Only visited once but food was amazing. It was empty in there at weekday lunch and we had to wait too long for food. The wait staff didn't seem to know or understand the menu when questions were asked. I chalk it up to new wait staff at a brand new restaurant. I went to Pimmys today with my office colleagues. Food was very bad. They had good taste few months back but now it deteriorated entirely. I am "strict" vegetarian (no egg, no chicken, no seafood). Prior placing order, I specified lady server (tall and thin) that I'm vegetarian. She nodded at me and took my order of Medium spicy green thai curry "vegetarian". When she came back she served me with crab meat on side. She did not specify me while taking my order that thai curry is served with crab meat on side. Very stupid and ignorant of her. Morever she did not even offer to replace or apologize for it. They have allergy information written in their menu but they never stick to them. I have been to so many Thai restaurants and everywhere I was accomodated with my desired menu option. Pimmy's management: Guys if you serve crab meat to vegetarian or allergic people then you are supposed to replace that order with a vegetarian one...don't give small plate to customer to remove the crab meat by themselves and have them eat remaining stuff (I was told by server to do that) read more

Pimmy's is a small Asian restaurant in a congested area of Kenosha off of Route 50. The restaurant is very small but for both visits the food was very good and tasty. The prices are fair and reasonable. I have never ordered carry out but on a Friday or Saturday night a lot of people do this. Again, maybe because of the restaurant being small. The only reason is it not 5 stars is because they need another staff member or two to "turn the tables" quicker on those busy Friday or Saturday nights and cut down on the wait times. read more

One word - Horrible. The Larb Kai was super grisly, every other bite I was chewing on chicken grisel. There are no lunch entree's on Sunday, although that is not posted on their website or on or their menu. Portion sizes were miniscule compared to what I paid. Not only that you have to pay extra for white rice, even though you're paying an arm and leg for the entrée. I ordered 3 Larb Kai's and they were so horrible we couldn't even eat them. That with the Basil Chicken (which was actually somewhat edible), one order of Rangoon, and 3 sides of rice were $49. Completely not worth the money or the time. My husband and I have had plenty of Thai and this is the WORST we have ever had. Take the extra time and go to The King and I in Milwaukee, same price and the food is excellent - you receive enough food there for two meals. read more

In Chicago this would be a 3 star at best, the food is better than Kenosha's previous Thai offering but the ambience is a bit Spartan. For the first time made a point of sampling a variety of dishes. The Tom Yum soup was OK I've had better but I've also had a lot worse and it did have just enough heat to be interesting though both the chicken and mushrooms appeared to have just been added to the broth at the last minute and heated through with neither having much flavor on their own, The green papaya salad which is one of the few Thai dishes I make at home was a little under seasoned needing both fish sauce and lime juice in my opinion, I actually enjoyed their addition of fresh green beans and may start adding that to my own version. The Entrée was their 'Jungle curry' with beef. I asked for it to be lvl 5 hot knowing I'd still be wanting more heat, but then the eldest of the three women behind the counter came out to warn me that that curry was very spicy, so my hopes were lifted a bit, after I assured her she wasn't going to scare me off and I wouldn't send it back. At best I'd give the actual heat level a 3, though the green pepper corns added a nice kick and interesting floral note in the background I like Thai food that makes you sweat a little. Normally I'd probably complain about the service but I was in no hurry and the teen that took my order was obviously on her first job and feeling a bit overwhelmed so I'll let that one go racking it up to inexperience and the place being literally weeks old. Prices were fair, portions were typical, and despite the hiccups in service all appeared very eager to please the guests they just hadn't developed the instincts and experience needed yet, it will come I'm sure. I'll definitely be back and hopefully can goad the cook into trying to hurt me a little. I will support this place if for no other reason than Kenosha needs the variety. Overall impression if you're not a glutton for culinary punishment the foods probably spot on but if you're looking for a date spot you might want to consider carry out, or a drive into the city. read more

