I stumbled upon a pinchos street wandering around Barcelona and tried multiple restaurants but Pincho J was my favorite. It had the best variety (meat, seafood, cheese) and the best flavors. I like that they refreshed their pinchos if they've been sitting out too long. You know it is fresh then! The layout was perfect. You had the option to sit right up against the counter, tables in the restaurant, or the outside patio (for a small extra fee) The vibes were lively and the restaurant was full. It'll be hard to pick a restaurant but make sure to stop here even if it's just for a bite which you can totally do!

€1 for a "small" pincho €1.50 for a large €2 for a beer Oh, and all of the above is delicious. You walk up to the bar and just grab whatever you want, sort of like a buffet without a sneeze guard. Each pincho has a toothpick in it. The size of the toothpick denotes the price; big toothpick = £1.50, thin toothpick = £1. You put them in a shot glass as you go and when you're done, they tally them up and give you the bill. Affordable and awesome.

This street is filled with similar pinchos bars and it can be hard to choose one. After trying out several other places nearby, I can say that this one has been one of my favorites. The pinchos are relatively cheap (either 1 or 1,50EUR each), and they have better options. For example, lots of their pinchos featured seafood and vegetables while some of the other places I've seen have random fried food like spring rolls and dumplings on top of bread.

One of my two favorite spots on carrer Blai. Get the grilled prawn. It's huge, delicious, and the juices soak into the bread, making it especially tasty. I also really liked the battered squid. Cheap sangria, at 9.50 euro for a liter. There was a line to enter this place when we left around 10:30 pm.

Delicious variety of tapas. It gets very busy. Pick up tapas that you like and save the toothpick to pay. Cheep, delicious, and fun! A must.

Overall, my rating is customer service and their weak sangria. Parking: n/a So if you are on this street/area, there are tons of tapa options. Note: there is a surcharge to sit outside (same as most places( The liter of Sangria was too expensive for being mostly soda/pop. On an empty stomach and with a low tolerance for alcohol, I felt nothing after drinking the enter carafe. Yes I drank it all. It looked pretty. But since the drink is made upon ordering, the fruits never get to infuse the wine. The ladies/servers are friendly and cheerful. But, as I wanted to sit at the window (thus saving the surcharge to sit outside but still able to people watch), the owner/manager was not allowing single patrons to sit at the window. -1 star. During my visit, I observed other single patron sneak a seat on the window. And, for sitting at the bar, there was an accidental toothpick in my cup which they tried to charge me for. After a little bit of arguing, I was not charged. Seriously stressing over 1 euro (which I never ate) - 1 star. As per most places on this busy street, the price for the tapas were pretty much 1-2 euros. Overall, I would not recommend if you are looking for sangria. I should have spent another 3-5 euros at another place on this street.

Crazy good pinchos. All types: Cheeseburger pincho, seafood pincho, jamón serrano sea food. The list goes on and on. Their liter of Sangria was very good and different from the rest we've had here in Barcelona! Great customer service and clean restaurant in nice area. Highly recommend.

There's a lot of pincho restaurants on this block and Pincho J definitely has the best selection! I tried 2 other spots on Blai street and this one was my favorite. The staff is super friendly and they refill their selections quite often. Don't worry if you pick up a cold one, they'll gladly heat it up for you! I ate about 5 and was already full yet decided to grab more because all their selections looked so appetizing! Will definitely be back!

    Drink menu. Sangria was ok

This is a pretty good place for tapas. The selections were plentiful and tasted fresh. Smoked salmon was tasty, chicken leg spicy and mini steak k-bob nicely charred. We ordered a pitcher of Sangria which was ok, but reasonably priced. Service was okay. Wait staff seemed a bit disorganized, but friendly.

We had an amazing time! We had a party of seven and they still managed to go out of their way to seat us at a table. There was a good variety of food, from vegetarian to meat to seafood tapas. I'm not sure how much choice vegans would have, but there are some great meat-free cheese tapas. The sangria was also refreshing, especially on a hot summer day. It was a great location to people watch as well.

If you want to try new tastes, this is the ideal place. On top of the small bread slices, there are plenty of various salads, worth to try. 1.5 € or 1€ per each! You can full our stomach with 4-5 of them.

