Chicken salad and grapes
Dana C.

Reuben was excellent. Glazed grapes are a real nice surprise. Chicken salad was good, mostly lettuce not something I would order again. Good service, clean, busy and not a lot of seating. Overall the prices are too high but consistently good food.

Cute and cozy local coffee shop that has been around for forever. Many memories of dates and family events here. It is a smaller cafe so on the weekends it might be helpful to call ahead and see the availability. Lots of great natural light no matter where you sit and there is a small clean restroom. They serve Collectivo coffee from MKE and Omega Brewing beer from Omro. One of my favorite things to get here is their giant pieces of moist coffee cake. The portions are huge and everything is freshly made with care. We stopped back in this week and had the Moroccan ham sandwich, the newer Kimchi Reuben, and the corned beef and hash. There is always great service here and they let you hang around and visit with your company without feeling like a burden.

The cornmeal pancakes and local syrup with a blueberry mule.

Saturday breakfast of greater starters, lobster Benedict, and killer cornmeal pancakes. Nice beverage options as well. Service was informative, attentive, and waters stayed filled. And it was a perfect morning to sit outside and not an overwhelming noise of the street. Would have done back to back mornings if they were open on Sundays.

Excellent breakfast and lunch spot in Oshkosh. Super friendly service and a wide variety. The cheddar beer soup was a great way to start.

I searched for a good place to have some lunch and this restaurant came up. I saw the reviews and I decided to give them a shot. It is first come first serve, so you don't have to wait to be seated. There may be a line but when I came, it was just me waiting. I asked for the latte of the day and it did not disappoint. Very good! I asked the ladies next to me what they were having and she had the chicken sandwich and she told me it was great so I went with her suggestion and it did mot disappoint. The sandwich took a bit longer than normal but the service was great. If I ever drive thru this city again, I would definitely stop by.

How is this place real? I've traveled to a lot of places in Wisconsin but I haven't seen many (probably 1 or two) restaurant like Pilora in Wisconsin. I will admit, considering Wisconsin is the cheese state, I did not expect to see that there would be Moroccan chicken for breakfast or as a lunch option- that really took me by surprise. My husband and I decided to check it out on a rainy Saturday morning. We almost didn't go because we were going to leave it for Sunday but we were super thankful we went Saturday because it turns out they are closed on Sunday and Monday (good think to keep in mind!). I really thought it would be absolutely slammed inside and to an extension, it was. There was a twenty minute wait and if you're with two hangry toddlers, then you know twenty minutes feels like two hours but thank Goodness. The hostess was really sweet and seated us as soon as a seat became available. Not just that, she also asked us if we wanted a high chair and made sure that the high chair was at the table before we got there to avoid "traffic" between people leaving, us sitting down and servers bringing food. Loved, loved, loved that! In addition, they were super accommodating about our stroller and provided a small area for us to put our stroller away. In that sense, service was amazing. The waitress came as soon as we were seated to give us the menu. We ordered food for the kids right away- they do not have a kids menu so we just ordered eggs and hash browns for the kids. One of the other main reasons I wanted to go here is because they have collectivo coffee and I am a huge cappuccino lover so first thing is first, give me allllll the cappuccino! My husband ordered the cappuccino while I took my son to the bathroom. I have 2 complaints about this restaurant but none of them are related to food. I really try to give a restaurant the benefit of the doubt and be well rounded in my review but since becoming a parent, I am more mindful of amenities offered by the restaurant that makes parents lives easier so that that may enjoy the restaurant experience more. My one year old needed a diaper change and there was no changing table in the bathroom. I wish there was- I get it, not all businesses have a lot of children come by but it was a bit of an inconvenience to leave my hot coffee to go out to the car to change his diaper and come back to a not so hot coffee. The other thing I was a little disappointed about was that they didn't offer a coloring page for their little clientele. Again. I understand if a business doesn't have much traffic in terms of children consumers but it would've been nice if it was something offered. It would have definitely been the topping on the cake. I'm giving this restaurant 5 stars despite these two things because I think aside from that, they would definitely be on my top 5 best restaurants I've ever been to. The service, the atmosphere, the decor, the food and the coffee was just so great. As for the food, I ordered the lobsters Benedict and my husband ordered steak and eggs. I love lobster but I can't say I've ever had amazing lobster breakfast meals that left an amazing mark but let me tell you, the lobster Benedict at Pilora was WOW. Saying it was amazing is an understatement- they were generous with the lobster portions over garlic bread and easy over egg. I savored every bite- my husband asked to try and I selfishly gave him a small piece because it was so good. I'm still thinking about it now. I've never had a better breakfast meal in all my years of yelping. It was well seasoned, well cooked and with the garlic bread, it just melted in your mouth. I would eat it for every meal if I could! The lobster Benedict came with a side of fruit salad that was essentially grapes, pecan and yogurt. It was so good, my husband who's not a pecan lover couldn't stop munching on it. My husbands steak and eggs were good too- however his hash brown was so good. He also had a choice of fruit but instead went with feta and tomatoes. We eat a different type of feta at home that is more "wet"whereas the feta at Pilora was more dry. Either way, we loved the feta at Pilora mores it was so tasty and different (a lot more light and refreshing) from what we usually eat that we asked the waitress where we could buy it. We've never had hasbrowns like that- actually the restaurant calls them Pilora Potatoes but it's hash browns aka hasbrown heaven. They put a little cheese in between the hash browns and then when you take a bite, it's amazing. Absolutely no self control when eating the hasbrowns. I wish we lived closer so I could go there more often to explore the rest of the menu. As for the coffee, it was amazing. It was so well made and a perfect balance of coffee and milk. We had the homemade carrot cake offered by Pilora after breakfast and with coffee it was a match made in paradise. So, so, so good. Don't leave without trying it.

