Food was good at best. Nothing noteworthy or remarkable. Service was the highlight of the evening as the guy with the mustache and beard up front was very friendly and accommodating. 2000's alternative, pop, and Beyoncé on the radio, some Latin towards the end. Got the nigiri which comes with two pieces. The truffle was good but way too much rice for the rice to meat ratio. The Matrimonio was a new item with anchovies with jam on ciabatta crostini's but just wasn't my jam. Ceviche was probably the best thing we had that evening. It's made with sea bass, corn, and red onions. We're used to ceviche being served with tortilla chips or plantain chips but this wasn't served with anything so we saved our crostini's and used those to accompany the ceviche. The foie gras and tenderloin was bland and really nothing that stood out. We were looking forward to trying them too. Overall, an okay place to dine if you're in the area but not anything I'd seek out. read more

We first came upon this restaurant 5 years ago when our son was studying abroad. Was a great place to bring him and several friends for a great meal. We really enjoyed it and decided to do the same thing with our next son who is also studying abroad in Barcelona. We were treated so kindly, the service was amazing and the boys left happy and full!! What more could parents ask for!! Well, there is more!! I left my phone on the table accidentally and didn't realize it until I was blocks away. I thought it was long gone. When we went back to see if we could find it there was a server with a big smile on his face and then he pulled out my phone!! Not only are the employees here friendly and attentive... they are HONEST!!! If we ever go back to Barcelona...Lateral will always be on our list of places to eat!! We stopped in for a glass of wine because the place we wanted to eat dinner had a 30 min wait and it was next door. So glad we did! We asked for a suggestion of local red wines and our server let us try several and we loved both that we ordered. read more

I only came here because I was craving gazpacho in the winter and local restaurants would only have in the summer. Tried this restaurant on our 1st night in Barcelona at the recommendation of our Airbnb host. Everything was very fresh and great tasting. We really enjoyed the Fried Artichokes with Iberian Ham, the Salmon Rolettes & the Chicken Salad. Also enjoyed the Dulce De Leche Crepe. read more

We don't usually eat after midnight, but we had jet lag after our 15 hour flights from California. This looked like the only restaurant that was open until 1230am on Sunday. We were so glad that we found it on Google maps. The seafood was excellent, especially the lightly fried calamari. The wine was great and cheap. The service was very good but they did ask everyone to leave at 1230am sharp. I would not order the Spanish omelet again, mostly potatoes and onions. Great place where u can enjoy good tapas without having to renounce a great modern and trendy ambience! Portions are not huge but are acceptable. Everything ordered was lovely indeed. The restaurant itself is very cool, trendy and fun looking, with disco balls and comfy couches. However, the food was less that impressive. I tried the pinchos sampler and the food itself was okay, and definitely overpriced considering the portion and the quality. Wonderful Catalan restaurant. It is a trendy restaurant located at a trendy place in Barcelona. It is a big, spacious minimalistic and modern place, making you feel like if you were at the best place in Barcelona right now. We ordered a large Clericot, which was really good. Then, I ordered a Gazpacho, which was AMAZING. Next, I ordered an Ensalada con bonito, puerro y aceite de oliva, which is mainly a tuna salad, but deliciously prepared. As a dessert, we had a Tarta de Chocolate, that was also amazingly good. This restaurant is also located in Madrid, near El Barrio de las letras. I would return to this place whenever I go back to either Barcelona or Madrid. Definitely recommend this place if you want to eat GREAT Spanish food with a mix of Mexican and Seafood. read more

Underwhelming. Food was ok (gazpacho was great!), but the service was terrible. Overpriced. I ordered 5 tapas (three croquettes, gazpacho, and padrones), waiter repeated my order. I got two items, ate them, and then waited 15 minutes. Waiter came by asking if I wanted anything else, I told him I was still waiting. He nodded, then a few minutes later I got another item. Ate it, waited 10 minutes, and told him I was still waiting. He asked what I was waiting for, I said "dos mas croquetes". So he brought me two more of the croquette I already had (not the two I ordered). Then they brought me something completely different that I hadn't ordered. Only went there because it was late, I was hungry, and my first choices (Tapas 24 or Vinitus) had long lines. Not recommended. read more
