Bomb ass brunch food in Barcelona! You know they're known for their cured meats, Jamon to be specific so I had to get something with ham for breakfast, lunch and dinner :) Came here since a friend was given the recommendation that it was so good, they ate here twice! All of us got egg dishes as well as the burrata. Everything was super fresh and the food also came out fairly quickly. The orange juice was the only meh thing on the menu. The orange juice was super sour and a bit bitter :( clearly not in season

    Lettuce salad, patatas bravas

Loved everything about La Esquina. Location was easy to get to. The restaurant was bright, airy, lots of space and comfortable. We arrived too early for lunch so our waitress recommended for us to enjoy a coffee while we waited for the start of lunch service. She was very friendly, no attitude at all. The caffe latte was delicious. Half hour later, we ordered lunch. A plate of delicious olives (complimentary), we ordered a beer, patatas bravas, Jamón, chorizo, lettuce salad, tomato bread and a clam. We enjoyed our lunch very much, service was excellent, and when given an opportunity to return to beautiful Barcelona, we'd love to come back.

    Inside; super cozy spot

La Esquina really is located en la esquina. La Esquina meaning "The Corner" in Spanish. It was just mere steps away from our hotel and locals will tell you that this is the place to do breakfast/brunch. There is a country farm feel to the place, and immediately you get a sense of cozyness and relaxation despite the fact that more than likely it'll be pack-jammed full of people. For those of you traveling, I hate to say it but if you're lugging around your suitcase; its gonna be a tight fit. We were told by various people that the coffee here is superb but on the day we went, all of us had room temperature coffee that put all of us off. The orange juice however; freshly squeezed and very delicious. It's evident that attention to detail is given to the food. I was especially impressed with my moms dish. She ordered eggs, potatoes, local ham and the menu described truffles being in the dish. In the states when you read that on the menu more than likely you're either going to get truffle oil or salt, not the actual thing, but lo and behold; actual pulverized truffles in the dish and considering the price point it was excellent. I enjoyed everything I tried here even the simple fruit bowl which had very sweet and very fresh fruit. So despite the coffee hangup; I'd still recommend La Esquina as a food stop.

If you're deciding between a pastry at Starbucks (next door) or this place, go here! The eggs maya was my favorite. The shredded pork is so delicious. This dish is bursting with flavor. The scone was homemade and warm and delicious. It came with mascarpone and apricot marmalade. Orange juice tasted fresh! I would come back here for brunch and try more of their egg dishes. They have a lot of breakfast egg options. The vibe is coffee shop feels and it is great for a lazy Saturday or Sunday.

This place is aesthetic and has really good food! My friends and I needed to eat lunch and this place was super close so we went here. We waited about 20-30 minutes to get seated since the place was packed. It was worth the wait in the humid heat. The place had a comfortable vibe and was cool inside for us to not be hot. Our server was very nice and helped us out in English. I ended up ordering a Spanish Breakfast. All of the food in the breakfast was served in a pan, so you feel extra fancy and photo ready. Best. Decision. For. Food. At. That. Moment. It came with toast and tomato sauce, sausages, eggs, ham or bacon (not sure what it was), potatoes, and extra bell pepper. Everything was delicious. The thing that threw me off but was also very much enjoyable was the sausage. It was a different texture from any other sausage I have tried. I was nice and chewy but also very tender. I was obsessed. That included with all the other flavors and textures that were on the skillet. My friend ordered a side of patatas bravas for us and it was amazing. The sauce was amazing and creamy and the potatoes were nice and chewy. This place had really good service and delicious food (a lot of the food was good because I also tried all of my friends food too and it was just as amazing as my Spanish Breakfast), not to mention it was air conditioned so we weren't burning up while eating. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone in Spain or going to Spain.

Nice restaurant. Barcelona is a magnificent city and this restaurant is in a very nice neighborhood. Nice personnel. Good quality food. Good for brunch.

This was a great restaurant! The ambiance was nice, the restaurant was very clean, and the staff was friendly. They had a nice menu with fresh fruit juices and teas. They also had vegetarian options on the menu which was nice. I got the avocado toast with feta cheese and it was really good! They didn't skimp on the avocado and it was surprisingly filling for one piece of toast. The price was also reasonable. I would definitely go here again.

