Came here with the hubby on our first night stay in Barcelona. The restaurant is small, but has a warm homey vibe. The waitress was so friendly and welcomed us in. We started off with cocktails of course. They were huge and delicious. Everything that we ordered was made to order. Every dish was so flavorful and delicious. The shrimp with garlic and anise was something we never had before but the flavors were unbelievable. And the tomato and goat cheese croquettes!! So so good We really enjoyed our time here. We ate at this gem twice, once before and once after a cruise. Everthing each time was fresh and delicious - best calamari we've every had! We had the patatas bravas both ways, and the artichokes were so good. The garlic shrimp with anise and butter were also delicious. The service was lovely, and looking at and adding to the sketches was fun. Great ambiance. read more

This place is off the charts. I am from NY. Ive been here for 1 week and have tried many place to eat and this one is by far the most memorable. Wow! We started with one red and one white sangria. Both amazing. Then we had the croquettes with ham, decadent!!! Then we had the wow!! Potatoes Barca's with spicy sauce. These were new baby red potatoes and they were just sooo tasty. Then we had the artichokes and the frittata and that too was just so flavorful and tasty. The bread with tomato was yummy as were the grilled veggies. We are awaiting dessert as I type this. I just had to leave a review before I forgot. If I'm ever back in Barcelona I will come here for sure. Wow!! So tasty and the place itself is right off the square but such great ambiance. Charming. This was a last minute find, as I hadn't booked a reservation for the day. We called and they took our reservation right away for 8pm. The inside is super quaint with old building charm. When we arrived, we were able to sit anywhere began munching on Spanish potatoes and croquettes- they were amazing! We followed it ip with the squid and aioli and fantastically creamy cheesecake for dessert. Our waitress was so nice, I wish I remembered her name. Service was also speedy. I drew a picture for their wall of art (there's a notebook and crayons on every table to draw/color with- like you're a kid again but better- you'll be inspired by the art on the wall as I was). read more

All I can say is yes, yes, yes! This was one of my favorite spots in Barcelona! I, 100% enjoyed the tapas and we had a lot! I liked the sangria as well, but I could tell it was mixed with Fanta, so if you want real real sangria, this will not be your favorite, but if you like sweet sangria you won't mind too much. Nonetheless is a "must stop at location". They have two, this is the smaller one. From the food, to the vibe and to the drinks, my husband and I left very happy people. We also went back lol. If you are curious what we ate take a look at the pictures because we had so much. I also very much enjoyed that you could draw at the table and they would post your pictures! How eclectic! We had a total of about 6 tapas and a pitcher of Sangria. Not only were we well fed and toasted but we only spent about 35 euros total! Ha! Yep that was a total win. They had some tables set out on La Rambla which is what drew me in - I didn't notice where the actual restaurant was until well into my meal. The server was friendly, and put in some effort to get me over. This isn't surprising, as it is one of the more touristy areas. Their drink specials finally won me over. My expectations were pretty high, as their patio setup was really nice. When I saw the restaurant itself, the food made a little more sense. It's not bad at all, just a little fast-food-y. I had the calamari, which was probably the weakest calamari of my trip. But it did *not* look like the calamari in some of the pictures posted below, so you might have better luck. This was recommend by a friend that was recently in the city. He didn't disappoint. Small, cozy spot with a gray cabs sangria. I personally liked it better than the red. When we went they didn't have some of the menu items but what they did have was delish. read more

Delicious food. My wife and I got here around 1830 and the kitchen didn't open till about 1900. We had a bottle of cava. Then the Calimari, meatballs and croquettes. AMAZING! The server was such a sweetheart and helped my wife and me out with ordering. (Good thing we didn't order the nachos-they were huge). We then had the lamb burger (which is a must). And ended with a creme brulle (which tasted different than the "American" one but still excellent. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! read more

Visited Palosanto earlier with my family. Really nice looking/trendy interior, and English speaking staff, but the nice interior isn't enough. Absent service (from 3 at the table got their food and until the last one got the plate it took more than 10 minutes, despite several reminders) - and food was nice but not equivalent to the price. We had to ask for the bread and got a tiny portion quite a while later. This place could be superb with the location and interior, though. And the staff was nice and smiling despite the above. read more

This place came recommended by our tour guide so we decided to try it. She recommended the omelette and the artichokes. A spanish omelette is not what you'd normally expect when your order an omelette. It was more like a fluffy quiche and it tasted like it had potato in it. The person who ordered the artichokes didn't much care for them as they were swimming in a mayo sauce. The nachos came with shredded chicken, avocado and sour cream and were delicious. The drinks were a generous portion and the sangria was good. I liked the food, but it wasn't so outstanding that I'd make a special trip to go again. There are a lot of great restaurants in Barcelona and this one is perfectly fine if you are in the neighborhood. Service was friendly and everything was served with a smile. read more

Perfect little spot for delicious bites and great drinks! We arrived in Barcelona mid-week and made this our first meal in the city. As both first time visitors to Spain, we were delighted by the awesome and friendly service. Now for the food: we ordered the nachos, chicken fingers, patatas bravas and calamari. Many glasses of cava. The food was great - chicken fingers had a curry vibe going on with what we think was a cornflake crust. Calamari was light and melt in your mouth. Best of all? All of that for around 30 euro...and server brought us free shots! We ate at two other spots in this area of Raval, and this was by far the best. Go here! read more

First let me say that that the people that work there are the nicest and friendliest we encountered in Barcelona. We visited a couple of times during our stay. My boyfriend likes Martini's and they made the best. Also during one of the visits I left my new tablet there and did not realize it for a while. I had to back track to remember where I left it. I came back they had it for me. Good people. Now, lets talk about the food. Great, great and I mean great Tapas. Our last night we visited 8 tapas restaurants they had listed in a competion BCN, every restaurant offered their best tapas and a small beer for 2,50, it was so much fun! You voted for your favorite Tapa. I voted for La Bomba which is Palosanto's tapas. My mouth waters when I think about it. read more

I've lived in Barcelona, almost ten years ago now and was just looking for a reasonable place to get some good tapas. This is not that place. If you're looking for authentic, this is definitely not that. Let's see the I ordered a caipirinha which was on special and it tasted like soda water. The calamari was fried well but just had mayo squired on it, so lacked a lot of flavor. The chicken croquettes had no chicken in them. The albondigas were way too salty we couldn't even finish the three we had. Even the pan con tomate was on like store bought sliced bread, not even a baguette. The artichoke dish was okay, but sat on a slice of tomato smothered in mayo. This place just did not get it right. The service was fine. read more

I loved this place during my recent visit to Barcelona! I even went back a week later to try other menu items! The staff is so helpful and friendly. They all were able to assist me in English. The Mojitos are delicious, as well as the Pisto vegetable dish, the nacho plate, and the chicken fingers. This place puts their own personal touch on all the options. After eating mostly ham, bread, and cheese all over Barcelona, I enjoyed a change at Palosanto. Go enjoy a nice beverage and some tapas here! read more
