Dinner today was drive-thru. Pick 2: French Onion soup, no croutons, Chicken Cranberry Salad Sandwich and a baguette. The Chicken Salad was purple and was not at all the best flavored sandwich. Panera was as good of a place as any to stop on my drive I've to use the restroom and grab a coffee. First impressions, this location is beautifully renovated. However, I did not love the wall of tablets on which you order. It is so impersonal. I ordered my coffee and expected to be able to get a cup at the front counter, but instead had to go to the order pick up window at the back of the restaurant and come back to the coffee area. It seems there must be a better way for those ordering only their drip coffee. My coffee did the trick and was fine for a quick stop along the way, but I'd certainly want something more relational next time around. read more

The food quality, the service and the overall atmosphere of this establishment has decreased tremendously in the last year we have been coming here. It appears it is time to find a new place to go to after the gym. I quite often ordered the half salad.The half sandwich and it has gotten worse and worse in size and quality. I asked the person behind the counter.Preparing food with his full face beard uncovered.If that was the size, it's supposed to be, he said, yes, that's right.And that's all he had to say, that is not good customer service. I'd give this ZERO srars if I could. This is hands down the absolute worst Panera in history. The the last 6 months they have consistantly screwed up every single catering order. I work for a very large company and we place huge expensive orders. Bagels with no cream cheese, sandwhiches without the chips we paid for, missing key ingredients, 30 mins plus late for a delivery. The last straw was this week they didn't even bother to show up. No food, no call, text. Nothing. When we called about our missing food they said "it's there already". Still no food. 2 hours later I received an email stating they were sorry to see WE canceled our order!! They will never get our business again. When I called Quinton was no help really. I had such a fantastic experience at this location that I just had to share! The new management has completely transformed the atmosphere -- the whole place feels cleaner, more upbeat, and genuinely welcoming. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, I was met with smiling, friendly faces that made the visit feel warm and personal. My meal came out timely, even during the lunch rush, and was made correctly despite all of my custom requests. I ended up staying for a few hours, and during that time I happened to overhear a managers' meeting. The energy in the room was so positive, focused, and contagious in the best way. It's clear that the leadership team is passionate and working hard, and that energy absolutely trickles down to the rest of the staff and the overall experience. I used to come here all the time when I lived in Kenosha. What happened? Our good took a long time and it wasn't busy. My wife went up and asked what was taking so long. They said the were waiting on the salad. It took another 5 minutes while our other food was sitting up there. Soup was of course, not hot or even warm. I had a sandwich. I keep trying to give Panera in Kenosha, the benefit of the doubt, but every single time there's an issue of some sort. Starting with going three days without lettuce. Then the countless times they don't have Parmesan. Who does your ordering? You would think you would've learned by now and not still constantly run out of key components. Also, if you run out, there's plenty of stores very close. Meijer is right across the street, so is Fresh Thyme and Woodmans isn't very far either, so is Costco. Send somebody to get some Parmesan and lettuce. Then there's the one time we decided to eat in instead of ordering to go and it took almost an hour to get our food and my sandwich was burnt, and the soup was cold. I asked for hot soup and they microwaved it. Also, there have been a few times where we tried to order online and they said they were out of something and we pull up to the drive-through and they have it. So they're missing out on a lot of online orders by saying they're out of stuff when they're not. This last time they were out of Parmesan I spoke to the woman in the drive-through and asked who did their orders and she acknowledged that she knew it was a problem too. We had to order at a kiosk type screen and pick our drink cups up at the service counter. Had to pay with card this way, but that was okay. Food came out in a fair amount of time. If Panera Bread was the stock market, they would be in the midst of the worst recession in the history of recessions. I'm not sure what happened over the past ten years but the company seems to be falling apart on all fronts. The menu isn't as good as it used to be -- they decreased the offerings of bread they serve and the baked good quality has declined. The dining rooms, regardless of where I go, are dirty, old, and need to be cleaned and updated. On this most recent visit I ordered a salad to go. The kitchen told me it would be an hour -- they had someone place a online order for 30 dishes and everyone had to wait for that to be prepared. The manager was unwilling, despite a dozen people in person trying to order food, to prepare food for the folks standing in the store. They wouldn't cancel my order -- only offered store credit. This particular Panera's performance seems to be in constant ebb and flow between Really? and OMG UGH!, in search of an ever lower bottom when it comes to customer service or should I say, lack there of. There is a clear rift between those who do and those who face the customers, the the customer facing teammates barely bring their C level game. Orders are constantly taken incorrectly, and incorrectly fulfilled. I mean constantly! Today was a real pleasure with the team seemingly being put out at the mention of ordering some soufflés. Pulled up to the drive-through at 7:55 AM this fine Thursday with no one else to be seen. Goal...order 4 soufflés... two cheese, two spinach bacon. The dialogue went roughly as follows -Hi... do you have a Panera Myrewards number? Me - yes, xxx,xxx,xxxx -what can I get for you. Me- two cheese soufflés. -eeewwww...I'll have to see if we have any...ummm... is there any things else... Me- two spinach and bacon soufflés. -ummm, I'll have to see if we have, (giggle)....ummm Me- ok, could you please check? -oh, ah, yea, sure ...I'll be right back. -About 30 seconds later, -we're all out of cheese soufflés. They only make them a batch at a time but we have the spinach bacon. Me - when will you have another batch ready? -Response garbled, then sheepishly we're actually all out of those for the rest of the day, we're not making anymore. Me - it's not even 8 AM are you seriously saying you're not making any more for the entire day? you're out? -new voice, aggressive - we had to prep for a large catering order and we won't have any more today. Me- you are done with soufflés? For the day? At 8 am? Really? -yes, we're out! Can I get you something else? I went to Starbucks having only filled my need partially at Panera What an asinine reply and an indication of how out of touch you are with your customers desires. This is such a common event here... early morning followed by...we're out :). Here's an interesting data analytics point to consider Panera. How many times on any given morning between open and the end of breakfast do you tell someone... no we don't have that. How many dollars lost is this particular Pan-error because of silly responses and lack luster planning? You mean to tell me you had a catering order and didn't preemptively plan or couldn't whip up another batch baking two batches simultaneously... one for the order one for the shop? As far as I can tell this location only produces two batches of 16 or so a day max. This is a repeat theme of this location. Also, When a teammate has to do some thing, rather than do it and give you an answer, they explain what they have to do to answer your question and then look at you quizzically. When I ask what time it is, don't tell me how to make a watch, just tell me what time it is. Additionally from a process perspective is it the first time you've had to check on soufflés when someone's asked for one either at the drive-through or at the counter??? No happened ever dang morning. Maybe this is an item that you should track or have available at register fingertips (pos?) so that the answers is instantly available versus having to explain to me that you have to go look before you can tell me whether or not you have one. Great then go look, why are we still looking at each other? Is the fact that you're going to have to go look supposed to persuade me note to put you put. Gosh no! I used to like this restaurant in Kenosha, WI Went there today and didn't have a good experience. We ordered our food and sat and waited almost a half an hour for our food. The customers that ordered after us got their food before us. When we finally picked up our order it was wrong. Instead of cup of soup and half sandwich we got 2 cups of soup. I wanted chips and got a stale piece of bread. Both ice tea and green tea containers where empty. The cashier made a mistake and thats why we got 2 cups of soup.The staff don't seem to take their jobs seriously. No apologies and very slow at their job. This is the worst Panera location I have ever been to. Unfortunately it is the closest one to my house. It is 7pm - they close at 9pm. They are out of bread. How is this possible?!
