What a lovely shop. It's small and quiet and has lots of kitchenware, what is there to complain? Perfect for preparing for almost anything-picnics, barbeques, catering, they have the right materials. Some of the stuff here is also really cute and not just useful. The great part: It's also reasonably priced. They also have a downstairs which was unique in my opinion. Service was decent. I had heard good things about this shop but I don't live near it and thus had never been in. Last Monday I went. Loved it! I told the two ladies that were working in there that I needed absolutely nothing for my kitchen just that kitchenware and pottery was my weakness. So as I'm looking around, I see a glass dish with a plastic cover that seemed to be exactly what a friend of mine was looking for. So I took a picture of it and sent it to her. She said it wasn't big enough. That she would come by sometime and see if they could order a bigger one. By the time I heard back from her, I had already left the store. So I called the store for her and told them that the depth of the dish was perfect. Just needed to be bigger like 9 x 13. A man answered the phone and said he would talk to the owner about it and have the owner get back with me. And low and behold Walter called me the next day!!! Ya'll!! I was shocked. So many times places will tell me they'll call me back and they don't. He did and he said he had already checked. The company does not make a bigger one. And I just told him how much I appreciated that he even called me back, let alone so quickly! Believe you me I'm gonna make the trip over there if I need anything at all again!!!! read more

I do enjoy this store, It's my favorite shop in Kirkwood! Whenever I visit the neighborhood I find an excuse to visit the store. There are so many great things about this store and here are my top 3: 1) Fiestaware 2) tea and tea accessories 3) kitchen gadgets I collect fiestaware and often find myself in need of a new item. This is where I come and I can always find something new. They have lots of bowls, plates, cups, mugs, etc. The downstairs is basically a fiestaware warehouse and I can get lost in there browsing for things. The prices are reasonable and the color selection varies each visit so there's always something new to look at. There is also a clearance section downstairs and I've been lucky twice now to find a clearance fiestaware item! They have some great flavored tea in store and often times have a seasonal blend brewing for customers to try. Loose tea leaves are so aromatic and brewing it at home is always delightful. I've purchased tea and tea accessories here a number of times. Oh the kitchen gadgets! Always fun things to purchase and try. Cookie cutters, avocado slicer, pizza cutter, pineapple cutter, spatulas, etc. they carry a lot of the OXO brand which I love. I always get ideas for new kitchen gadgets I need when I visit. The people working here are so friendly and provide excellent ideas and advice when I need it. They are friendly and take the time to wrap fragile items when purchased. The store is pretty packed and it's hard to move around whe. It's busy, but just be careful and enjoy browsing. You can probably find some nice gift ideas here, especially if you know someone who loves cooking and/or baking! If you like Fiestaware, this place is a must. Open stock Fiestaware for about 30% off retail. I went on Friday when they introduced the newest color, Meadow. Cornucopia doesn't have every single Fiestaware item in every single color. For example, don't sell the miniature pitchers. But if you're open to multiple colors, you'll find the selection of different products pretty good. And, as I said, those prices! Cornucopia has other things that I am not presently allowing myself to shop. Small kitchen, you see. There is free parking on the street if you can parallel park and if you can find a spot. Parking on the side streets may be easier for you; I have also read that there is a parking lot in the back. read more

It was love at first sight. The moment I walked in and saw the large selection of Lodge cast iron pots, I knew this was going to be a store for me. As I continued through the store, I found more and more items that I wanted to make my kitchen complete. It was as if I fell into my own Pinterest List; Gadgets and Gizmos for my Kitchen. I was totally blown away by the huge and I do mean HUGE selection of cookie cutters. Then I was blown even further away when I saw the price. Each and everyone of these cutters were only $1. I went totally crazy finding at least one to match the personality of everyone on my holiday list. I'm going to work the cutters into the bows on their main gift. After shopping the main floor, I worked my down to the basement where I was totally blown away yet again. The basement was full of Fiesta Ware of every imaginable color; including my favorite color ORANGE. They had everything from plates, mugs, platters, bowls and pitchers. These dishes will make your next dinner party, so colorful. My most favorite item that I found in the entire store was also in the basement. They carry Peterboro Baskets and the prices were so reasonable. I love a great picnic basket and Peterboro has been making them in New Hampshire since 1884. I still have my mothers', but now I think I want one of my own. The gentleman working, as well as the lady both were friendly and knowledgeable. They both did suggestive selling without being high pressure. I'll be back, I've fallen in love with this great little kitchen store. read more