So imagine a restaurant that sells the same stuff as rest of them on the street. Like a street of bagels.. this place is best of the lot though. I say it as I have tried all of them . The difference is freshness of the bread and the ingredients. They have great variety and flavors. I can at times even taste the Asian side of flavors. I went once with my mom who is a vegetarian and she loves the options available. Definite try if you are in Barcelona.

Great pintxos for 1 euro each!

Most of the pinchos were good. Some seemed old and they weren't warmed so we did not eat them. The service was ok.

The service was excellent, our server spoke English and knew so much about American pop culture. He even sang NSYNC songs to us while serving us dishes. As for the food let's get into it: - Lobster Croquettes (8/10) We've had a lot of croquettes this trip, but these were on another level, get one per person. - Paella (7.5/10) Different style of paella from other places we went. It was almost like a paella curry, which was still rich and delicious. - Squid Sandwich (10/10) This is hands down the best appetizer I've ever had. The squid was packed with flavor and the mayo sauce they used paired perfectly. Order one per person, and be prepared to order another to go. - Garlic Shrimp (8/10) Solid entree paired with sourdough bread. Dip that bread into the sauce and you'll be satisfied. - Aged Beef Steak w/ Foie Gras (9/10) This might be one of the best steak dishes I've had traveling abroad. It was cooked perfectly, and came with a potato crust on the bottom and Foie Gras on top. Definitely a must order. Overall a great experience, from the service and ambiance to the quality of the food, this is a must try when visiting Barcelona. Would I go again? Absolutely!

Cañete was booked out for 2 weeks straight, so we decided to risk it and see if we could get a spot as walk-ins; and were lucky enough to want less than 5 minutes before being sat at the "bar" in front of the open kitchen, which is honestly the best seat in the house IMHO. You get to see all the 'action' and interact with the friendly and often funny staff. Everything in the menu we tried was fantastic, but a few standouts for me were the squid sandwich (do yourself a favor and try it, even if you aren't a "squid person" the bread is fresh, and the butter garlic sauce they use should be sold in bottles at the supermarket), the lobster croquet was refreshing, and the aged beef steak with foie and truffle sauce was delicious and cooked to perfection.

Water is a very pricey item in Europe. We ordered three bottles of water at 2.30 EUR or 2.60 USD each. We did get 30% off our bill! The server was friendly, patient, polite, and very warm. Some toothpicks were just holding things together -- I had to laugh at that -- but it's all part of the charm and experience. La Tasqueta was so good that we came back a few days later for another round, only to find it temporarily closed due to a plumbing issue. Sadly, we couldn't wait since we'd already hiked all over Montjuïc earlier that day. We tried another pintxo place down the block -- it was okay, but honestly, not even close to the same level. I was definitely right on the mark as all restaurants I've walked by before dinner wasn't as crowded as this. And this place had a line out the door. Pan con tomate (toasted bread with tomato spread) was done sooo right here because they used crisp brioche bread and the tomato spread had a nice balanced ratio of olive oil blended into it. The patatas bravas (brave potatoes) took me back to the first time I had this in 2018. Such good crisp skin, soft fluffiness and that aioli mayo signature sauce on top - I swear I feel they make their own sauce for this dish. Grilled octopus here is special as instead of a tentacle - you get a fatty piece with multiple cuts of the octopus. Even better just as you would get multiple pieces of fatty toro in an omakase. I just loved the ease of dining in Barcelona where you share small intricate flavored plates with a glass of wine to balance these dishes. It was a nice long but roomier restaurant in the back. Very deceptive to the eyes but in a good way. You get to see the chefs cook near you that makes you appreciate the work of art put into the food. The restaurant is separated into two main areas, with an earth-tone color scheme that has a rustic, almost cave-like aesthetic. The high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows keep the dining room open and spacious. The tapas menu had a good selection, and we decided on several items: pan con tomate, sweet potato rolls, chicken cannelloni, bacon-wrapped figs, croquettes, falafel, and a charcuterie board. All the tapas were great - my favorites were the chicken cannelloni, pan con tomate, and the charcuterie board. The cannelloni especially was a standout - definitely a unique dish, and the chicken was super flavorful. We opted for dessert, and got the feta whip cheesecake - this was great as well. The combination of tang and sweet was a good finisher to our meal. Service was great - everyone was friendly and our dishes were served at a good pace.
