Hit or miss with customer service! Love how organized it is tho! Definitely will still be comming despite attitude

Clothes are beautiful ! But unfortunately the Staff are not. Attitude by the Staff made me not want to come back.

The dresses and women's clothing are beautiful. The Pendleton collection is nice. Unfortunately, that's where it stops. I thought it was just me but after seeing other reviews it seems to be a consistent issue at the Mills location. The ladies that work there are rude. My teen daughters were looking at the dresses for upcoming events. 2 women working, not one asked if we were looking for anything. They avoided eye contact at all cost. But also, strange body language. One of them would just stand in the way of an aisle so we couldn't walk around to look at items on that side. We had to walk back to the other side to get around. And everytime we left a spot, the same lady didn't wait until we were even 6 feet away and then rush to said section to check everything. Like we were doing something wrong, or going to steal. The staff may need some continued education on customer service and common courtesy. Luckily my daughter's didn't pick up on the rudeness and judgement, they were enamored with the gowns. Why would anyone want to spend a decent amount in a store when the employees make you feel unwelcome. We can find this style elsewhere. read more

I've been dying to check this place out but I live so far away, my husband needed to ho to Ontario today so I tagged along to get my change... first of all All these bad reviews are bs lol I walked in there with my green hair and Jammies on looking like i couldent afford a thing , the girls were speaking to another customer when I walked in so I didn't interrupt and went straight to looking as soon as they were done she greeted me politely and left me to shop. When I was ready to try on a dress she did inform me that sizes ran small (can't blame her alot of people ruin cloths trying to squeeze into small items) I tried it on and she was right there to zip me up then allowed me to show my husband who was browsing . I was totally innocent with the dress and it fit perfect . She was ready to unzip me and gave me instructions to leave it hanging if I wasn't intrested but I told her I wanted it. The atmosphere was awesome and the cloths are great Don't listen to the nay sayers and definitely check this little place out!!! read more

I'm sad to leave a negative review because the concept of this store is really cool. I have a formal event coming up and I wanted to get a sparkly beaded dress to wear. I came to the store ready to buy a dress and all of the dresses that they had in stock were in my price point. However, when I walked in, there were three employees there and zero customers, and nobody said a word to me. The three employees clustered together and chatted and joked, and every time I would turn around to ask a question, they would turn their backs to me. There were a few dresses that I knew I would need help with zipping up or pulling the corset ties in the back, and since I was there by myself, I realized that considering how they had already started acting just from me walking in the store. There was no way they were going to help me so I ended up leaving disappointed. Luckily, there were plenty of stores around to choose from so I will absolutely get my formal wear, but I definitely hope that this store can improve on their customer service, especially since it is a great concept and a good price point. read more

I have been coming here for years, and the staff here is always kind and really helpful. I was feeling particularly unhappy with how I was looking in clothes on my most recent trip as I had gained a lot of weight, and they made me feel like a gorgeous goddess. wow, where do i start, ok, my wife and i got invited to a hollywood masquearade party but as usual my wife waited to the last minute to find a dress, so low and behold my wife said,lets go to the ontario mills mall and go to that vintage shop which is pin up bootique. with just minutes to go until the close, two employees worked together to get my wife the dress that was the perfect fit, the employees were jessica and johanna, what a team, they had the patience and professionalism to get my wife exactly what she wanted, and let me tell you, if you have ever dealt with my wife she can be extremely difficult, but those employees came through for us. as the old saying says--a happy wife is a happy life, aint that the truth. thank you to jessica and joahanna from randal and patricia massaro of victorville, calif. you ladies are an asset to the company. read more

I had an amazing time shopping here the other day. I had to grab a dress for a wedding and it can be very difficult to find cute dresses for spooky gals when you need it in a hurry. I found a gorgeous black dress and had the best help from the salesgirl. She helped me find some alternatives and also helped me find a really cute sweater top. I've never written a review like this, but my experience at Pin-Up BOOtique was so upsetting, I feel like it needs to be shared. I walked in genuinely excited--within minutes, I found a dress I absolutely loved. I went to the employee at checkout and asked if they had it in a size large. She didn't even acknowledge me at first. I had to repeat myself, and what she said next was not only rude--it was deeply hurtful. She looked me up and down and said, in the most dismissive, almost mocking tone: "Unless you're a junior, that's not going to fit you." I was stunned. My mom and grandma were with me, and all of us were completely shocked. It was humiliating. I left the store on the verge of tears. I didn't even want to look around anymore because I could already tell I wasn't welcome there. I've never been made to feel so small for something as simple as asking for a size. What makes it even worse is the sheer hypocrisy of it--being judged and essentially fat-shamed by someone who should know firsthand what that kind of comment can do to someone's self-esteem. That kind of behavior is inexcusable. This place is not inclusive. It's not body-positive. It's not welcoming. And if you're not a certain size, don't expect kindness or basic respect. Save your money, your time, and your dignity--shop somewhere that actually cares about people. read more

