Excellent. I was a little surprised at the price as I ordered at the register, but I did get two pretty generous sides with it. And I was happy I got to sit inside to eat it in their small casual seating area. Get the skillet corn. Expertly cooked (not mushy) and the flavor was *chef's kiss* I'm considering getting a big side of it to Thanksgiving dinner. I am a bit of a macaroni and cheese connoisseur. I have organized tastings and repeatedly announced that it is my favorite meal, deserted island meal, last prison meal... I'm still processing my thoughts on the mac and cheese here. I didn't like the flavor or texture, but I do think it's a personal preference so maybe it's your thing. Next time I'll try peach cobbler... wait that sounds delicious! Maybe I'll go right now...

It was on time and I appreciate that with catering. The food came in pretty standard aluminum trays but everything was good. The meat was good and the chicken was actually my favorite which was surprising to me, the collard greens were a little extra salty, and the yams were sweet. Honestly I liked all of it, I overate and spent the next hour absolutely useless at work (if my boss reads this please know I worked very hard anyway). Everyone on the team seemed happy and enjoyed the food and it was big portions so we never ran out. We also got the cornbread which I had to literally wait and go get as a second once I cleared some room on my plate. The cornbread was a tad bit dense for my liking but overall very good. Absolutely better than pizza for a team lunch.

Out with the kid for dinner before her big day...... they enjoyed the Oxtails (1 jerk and 1 smoothered), collard greens mix veggie, and beans & Rice. They finished their entire plate!!! I asked for chicken and shrimp Cajun plate. Welp, no chicken available, so I was offered brisket. Asked for honey butter cornbread, yup not available. Before I ordered, I asked for the Cajun sauce to be removed. I was advised it has little kick but not spicy. Let's just say it was a dish I couldn't enjoy or eat. I ate 2 noodles and needed an entire cup of water. I ate the shrimp and a few penne pasta noodles and a few cubes of meat. I ordered the fried shrimp from the picture on Google review. Total disappointment! The restroom are shared with other businesses attached to the location at the rear.