This place is right next door to a Starbucks and it's no contest. The coffee was excellent and the breakfast selections were equally great. The staff was very friendly and they all spoke English. We are glad we found this place!

The service was excellent, our server spoke English and knew so much about American pop culture. He even sang NSYNC songs to us while serving us dishes. As for the food let's get into it: - Lobster Croquettes (8/10) We've had a lot of croquettes this trip, but these were on another level, get one per person. - Paella (7.5/10) Different style of paella from other places we went. It was almost like a paella curry, which was still rich and delicious. - Squid Sandwich (10/10) This is hands down the best appetizer I've ever had. The squid was packed with flavor and the mayo sauce they used paired perfectly. Order one per person, and be prepared to order another to go. - Garlic Shrimp (8/10) Solid entree paired with sourdough bread. Dip that bread into the sauce and you'll be satisfied. - Aged Beef Steak w/ Foie Gras (9/10) This might be one of the best steak dishes I've had traveling abroad. It was cooked perfectly, and came with a potato crust on the bottom and Foie Gras on top. Definitely a must order. Overall a great experience, from the service and ambiance to the quality of the food, this is a must try when visiting Barcelona. Would I go again? Absolutely!

Cañete was booked out for 2 weeks straight, so we decided to risk it and see if we could get a spot as walk-ins; and were lucky enough to want less than 5 minutes before being sat at the "bar" in front of the open kitchen, which is honestly the best seat in the house IMHO. You get to see all the 'action' and interact with the friendly and often funny staff. Everything in the menu we tried was fantastic, but a few standouts for me were the squid sandwich (do yourself a favor and try it, even if you aren't a "squid person" the bread is fresh, and the butter garlic sauce they use should be sold in bottles at the supermarket), the lobster croquet was refreshing, and the aged beef steak with foie and truffle sauce was delicious and cooked to perfection.

Water is a very pricey item in Europe. We ordered three bottles of water at 2.30 EUR or 2.60 USD each. We did get 30% off our bill! The server was friendly, patient, polite, and very warm. The dishes were reasonably priced. We had a wonderful dining experience at this place. Highly recommended if you visit the area.

Some toothpicks were just holding things together -- I had to laugh at that -- but it's all part of the charm and experience. La Tasqueta was so good that we came back a few days later for another round, only to find it temporarily closed due to a plumbing issue. Sadly, we couldn't wait since we'd already hiked all over Montjuïc earlier that day. We tried another pintxo place down the block -- it was okay, but honestly, not even close to the same level. I was definitely right on the mark as all restaurants I've walked by before dinner wasn't as crowded as this. And this place had a line out the door. Pan con tomate (toasted bread with tomato spread) was done sooo right here because they used crisp brioche bread and the tomato spread had a nice balanced ratio of olive oil blended into it. The patatas bravas (brave potatoes) took me back to the first time I had this in 2018. Such good crisp skin, soft fluffiness and that aioli mayo signature sauce on top - I swear I feel they make their own sauce for this dish. Grilled octopus here is special as instead of a tentacle - you get a fatty piece with multiple cuts of the octopus. Even better just as you would get multiple pieces of fatty toro in an omakase. I just loved the ease of dining in Barcelona where you share small intricate flavored plates with a glass of wine to balance these dishes. It was a nice long but roomier restaurant in the back. Very deceptive to the eyes but in a good way. You get to see the chefs cook near you that makes you appreciate the work of art put into the food. It's kind of inconspicuous from the outside, but the interior gives way to a really welcoming space. The restaurant is separated into two main areas, with an earth-tone color scheme that has a rustic, almost cave-like aesthetic. The high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows keep the dining room open and spacious. The tapas menu had a good selection, and we decided on several items: pan con tomate, sweet potato rolls, chicken cannelloni, bacon-wrapped figs, croquettes, falafel, and a charcuterie board. All the tapas were great - my favorites were the chicken cannelloni, pan con tomate, and the charcuterie board. The cannelloni especially was a standout - definitely a unique dish, and the chicken was super flavorful. We opted for dessert, and got the feta whip cheesecake - this was great as well. The combination of tang and sweet was a good finisher to our meal. Service was great - everyone was friendly and our dishes were served at a good pace.