I'll start off by saying that I absolutely adore the concept for this store. The music and the clothing really set the vibe. It is all very cute and I enjoyed the men's selection of clothes, although I will say it was a bit pricey. However, my experience was abruptly interrupted by the employees at this store. I accompanied my friend who was making a return and I can immediately tell that she was not being treated with respect or kindness. My friend simply did not like the dress when she tried it on but the workers were very interrogative regarding the quality of the dress even though it was purchased the day before. I know teenagers might get a bad rep in this area, but we enjoyed the clothing inside and we were paying customers. I'm not sure if they have had bad customers in the past but they aren't very amicable. It isn't fair to be judged based on first impressions and I really hope the workers can make their service as lovely as their boutique is! read more

Store is beautiful but the staff is so RUDE! They were so dismissive and judged me based off my appearance thinking I was gonna steal. I went In for a return and I bought the item the day before and they were debating whether or not I can exchange it like?? It said on the receipt 2 weeks. First things first , this will be a long review and I want to clarify that the only reason I even bought anything from this store was because of the amazing salesperson that helped me and was so kind and professional towards me (I didn't catch her name but judging from the other reviews her name is Kya& Kya congratulations on your pregnancy! ). This store is lucky to have someone like her because the vibe and treatment that you get from this store is unacceptable and atrocious. The dresses here are fabulous and the quality is good which explains why it is pricey however, the type of workers they have makes you not want to buy AT ALL. From the moment I entered I was ignored by this worker with orange hair who couldn't care less about anybody. The only person that greeted us was again, Kya. I was shopping for a dress and knew exactly which I wanted , it was only the matter of the size that I was unsure about. I'm usually a size 4 and was trying to see if they had the dresses in the color that I wanted and from my peripheral I could already see the orange haired girl just watching with a look of distaste- but still I continued to shop. I pick the colors I wanted and did not even get a chance to LOOK at the size and was immediately approached by the orange haired girl - and for the sake of this very long review , we'll call her Miss orange from now on. So , Miss orange took it upon her to not only condescending tell me that I will NOT fit the current dresses I was holding but will need to size up (fine no biggie) however, the way that she was looking at me and telling me without even LISTENING to what I wanted to say was very irksome and downright disrespectful. Keep in mind I never asked for her help and she just took it upon herself to tell me what I should do. While I'm still holding the dresses that I wanted to try, she's still continuing to tell me that I will need to size up and kept trying to explain to me that the sizes are smaller and that there's a slit so I need to get bigger sizes and was recommending from looking at me up and down that I get an EIGHT ? KEEP IN MIND- I am a size four and she recommended I go up TWO sizes which is fine so why is she demanding I go to a size EIGHT? It was so embarrassing and I felt so fat shamed which is ridiculous ! I'm already dealing with my own health problems and body dysmorphia I did not need her to judge me like that at all , it was terrible. Her tone, her delivery, and demeanor was so wrong and I wanted to scream at her to get away from me. I've never been treated like that before and I wanted to just throw the dresses in her face but stood my ground because I wanted to prove to her that I could fit.. (I shouldn't have to prove anything but because of her attitude I just wanted to keep some of my dignity intact). To continue, I firmly tell her that I would like to still try one the dresses that I currently have and she reluctantly takes me to the fitting room and smiles at me in the most fakest way possible. That was the last encounter with her because I chose to ignore her existence after that which didn't really matter because that was the last time she helped me and she did not try to help me or anything after that, it was all Kya who did all the work after. The dresses did run small however, I was able to fit a FOUR and did not to try on an 8.. with Kya's help , she zipped me up and helped me with the corset and I was able TO BUY the perfect dress that I wanted. She was so helpful and would check up on me, help me with my corset (I tried on about 6 or seven dresses and she took the time and effort to help me EVERY TIME.. you can't beat that type of customer service and her vibe and energy was so kind and helpful). Not only was she helpful, she was also knowledgeable and knew exactly what would work or what I needed. She made me forget about the terrible experience I had and because of her I decided to buy from the store. (Kya if you are reading this you were so wonderful and helpful towards me and i appreciate all the help you gave me and I do apologize for being a bit snappy at first but as you probably read- it was for a reason and I was feeling very judged and hurt but I hope you don't think I'm horrible!) To wrap this up, people be warned of the terrible Miss Orange and come with your guard up. Their clothes are beautiful , I would not spend 160+$ on one dress if I wasn't truly impressed by it but just be cautious and maybe steer clear of Miss Orange. read more