Eggs Benedict with uncured ham over garlic bread.

Stopped in on a whim to have one of the best brunches our family has had in a long time. Moderately quiet diner with relatively fast, but not overbearing service. We ordered the french toast and eggs benedict. Each dish came with a signature salad. I screwed up my order and selected the tomato and feta salad. I hate tomatoes. But this salad was seasoned so well and blended nicely with the feta cheese, I ate the entire thing. The eggs benedict and french toast were equally really good. Having the eggs over garlic bread is an interesting choice, but it worked out so well. I wish we had this type of creativity back home in California.

Athens salad

We had the athens salad with chicken and the cornbread pancakes with blueberries. Both were delicious. we had to wait about 30 minutes to sit. and out waitress was only ok. Looking forward to going back and trying see new things

Can't recommend enough. The best corn beef hash I've ever had. Incredible eggs. Must visit when in town.

Amazing food and atmosphere! I had the corned beef hash and it was the best I've had!

Breakfast frittata/quiche

I had the most amazing quiche there. The staff were incredibly kind and thoughtful and let me try all the sides instead of having to choose one!

Great place for brunch. I love that they now have kombucha! Smaller place, but wait times have always been short.

How is the coffee there?

Fantastic! It's Colectivo coffee. One of the best around. They also have a Latte of the Day that is almost always a great choice.

A sad experience. We came in to fresh popcorn being made…read more The caramel corn, yummy! The employee said isn't that a good advertisement? Yea! I'm buying! Or not ... I went up to counter to get some. Nope. They do not sell the fresh. You have to buy what is bagged already. They said it is made within 24 H. True? Who knows. I didn't buy anything. This shop is half store, half bakery/cafe/delicious eats! I browsed around the store - which was full of local trinkets, clothing, magnets, and other that was just fun to look around. The bakery/shop was filled with trinkets, souvenirs, clothing, wine, snacks, popcorn and cookies! When I say this is popcorn heaven, I mean any and every flavor you could think of, is here. White Chocolate, Loaded backed Potato, cheese curd, everything! While the popcorn is impressive, it's the cookie bar that's insane....and what we came for! All cookies are made and decorated in house - with the coolest flavors and pairings around. For $15, we could pick 6 cookies of our choosing - all of which were fancier than a simple chocolate chip. I can't remember our flavors, but all were moist, delicious, and reminiscent of a Crumbl cookie - only better! We left with a few Wisconsin items and noshed on the cookies all weekend. If in Oshkosh again, we'd happily return here!

First let me say, I really love the food here and the establishment as a whole is very bright,…read morewelcoming, clean, and just has a good feel to it. The service is pretty good, they're all very kind. But not really as attentive and observant as they should be. We have come here a lot for takeout!! And that's good news because that means we really like the place and the food!! I hope people take this next part with a grain of salt, and I hope the owner maybe keeps this in mind. We went there again yesterday, but we decided to actually dine in. We stood at the bar area for 10 minutes super confused. Do they sit us, do we sit us? There's no sign saying what we should do... The bar countertop was so dirty from other peoples food scraps. It was gross. We kept looking at staff and no one said a dang thing to us..... ‍ what are we supposed to do here? We have never dined in here before. Do we seat ourselves? There's no sign or anything, and why is this counter so dirty? Eventually a table left so we stood by the table for 5 minutes and no one even acknowledged us. Even though we have been staring at employees the entire time. And the table was also dirty from the last people... Eventually we flagged down an employee and asked if she could clean the table for us. She gladly did. But why is this all taking so long? And the bar countertop is also still dirty, we have been there for 15 minutes so far. We sat and eventually realized we needed to order our food at the cash register and tell them what table we were sitting at. All the employees were lovely but not Observant at all. That we have been staring at them and standing around... When we ordered and eventually given our food, There were a couple mishaps with our food, but that's okay because mistakes happen and we're not the type of people who get upset over every little thing. The employees fixed everything. The reason for only 4 stars is because we were there for 1 hour from start to finish, and ONLY right before we left, did they start cleaning any of the tables or counter. They only cleaned our table because we asked. There was a massive pile of dirty dishes on the back counter, and only then did they start cleaning them up. I neglected to take pics of the pile of dirty dishes. To be fair, all the employees were busy the entire time, they weren't being lazy, they always had something to do. BUT cleaning tables and dishes need to be a priority especially during the busy hours. I urge and hope the owner please get a designated dishwasher and table cleaner especially during the busy hours. No one wants to sit at a dirty table with food scraps and sauce smears after someone has left. And also, please be more observant to confused customers who are standing around not sure what to do. A simple, "can I help you" would have really helped, and not made us feel ignored when we were confused. Also, a sign would help, like, "seat yourselves and order at the counter". Because the employees are also wait staff, and deliver food to the tables. It was just so confusing. Hope this helps. But otherwise, the employees were quite lovely when they did pay attention to you, and food is always good. Just be prepared to wait awhile for food.
