Wow! I loved everything about our experience! We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner and were blown away by the decor, service and cuisine. Walking in, we were transported to an exotic Palestinian dining room. Fabric draped everywhere, enchanting music playing and the delicious smells wafting in from the kitchen. Our server who is also the owner was incredibly personable. He shared stories of his heritage, answered all of the questions we had and described different dishes with such detail. Everything we ordered was delicious. The beverages were so unique. The mint lemonade was almost like a smoothie. The grape leaves were full of flavor but still delicate. The hummus was truly the best we have ever had. It was light, smooth and beautifully presented. Our entrees were so fresh and delicious. The portion sizes were very generous, so we had another meal the next day. I'm not sure what I loved most - the cuisine or the service. Together they made our visit fantastic! read more

We go to Wisconsin a lot because it's so convenient and there are so many places we haven't been to yet. So I was surprised to see Grill House, specializing in Palestinian food - in Kenosha??, wow!! The restaurant has a large dining area and it's decorated tastefully and there's a large flat screen TV showing YouTube videos. We asked for our chicken kabab for our salad to not be over cooked and it came out very tender. The hummus with meat was very good with pita and Al Bawadi's (Niles, IL) version has steak, as opposed to lamb (Grill House's main focus). The baba ganoush could have had a more Smokey flavor and it was more tart than what I'm accustomed to eating. We were about to leave and the kind owner suggested the kanafa and I'm so glad we stayed for that because it was incredible. Definitely better than Antipeli's (Albany Park) and perhaps a little bigger than Al Bawadi's. FYI, kanafa is made of shredded phyllo dough, cheese, pistachios, and honey - it's the ultimate Palestinian dessert and it's a must try. The owner mentioned having this as a kid, sandwiched in pita bread for convenience, so we did just that and believe it or not - it makes a great sweet, sandwich!! This is a wonderful hidden gem in Kenosha serving tasty Palestinian food! We went for brunch and ordered a bunch of mezza plates. The portions were generous, as well as the service! I thought their tabouli and hummus with meat was the best. Their falafel was good and we even enjoyed some knafa at the end. The layout of the restaurant is spacious and the decor is middle eastern with Arabic music in the background. The booths allowed for privacy to speak to your party but it seemed that everyone was engaged with one another. It's very friendly and it was delicious. read more

I'm not a hummus specialist, but in my opinion, this was the best hummus I've ever tasted in my life. The meats were tender, and did I mention the flavors were amazing? My waitress, whose name escapes me (if you see this i apologize charge it to my mind and not my heart lol) was polite and well-informed about the menu, offering detailed explanations of items I wasn't familiar with. 1st time at the Grill House and it was excellent. I had the Shawarma sandwich. The sandwich came with garlic sauce and I don't like garlic so they put hummus on the sandwich for me. My husband had the chicken tikka sandwich which was a spicy as he liked. Both sandwiches were wrapped in markouk bread - very thin and crisp. The fries were excellent- crispy with a very good light spice. We also shared a small Greek salad that was very big and good. Service was excellent! read more

Kenafa is an amazing desert of goat cheese, wheat flour and almond flour topped with honey and pistachios, a new experience for us. We are so happy we found the Grill House Kenosha for this experience. Grill House is a Mediterranean grill with excellent hummus and tahini, falafel and kebabs as you would expect, but this sweet cheese desert is unique and you can only get it here, fresh made to order and served warm. We wish we could take this visit back for many reasons. Not the cleanest restaurant, lots of smeared glass and the bathrooms needs updating..It was an terrible experience from the start. Sam who is the owner, but claims not to be, was not honest with us. We had other people we know that asked us to try it, because they werent sure they wanted to go back, but they werent sold on it. Although, they said the food was amazing. Now we know why they weren't sure on this restaurant. He left off many ingredients to the dishes we ordered because we told Sam, we havent been to his establishment yet. He smiled huge and wide when he heard that. When our food arrived, When we asked Sam to put the ingredients of the items he has forgotten, we asked him for an menu for proof. He was extremely hesitant on handing over the menu back to us. When those dishes were returned to the kitchen he put the minimal amount on. My partner and I rolled our eyes at each other. Looked at the pictures from our previous patrons as we were beyond disappointed. We decided at this point we weren't going to order any more food. So our entire meal and night was somewhat ruined. We then get the bill from Sam and there is 20% added charge to $87 meal. We ask him what that ls about and he says his handheld automatically adds it and there nothing he can do about it. We knew this was an bold faced lie. DO NOT BOTHER going to this establishment, if the owner wants to lie and rip off his potential customers its not worth going into this establishment at all. Its too bad because we were advised this was good tasting food of an Mediterranean and Indian restaurant. It left us with the nastiest taste in our mouths after his treatment of us. The Grill House is a great surprise. You would never predict the very nice interior based on the exterior of the building or its location. The owner is always pleasant and helpful and offers a nice selection of Mediterranean dishes. Not recommended. I took a group of 9 for an early dinner after an event. They did provide for a reservation (we didn't expert it up be busy but we wanted to give the a heads up so they could have tables ready). We arrived over about 15 minutes (people traveling from different directions). Service was very good, server knowledgeable, and was attentive. Except for a couple who came in after we sat down, the place was empty. The food: the hummus was OK, nothing special. Very mildly spiced if that is your thing. The meals did not impress. Three of us ordered the Mixed Grill. Not impressed. Meat was only warm and for the most part dry. Spices were OK, but nothing to write home about. And did I say dry? Others ordered various kabobs and the reviews were mixed. College student said it was good. The parents and uncle's reviews were average to below average. One meal was reviewed as good- chicken shawarma. We spent $250. This place has been reviewed by many to be far better than our experience. They will need to do far better if they hope to stay in business. read more

A fantastic new addition to our community! The owner was so kind and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had the Kufta Casserole with Tomato and the Chicken Shawarma Platter both were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The samosa appetizer was also a hit! 5 stars because I can't offer ten. A week ago, I had dinner at The Grill House in Kenosha and I am still thinking about what a wonderful meal we had. I had the Mixed Grill Platter. Everything was grilled to perfection. There was nice char on the rips and edges of the meat and the middle was perfectly done. My dinner partner had the Shish Kabob Platter. We both enjoyed the to differently seasoned rice's with freshly toasted almond slivers on top. The baba ghanoush appetizer was excellent. The gluten free Persian cucumbers and carrot sticks with Hummus and a different baba ghanoush was even better. The owner, Rami served us and everything from being greeted at the door to walking out with our leftovers was spot on perfect. I really like middle eastern food and I have eaten in many middle eastern restaurants and The Grill House is one of the best. I will be back at every opportunity. read more

It belongs in a better spot than between the cheap ice cream shop and the mcdonalds. This is an upscale place and you might think it would be cheap. Any negative reviews are written by someone who is used to fast food. Its new and could use a few more decorations, and they should get rid of the old leftover counter and replace it with something new. You can see into the back where the bored kids are on their phone.