Went in and couldn't go in with my son and niece since they don't allow food and drinks . So I went in alone looking for a certain shoe and as soon as I walked in 3 employees were all staring at me making me feel uncomfortable. I try to show my niece who is outside the store on what she thinks and even she said they made her feel uncomfortable with the stares . I asked for a different color shoe and the answer was just no . I spent $176.30 for nothing and they refused to exchange it. There was nothing wrong with the floor sample. The girl that sold it to me she said to the guy in the register I'm gonna go to the back and get her another one and she already had it in plastic brought it and they just put it in the bag, why was it in the back? Why wasn't it on the floor? Was it already dirty when you they sold it to me and they just refuse to take it back now again, I filed a claim with my bank because you were not going to get my money, if you sold me the merchandise that way that's not fair for the consumer. read more

The THREE employees standing at the counter never left the counter, never quit talking, never helped us until we came to the counter to get help. They were ok when they weren't being disturbed by their customers. Then my fiancée found a dress she liked, but they didn't have her size. They talked about ordering it. Just for kicks I checked the one on a mannequin in the window. TADA her size. For some reason the Three employees can't be bothered to take it off the mannequin for us to buy it right there on the spot. Three people standing around doing nothing refused. We got some bad excuses. I worked in retail and dressed mannequins all the time. We also fully stripped them just for people to try stuff on on them; especially if they wanted to buy it. Absolutely the worst service I ever got. Came in on Saturday February 4th Barely had help with the zipper and I was told I wasn't allowed anymore to try on for dresses. I'm in the store for less than 30 minutes and only tried on 2 dresses. While trying on I can here this girl talk only about how much longer till her shift was over. She did want to help no one. Let alone made me uncomfortable I wanted a vintage style dress for a romantic evening I will be having but after my experience with this store alone, it has absolutely ruined the other locations for me too Very unprofessional and easily lost a customer and even my bf won't be coming back with how I was treated. I was SO excited to shop here as I am brand new to trying on anything pin-up. The selections are gorgeous but a bummer is they have a rule of only trying on 4 dresses tops. I had only tried on 2 dresses & was going to try on two more but the girl stopped me & told me about the rule. It discouraged me from trying on the dresses I was hoping to try on. The girl did know my size right off the bat just by looking at me, & they do help zip you up which was nice. I'm just surprised by how many rules there are. You can't take pictures of what you tried on, they have to help you the dresses (not your family, boyfriend, friend, etc.), & there's no refunds. What's nice is I got to discover brands I like as well as my size. read more

I wanted to like this place. I truly did. I came in ready to spend, and was dressed in my usual gothabillly/rockabilly look from head to toe. Felt the same way at Pinup Bootique as other customers who were snubbed. If you're gonna initially snub me, be equal & snub everyone else along with me. Otherwise, it feels bad, man. Don't ignore me as I pass, then greet & kiss the asses of all the older white ladies and other white people who come in just to be lookie-loos. It wasn't until they realized I was serious about buying that they offered to help me out. A bit rude, though they quickly changed their tune. As for price/selection, they have a good one...though their stock of decent boleros are limited. I bought the last black satin bolero priced at $23. A lot of the basic stuff they sell can be easily found at Santee Alley for 1/4 of the price. They also have a small stock of Kreepsville666 (the octo jeweled necklace is about $23) and a nice selection of retro sunglasses. Hellbunny dresses are $60-70 and higher quality stuff is around $130. TLDR; I dunno if it's a prejudice/profiling thing, but I wasn't greeted AT ALL despite being the ONLY paying customer in the shop that hour AND I was dressed in gotha/rockabilly-esque style to boot. They only seemed to greet white lady tourists. What a shame. read more

I was excited for a few days leading up to finally coming on my day off to find a dress I've been wanting and when I finally came, it was a horrible experience. When I found a dress I wanted to try on I asked one of the ladies to pull a size down for me from the top and she immediately said that it wouldn't fit me. I'm not even that big I was 5'4 135 at the time that I went in. She didn't even try to phrase it in a nice way. She was waaaay bigger than me so I don't understand how she could've said that to a customer. There is no reason to bring someone else down if you feel bad about the way you look. When I finally had her just pull my size down for me she just stood outside saying things like. "It wouldn't fit you. It's too small. It's more for younger girls." If you've been in there before you've seen the dresses and anyone can wear these. While that was going on. The other employee, was saying rude things to my boyfriend who was helping me browse and they wouldn't let him near the dressing room for him to help me decide if i liked it. Definitely that lady in the photos in the green dress was one of the rude employees. I was so distraught when they kept making rude comments I just took of the dress I was trying on and left in a rush. They made me feel so horrible I wanted to cry. Watch out if you ever want to go in and try some things on, they won't hesitate to body shame you when they themselves look worse. read more

How can anybody rate them bad? These girls that help me yesterday on 4/3/2024 were freaking awesome and very thoughtful. They went above and beyond for me because I had to get a last minute gift for my hunny. They were very nice and helpful.
