always such a fun selection! i usually stop in during the artwalks where there seems to be even better deals (once had a HUGE selection of jeans for $10!) staff is friendly, helpful and there are items for all budgets. i have found some great items in the $5/$10 racks. the regularly priced items are still a great deal in my opinion-- $25 for a super unique and gently used vintage silk bomber jacket is great and what i would pay if i got it on a resale site, but without the cost of shipping. lots of different kinds of accessories and clothing, for both men and women. always gotta stop by when im in pomona! read more

Girl that works there always has a bad attitude, when I left the store she came out to follow me to see if I stole anything. Absolutely insane. The owner is nice but the girl with the glasses always is in a bad mood, it ruins the atmosphere of the store. The one in Claremont is better service wise. We stop by any time we're at a second Sat art walk or going to a Glass House concert. Cool space, fun to look around. I agree with other reviews that say the items for sale are somewhat overpriced. A couple times we've found something good in the $5 or $10 sales rack that they put out front on weekends. It's a fun place to visit anyhow, so check it out! read more

So excited to come check this place out. It looks very interesting from the outside. Came here on a sat night and definitely won't be back. I personally felt like the prices were a bit overpriced. I understand "vintage" costs a bit but c'mon 15 for a faded shirt!! I'll rAther Pay an extra few bucks for a new one (brand was not vintage btw) scoped the whole place and still didn't find anything interesting. Saw a lot of people walking in and walking right back outside. The shoes section was a bit small. The purse section was barely any. Hair clips for $5 when the same ones cost way less. This store has a lot of cool stuff, some overpriced, in my old lady opinion. My review today is regarding the horrible customer service I just received. I stood around waiting for at least ten minutes - waiting for the store employee to appear. When she finally did, she walked right past me and out the door of the shop, without acknowledging us at all. She was talking on her cellphone. (I probably should have just left at that point but we were there for a very specific item and didn't want to risk having it picked up by someone else before we came back.) This young woman was visibly annoyed at having to ring up my purchase. I asked about another item that was behind the glass counter. She was dismissive and gave me a price that ended up being $5 higher that it turned out to actually be. She snapped at me about it. When she rang up my purchase she added an extra $10 to the total. She said she had no idea how it happened when I questioned the amount. All in all, if my experience with this shop was limited to this one trip, I would never go back. For now I'll just avoid going in if I see her there alone. read more

First time coming to La Bomba it's a pretty big store. It has lost of pretty 60s 70s and even 80s style of clothing. I got invited to a 80s theme birthday party and was looking for a 80s outfit for the party. Once I came in I was Overwhelmed of all of the clothing they have. This place is hipster heaven! They have so many retro and vintage clothing here. Prices are kind of pricey but they usually have the harder things to find...and usually a lot cleaner. I love the staff. Workers are always so friendly and welcoming. I am glad they are still in business and I hope they stay in business for many years to come. Its only of my favorite place to go to when Im at DTP. I always stop by just to check out if they got any new old members only jackets. Just an awesome place to buy awesome things. read more

If you ever have time to kill before a show at the Glass House, you could stop in here, they are usually open... I have been shopping here since I was in high school. Their selection ranges mostly from the 1930s (sometimes even earlier) to the 1980s, with some pretty trippy psychedelic dresses and jumpsuits from the 60s and 70s. They usually carry a selection of gorgeous lace and chiffon cocktail and prom dresses from the 50s and 60s. These are usually the highest priced items in the store, based on their condition--if they have defects though, they will be priced significantly lower! They have a great selection of quirky small t-shirts for ectomorphic hipster boys and girls, as well as many super cool Fight Club style man leather jackets. Lots of men's polyester as well. And of course, the SHOES! Shoes line the racks here, and there really are some beautiful finds from all decades, in all shapes and sizes. You won't find much vintage jewelry here, and if you do it will likely be way over-priced. Overall? A very cool space. read more

