Nowadays streetwear trends have shifted, blurring the line between casual fashion and high fashion. It's made its way into high fashion, collaborating with major fashion heavyweights like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior, Vetements, etc. to list a few. Kings to me is what pure streetwear is all about at its core. No bots, no asinine reseller mark-ups, no insane pricetags, no bullshit. Just tried and true streetwear styles from iconic streetwear brands that have withstood the test of time. I'm thankful Kings and others like it still exist (Proper, BAIT, Bowls LA and Union are both kind of). I say kind of because Bowls opens whenever they want and Union definitely has a certain audience in mind with the brands they carry. Anyway, maybe I'm looking back at the history of streetwear with rose-tinted glasses, but there's no denying that the fact that a place like Kings can still thrive despite the fact that a lot of boutiques I used to frequent have either shifted to online exclusively or just shuttered their doors permanently is respectable. The fact that you can still walk into a place like this and get some sick drip without playing bullshit games and waiting for drops or buying bots to cop shit is something I truly appreciate. The staff is cool as always and if anything, their selection has improved over the years and they've definitely stepped up (heh) their shoe game as well. Anyway, my very long drawn out point is that Kings is still king when it comes to finding streetwear locally with an excellent selection. They carry all the brands; new and old. It's like Costco. You know very well that's not the case. It wouldn't make sense to have a store that sells bags and shoes where customers aren't allowed to pick them up or try them on. You also know that nothing was damaged at any point. It's disappointing that, instead of simply saying something like "I'm sorry you felt that way," or offering any kind of apology, you chose to take a defensive attitude and continue being aggressive. Another new addition to Asian American Expo, Sneaker Expo!…read more Entry tickets to Asian American Expo, also gave entry to Sneaker Expo along with K-Play Fest and Anime Impulse! This event took place at the same time at exhibit hall 8. For their first year running, it was very impressive that they took over the entire hall and that they had a pretty good crowd going around. To be honest, I am extremely far removed from this kind of culture, but it was still neat to look around. There's lots of, of course sneakers and shoes, of which I assume are high quality and highly sought after and lots of trendy street fashion style clothes. Lots of vintage and anime collaboration clothing which was really neat. Loved how the vendors would decorate their booths as well. There were some cars at this hall, a place to shoot some hoops, and a trading area for shoes too? Perfect if you're a sneaker collector. I didn't think I'd get anything for free here, but I got a free lighter. Nice, thank you ! I also thought it was super funny, but I immediately got hit by a huge wall of vape juice/weed smell entering here haha. Vibes are on point!
