From there you have the aisles based on country, I always want to skip aisles, but I just cannot, there is always so much to look at, something you haven't seen from the last time. The frozen section holds all kinds of things to try; I like the frozen Indian entrees! They had bangers, Irish bacon and a few Knorr packaged sauces that we can't get anywhere but JJ. They had 85% dark chocolate bars, but they didn't have our favorite English hard candies (Cadbury and Walker's and Morrison's eclairs). IMO they had too much American food that could be bought at any familiar grocery store - but they're good in a pinch! P.S. they had fairly large selections of Indian and Asian foods, but I don't know a lot about those.

United Provisions has turned into decent place to stop for a quick snack. When I stopped by last week, I bought 2 tornado relief fundraising mystery snack boxes. What a nice idea and so nicely presented. My cat enjoyed sitting on the wrapping paper. I've only unboxed one (the other is a gift). I don't want to spoil the mystery here, but I will add that I was a little disappointed that there were no chips or crackers in the box. However, the box value seemed quite good.

We've loved having the challenge of some unique items we would never buy otherwise too. It's been such a cool addition to our grocery items. The store itself is very cute, I'm from the Bay Area and it reminds me of a cool little Berkeley bodega. We loved the herb/veggie plants this spring, love the fresh, local produce (great mushrooms!!!), and local milk! They have such cool, unique ingredients and have really leveled up our cooking. We love buying local, and love that they also support all local vendors. Such a fantastic business.

They sell Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, and goods from other Asian countries. I've recently found fresh and dry Asian noodles at the store for a cheap price, which cost 2-3x more money in other chain supermarkets like Walmart and Target, HUGE plus for World Market. What really took me off guard and surprised me was that they also make fresh and sell various boba tea and bubble waffles with and without ice cream.

Vietnamese/Asian supermarkets are very nostalgic to me from being the number one childhood activity with my mother, and World Market did not disappoint. Every bit of it screamed home to me, from the lingering smell of raw fish and plethora of seasonings to the 7356495 brands for the same jarred goods to the overfilled carts of every mom's meal prep for a family of 4+ for an entire week. The grocery store itself is about smaller to medium-sized and produce seemed okay. What was really fantastic about it was that it had a lot of other businesses incorporated inside of it -- a pharmacy, to-go food on the ready, a dessert bar, etc. I especially loved the premade meals, and they had great variety. Some notable mentions from picking up an assortment of things -- the pandan soymilk was solid; the che khoai mon (taro pudding) was good; the che banh lot (pandan and coconut milk starch pudding) was also good, and I appreciated that it was just banh lot with no extra accouterments; the pate chaud was surprisingly really good (not too peppery or salty, just perfectly buttery and flakey with the right amount of flavor). In addition to not having to hit triple digits for a small grocery run (which seems to be the case everywhere else), it was really nice having so many things available. I'll definitely be back here more often to try more of their premade dishes and for the serotonin.

They did not have this but once the very nice lady that works there knew what I wanted she was able to recommend items I would enjoy. She is so patient and kind. I enjoy the fact that she is extremely knowledgeable about the products and gave me a taste of everything I asked for, even mixing oil and vinegar together for me so I could taste the combination. She took her time explaining the bottle sizes (and a bonus, I didn't know before is that if you keep your bottle and clean them, bring them back and they will refill them with a new oil. It saves on the cost a bit because you don't have to buy new bottles) There is a very nice stock of alcohol as well here and they are all so unique. I am not a drinker so I skipped that but the selection of oils and vinegars is just as impress. They also have things like risotto, spices, chutneys, honey, chocolates and more. It is a very cute and welcoming space where you are greeted, allowed to explore and then assisted which makes for a great shopping experience. There is also a man who works the shop who I spoke with last time and I'd like to acknowledge that he is equally as friendly and knowledgeable about products and very friendly and helpful. Now I want to say here that I really feel when it comes to oil and vinegar you get the quality you pay for. Bot only does Vom Fass stock items using herbs and fruits that are in season but they are truly quality items. I am health conscious so enjoy using oil and vinegar of salads or veggie platters and Lao use flavored oils for roasting vegetables and each time I have used a Vom Fass item, I have been blown away by the taste so their products are definitely splurge worthy. Finally they host wine tastings and meal events that look fantastic and I will be signing up for some events here in the future. The oils and Vinegars are in barrels lined up on the shelves, with labels that show pricing and a brief description. You are able to taste all that they have to offer, just reach out to staff for assistance. I saw quite a few different olive oils i wanted to purchase, but opted to go with the garlic infused olive oil. I did sample it, and it was absolutely delicious. You can definitely taste the garlic. It was almost as if i was eating a fresh baked slice of garlic bread. I'm looking forward to going back and purchasing the chili Olive oil, and the pomegranate Vinegar. The gentleman working at the time stated Vom Fass has been around since 2006. Beautiful clean layout. Plenty of parking outside and friendly staff! They offer tastings in store so be sure to check them out. Also, they are an Eco conscious store, so all their products are in reusable glass containers. Bring in your clean glasses to refill.