I'm always disappointed when I come here. It's definitely got a cool vibe which will attract you in and the staff won't bug you but they're all very friendly. However, in regards to the merchandise, it's generally overpriced especially for the quality. The shoes are pretty worn down and it's not uncommon to discover buttons missing or stains on the clothing. I understand that they're vintage and not really thrift so higher prices are expected but I've found better quality clothing of the same era for cheaper prices at other places like Goodwill. read more

La Bomba is amazing.. My friends own this place.. Which has other locations.... Google it.. I really do like the Long Beach location more so.. Especially the pile sales... I love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love LA BOMBA. I swear, these were one of the places growing up that made life LIVABLE. Right across from the Glass House, this place does NOT cater to "hipsters" or "young punky kids". It's more of an in between. WAY cheaper than Melrose Vintage stores, I like to view this as a GREAT choice for those wanting vintage, need moderately good choices in wear, AND affordable prices. On my way to the Collectors Street Faire I decided to stop by this vintage thrift store. I had heard about this place before and since I was in the area I figured why not. Upon walking in you can already get that hipster vibe to it. Different kind of prints, buncha different fabric textures, all kinds of vintage decor. I wasn't expecting anything but I ended up spending a lot of time in there. Their selection is great. Not big mens selection but they had enough items to have my attention. Tons of old members only, tons of leather jackets, decent selection of dress shirts, and ties and other accessories. The only downfall of this place is that the prices are hipster prices. For a buncha old vintage thrift clothing they sure do jack up the prices. I paid nearly 20 bucks for an old red dress shirt that I found. Ridiculous but they know their target market and they know what is nice so I guess that justifies it? But man I would have bought so much if the prices were cheaper. I only rummaged through the mens selection but they had a large female selection so be sure to check them out. I will definitely come back when I have more money to buy some more items. This might be the most organized vintage clothing store in history. I am always in love with it, they have an amazing selection of great clothes, accessories, and shoes. It's everything you want in a vintage clothing store because of how well it is organized and the incredible selection. It can get a little pricey here and there but it is totally worth it. It was a rare 1930's vintage tail coat and was perfect for my husband's entertainment attire. I grew up in Whittier, and due to the plethora of vintage stores Uptown, I spent my high school days decked out in old polyester button-downs, little boys Chuck E. Cheese t-shirts, polyester leisure suit pants, embroidered peasant blouses and hippie broomstick skirts. These days Uptown Whittier just doesn't have the appeal it did in the '90s. The vintage shops aren't as awesome, and they are fewer and farther between. Enter La Bomba in Pomona. I walk inside, and I feel like a teenager again. There is gold to be found in this store. Krisztina V. found a pair of '60s-era Beatle boots that fit her like a glove for only $10. And they are in perfect condition. The major turn off was their over priced poor quality vintage clothing I would rather go to the Antiques shops around the area. They have similar items to match. Came up to see Hot Water Music at The Glasshouse a few weeks ago and was very pleased to see La Bomba on the side of the street as we looked for parking. It was nice to be able to kill sometime inside before going in for the concert. Some of their stuff was whacky tacky but someones bound to like it. I ended up finding a cool 60's dress that I fell in love with for only $22 bucks. A score in my book! It's a really chill spot. The only reason why I give it three stars is because of the prices - they really kind of turn me off. There are a pair of boots though that I'm eyeing, but that's it. I needed an entire disco/1970s getup for a fundraiser I was attending. I didn't have the time to roll thrift store to thrift store looking for bargain-priced diamonds in the rough. Nor did I have the budget, patience, or time to head straight to a high-dollar vintage store on Melrose catering to fat-walleted Japanese tourists. But as soon as I walked into La Bomba I knew I had come to the right place. The selection of both men's and women's vintage clothes was sensational (and men's pickings were slim in the rest of the antique district). About two years ago I would have not recommend this place but, now its great! I walked in and they have the neatest stuff, like really cool things. Some clothes are over priced and some are a steal you just have to really look. Oh and the staff is just great!