Fellow cooks, beware: you are bound to spend some dough at Cornucopia because there's pretty much something for everyone here! Cornucopia carries all sorts of goodies for your kitchen, from Le Creuset dutch ovens and an extensive All-Clad collection to gadgets, gizmos and utensils to glassware, kitchen decor, linens and cookbooks. They even offer a wide variety of bulk coffee and tea and they have a good selection of Stonewall Kitchens treats (marinades, jams, mixes--you know, all the good stuff). One of the best things about Cornucopia is their sales. Justin and I made off with a 12-quart All-Clad stockpot for only $99, when normally they're $300 smackers! And if you love to bake, you'll be pleased to find a wide variety of baking pans and sheets AND about a gazillion cookie cutters, along with a really great selection of colored sugars, icing dyes and decorating tools. My Mardi Gras king cake just wouldn't have been as lovely without the help of Cornucopia! The service is friendly, but not in-your-face (which I like), the selection is good and I usually have to exercise restraint whenever I'm in the store. Whether you're the cook or just looking for a gift, you're bound to find SOMEthing at Cornucopia. And if you don't, well--just give me the cash you would've spent. Next stop on the Kirkwood Romp (since I didn't buy anything at Strange Doughnuts, but I went in and smelled). All of my girlfriends bought doughnuts. I declined. That is the smallest store I've ever been to in my life. Meaning Strange Donuts. Dang, I like Cornucopia. I've been here before, but I was not on Yelp then. They've got so many kitchen utensils and great vessels, not to mention the gadgets, sauces. An amazing amalgam of offerings. But there are a lot things in here that you can get cheaper (same brands) at Target or Bed Bath and Beyond. I got 1/2 pound of four coffees. I let them do the grinding, though I've got a grinder. The grinder man told me I could get 2 pots from each 1/4 pound. The coffees: 1/2 pound each -- decaf southern pecan, decaf vanilla nut cream, crème brulee and chocolate raspberry. $32.28. Ms T and I made a return visit here after being here about two years ago looking for a double French bread loaf pan. That visit was successful and this year it was about Christmas shopping for daughter Katie T and Ms T's sister. We ended up dropping a lot more than we had planned, not because of the prices, but because we found things we liked at reasonable prices. This is a very nice kitchen store in the great community of Kirkwood. I love that it is packed with stuff and it is fun just looking, if you like to cook and like good equipment. They also have a few gourmet food items. It is certainly a good place to shop for gifts. At our age, we really are not buying a lot of cooking gear so we don't know where there are other places like this other than Williams-Sonoma. I'm a terrible cook but I love cooking stores. I visit them everywhere I go. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the best one ever, right here in my home town. Walter and his team do a great job of picking the cool stuff, so you know you'll see the latest and greatest, but they have all the basics too. When I was doing the Atkins Diet and made a lot of egg salad, one day it occurred to me, "The Ritz Carlton probably doesn't use one of these flimsy wire egg slicer things that make a huge mess." I went to Cornucopia and said that. Scott replied, "No, I suspect they used one of these" and he whipped out a super duper egg slicer with blades. In and out in less than 5 minutes. I've been to this place a lot. we've purchased kitchen stuff, but the primary reason for us to go there is to buy tea leaves or coffee beans. I've tried a few places to buy tea, and those other places weren't very good. I think Cornucopia has the best tea I've found in St. Louis. Coffee beans are my 2nd favorite in St Louis. I've been using a Chemed coffee maker for about 40 years and I chipped mine the other day, so I went there and purchased a new one - very fare price. read more

Super cute, packed little place. Every kitchen gadget known to man is sold here, along with some food items, candles and more. I've found lots of things here that I couldn't find anywhere else. Service is a hit or miss - the last time I went, I asked the lady for something and she told me to go downstairs. I had to look around awhile to find it. There wasn't anyone else in the store, so she easily could've taken me there. This is a charming store with everything you'd ever need for your kitchen, plus a great variety of coffee and tea flavors. I come here to shop for gifts for those people that have everything, and also to buy glassware and Fiesta. I figured I'd pay a little more to shop local, but was pleasantly surprised. The large Fiesta canister I'd priced at $51.99 at Bed Bath Beyond (after the 20% coupon!!) was $49.99 here. The comment about the owner "having the personality of a brick" kinda made me laugh. They have without fail been polite, helpful, and friendly. I had emailed a question to Walter and got a reply within a few hours. I guess if you're looking to socialize try somewhere other than your local kitchen supply store. As others have mentioned, the store has two fronts, one facing Lindbergh and one on the side. I love Cornucopia. Tucked unassumedly on busy Kirkwood Road, the whole atmosphere changes when you walk into the shop. It's really relaxed cooking heaven. There is everything that you could possibly need for cooking, and if they don't happen to have it, which is unlikely, they are more than happy to order it for you. They have all the top-level pots and pans, especially my favorites All-Clad and Le Creuset, plus some European ones. They have baking sheets and every kitchen utensil known to man. They have a side collection of mixes and jams, along with coffee and tea. They even have small kitchen appliances. Downstairs is a virtual treasure chest of fiestaware and more LeCreuset along with picnic baskets for sale. There is so much to look at; I could spend hours in this store, just browsing. I'm not sure pricewise how it compares to other stores, such as Crate and Barrel or Williams Sonoma, but the fact that it is a mom-and-pop store with a special atmosphere makes it worth the visit. read more

I've done a little comparison shopping between a few items at Cornucopia vs. the same item (or type of item) at Target, and there was no difference in price, contrary to what one might expect. For ex.; a french press coffee-maker, pizza stones, peels, wine glasses, oxo products. But Cornucopia has a way better selection of everything.