Counter lady is as sweet as she can be. Food is not that great. Sauces are under-seasoned. Vegetables are watery. I've tried the Spring Rolls, Bama Chicken, and Thai Basil Rice. Spring rolls were too loose to pick up, Bama Chicken was watery with very little peanut sauce (reminded me of a Market Day entree), and the Thai Basic Rice was under-seasoned. Everything needed salt. They've only been open for about 2 weeks so there's that. I hope they improve because Kenosha really needs a good Thai place. I'll give it one more chance in a few weeks. read more

had the red curry. portion size was decent for lunch. however, soup was really just chicken bulion with a piece of brocoli and a piece of cabage. was a little disapointed in that. the crab rangoon was actually decent and had a nice taste. the wait staff was increadibly slow. thats nothing new here in Kenosha. the onlyreason I didnt give it 4 or more stars is xue tothe spiciness of the food. if you have a rating system of 1-5 for hottness, and I ask for exactly how hot is 5; get told that's the hottest. then order it as 5. I expect it hot. it was tepid at best. flavor wise the curry was decent, could have used a bit more peppers. but on the whole good. so if you like it hot ask for a 7 or 8 read more

I've tried this place on 3 occasions. I REALLY wanted to like it (bc it's the only Thai restaurant in Kenosha) - but I've been disappointed every time. Service has been mediocre. Pad Thai is extremely disappointing. The restaurant refuses to adjust the spiciness of a dish to suit personal tastes. Instead, they give you a bottle of crushed red pepper and tell you to do it yourself. Really? This was the worst Thai food I've ever had! A group of us ordered carry out one evening, not only did they get the order wrong we couldn't identify half of the food. I ordered the garlic basil fried rice. I think I found maybe five pieces of vegetables among a lot of brown rice and chicken. I ordered beef not chicken. I also ordered my meal spicy however it came with minimal flavor and three containers I'm some kind of red sauce that I was supposed to pour over the top to make it as spicy as I wanted. I also ordered spring rolls which they were out of so they substituted egg rolls for them. I would have to say the egg rolls were the only redeeming part of my meal. I have ordered garlic basil with rice many times from many different types restaurants and it has always come with some kind of sauce and plenty of vegetables. I just as well should have ordered rice with soy sauce to create my own variety of fried rice. It was dry and tasteless. I am pretty sure it cost them about a dollar to make my meal yet they charged me nine dollars for it. Pretty good profit I would say. My friends meals were no better. One of us who had just returned from three weeks in Thailand ordered the Tum Yum soup. Again it lacked flavor and vegetables and was a lot of broth. Another friend ordered a yellow curry dish. It was mustard yellow alright but I could not find other food with in it. All I saw was a soupy gravey. My friend recommended this place to us and it fits her palette just fine. I am sure she will be back but I for one will find another Thai restaurant that suits me better. read more

This is my second time going to a Thai restaurant. So I'm not too familiar with Thai seasonings and spices. The dish I had was fabulous. My girlfriend ordered pad thai and it was also outstanding. The service was top notch. But a little hard to understand. But the waitress was very knowledgeable in what I ordered. I wanted squid with the meal but she recommended not going with that because the taste conflict with it. So she directed me into another dish with squid. The meals were cooked beautifully. My kudos to the chefs. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable. And for the first time I tried a Thai dessert. I truly recommend the taro root with warm coconut milk. First time we went, the food was awesome. 2nd time, not good at all. I think different cooks make or break it to be honest. I ordered lard nar the first time and it was perfect. Ordered it the second time and it was a few noodles in soup like gravy. The cook came out, and 2 servers all surrounded our table to argue that if I go to Thailand that it how it's made. Little did they know, my husband across from me is half Thai and born in Thailand and my mother in law cooks the best authentic Thai food so just because I'm not Thai, doesn't mean I'm stupid. The food at Pimmy's is good. The flavor is right and the selection is wide. From Pad Thai to curries, you'll sate your thai craving. However, the service is unacceptable. It is slow to begin with and they mess up your orders. In our case they messed up two of our orders by forgetting the meat we ordered. They fixed one but refused to fix the other. We've been waiting for a good thai place in the kenosha area and finnaly got Pimmy's. All my fav thai dishes are delicious there like spicy basil fried rice and pad see ew. We had a wonderful experience our first time here! A group of 8 of us stopped in for dinner before a show and some of us like myself are avid Thai food eaters and some not so much. We ordered a variety of menu items and didn't have any compaints whatsoever. We tried the chicken satay, papaya salad & pot stickers for appetizers and they are all delicious. The presentation was so pretty as well. The chicken pad thai was great and the portion was very large. The beef pad see ew was very tasty and they use a high quality beef- next time I would request extra beef though. The Bangkok fried rice was good; it had big shrimp in it, which was impressive - I added a sweet sauce to the rice and it made it even better! The cashew chicken was devoured by my In-laws so I believe that is yummy too! My husband really enjoyed the tom yum shrimp soup and is looking forward to going back there for more. Overall, the service was great and the food was absolutely amazing, the place is super clean and the flavors are very authentic with a home cooked taste. read more

Visited this place for the first time tonight and thought the food was awesome. I had a difficult time ordering because there were so many delicious menu options, it was hard choose. My wife and I shared the chive dumplings which were ok. The sauce that was served with the dumplings was really good and without it, the dumplings might have been a bit bland. For our main dishes, my wife ordered the chicken pad Thai, and I ordered the green curry with shrimp. The pad Thai was solid but the green curry rocked! I order the spice level at 3 stars, which was said to be hot. It was pretty spicy but had a nice balance with the coconut milk that was in the curry. Overall I thought this place was really good for Kenosha. It's nice to see a different Asian cultural establishment open up in our city. We have WAY TOO many half ass Chinese places here. Pimmy's was a breath of fresh air in our Kenosha food scene, and I defiantly will be going back. read more

Since Thai Gourmet closed I've been yearning for some yellow curry. The place only has about 10 tables, but I like that it's not a chain. My boyfriend and I ordered the chicken satay with peanut sauce, and although it was smaller than I expected (only 4 skewers) it was enough to take the edge off our appetites and the peanut sauce was authentic. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken, nervous it wouldn't be close to what I remembered, but it was AMAZING! I cannot praise the chef enough. I didn't plan to eat the entire bowl but I couldn't stop. My boyfriend even preferred my dish over his own. Level 2 was just enough spice to clear my sinuses without taking away the curry flavor. The rice portions are plentiful. Whatever kinks previous contributors have commented on, I think, have been worked out. The timing of the food being brought to the table was just a little long, but I didn't mind as it's a small place and I assume one cook. I work in fine dining catering, so we're always moving quickly, my one observance is some of the servers don't walk with a purpose, just casually stroll to the tables. Our server was great, though, constantly checking in with us and making recommendations :) I was seriously impressed with this place, I debated to go back the next day for lunch. Please give this place a chance; it's so decently priced, even if you find faults, it won't cost you too much. read more

I was so excited for this place to open, but unfortunately I will not be going back. We got there at opening, and were the 2nd people in there. We ordered and then proceeded to wait 45 minutes for our food. When it finally came, mine was wrong, but it was clear they didn't want to fix it, my husbands was not good and my children's food never appeared. After waiting awhile, we had to go up to the counter and ask where the rest of our food was, apparently it had been given to another table and no one felt the need to let us know. They said they would make another one, which took another 20 minutes! All the while, other tables food was coming out, so ours wasn't made a priority. When it finally came and delivered by the owner I told him how long we had been waiting, he was clearly annoyed that I was complaining and very rude. He made no attempt to comp anything or try to make it right he just made excuses and then left. The food was good, but not worth the waste of time. This place clearly has many issues and I would recommend going somewhere else. read more
