While visiting Oshkosh I searched Yelp to find a great place to eat breakfast and I decided to give Pilora's a try. The place was very clean and inviting and the staff was super friendly and offered great recommendations. I tried the blueberry cornmeal pancakes......SWEET BABY JESUS, the pancakes were delicious. I also had a side of the grape salad which was also a nice addition to my meal. I ended my meal by having a green smoothie that was also great. Moving forward, a whole 7 days went by since my first visit and I was craving the cornmeal pancakes badly. So I drove all the way from Milwaukee to Oshkosh to have a go with more food from Pilora's a second time and the food and service was still exceptional. Great job Pilora's! read more

This is a nice little café with a modern feel. We stopped in here for a more healthy option. The place is small seating 40-50 at most. It is nicely decorated with a subtle tribute to autumn. I ordered the Gyro sandwich. it came with a garbanzo bean salad. The salad was nothing more than a scoop of garbanzo beans in a mayonnaise sauce. The Gyro however was fantastic. It was perfectly seasoned beef with cucumber, sliced cherry tomatoes, red onions, and a Greek Gyro sauce all on a grilled flat bread. This was a good hand crafted Gyro. The service was prompt, the staff friendly, the prices reasonable. I would return if in the area again. read more

Awesome breakfast! I had the French Toast w/ pecans. The bread was awesome! It was homemade bread. I also ordered the Apple Waldorf salad for the side. I usually don't like that kind of salad, but that was super delicious. Coffee was great. Prices are perfect. My gal got the Veggie Quiche with Cheesy homemade potatoes and some sliced ham on the side. She loved it too! This is owned by the people that own the Chalice. From what I understand it was originally a breakfast place, but they are starting to do dinners now. I'm from Oshkosh originally, but now reside in CA. I was very pleased to find this nice, little cafe in Oshkosh. They have an interesting and diverse menu selection, Alterra coffee and very nice service. My family visited Pilora's Cafe this morning. After ordering our beverages, peppermint hot chocolate, blended mocha and a vanilla chai tea, we ordered or dishes. I was amazed by how much food you get and the flavors are outstanding. The wait staff was friendly and very informative. The restaurant itself is a comfortable homey environment. We never felt rushed, which is amazing because we were there for a few hours. My favorite foods that I tried today were the corn bread pancakes, I had mine with blueberries and Door Co.cherries. The beef hash, the cheesy potatoes...oh my! The mac n cheese was close to what we make at home. Mind you, I sampled around the table. Wow! We based our visit on the outstanding reviews and we are so happy we did. The hash browns were one of the best potato dishes I've ever had. They were amazing! I was a little skeptical of the cornbread pancakes, but they were a delightful surprise. The sweetness was offset by the tart cherries. Yum. I make it a point to try and stop into Pilora's whenever I'm in town, because their mac & cheese is to die for! It's heavenly! Their sandwiches are good, and the salads as well. Finally. I have found a place to call my go-to eatery for breakfast, brunch and lunch! The food was AMAZING. We had the the cornbread pancakes with pecans, cherries and pure maple syrup (having all 3 was an extra cost but worth it!) and the moroccan chicken sandwich (aioli? some kind of delicious spread, ham, chicken sandwiched between a well buttered rosemary bread). Both came with one side and we chose the apple-pecan waldorf salad and the garbanzo bean salad. Seriously, the best food I've had in Oshkosh since moving here. Service was with a smile and friendly. Decor was cozy and clean. Small (capacity is 54) and it was pretty packed when we got there. We sat at the bar and it's by the door which allows in a cold breeze. However, when she did have time to take our order, she was very friendly. My chief complaint is that the menu is very odd. Several things on the menu almost sounded good, but then one or two things would just be weird about it. Red onions on everything; scrambled eggs seemed to be the only way to get eggs; several cans of mandarin oranges topped a salad. I had an egg salad sandwich and it was okay, but kind of runny. Loved the salad with breakfast. Good jam served with my toast. But my soy milk was on the cusp of going bad. At the point where it doesn't dissolve completely and sinks to bottom of the coffee. I had the eggs Benedict. A little different with scrambled eggs, toast points and turkey. The turkey was the star. In house roasted, a little sweet but still plenty savory. If you're looking for a mom and pop breakfast place, this is it! Super cute, great food and homey atmosphere. The cornbread pancakes and feta chicken are both fantastic, their hash browns are unique and delicious and my mom loved their quiche. We stopped with a group of 4, on the way back from a vacation in the Northwoods. I decided to order the espresso shake- it was amazing! We all tried it and very much recommend it. The combo of espresso and vanilla ice cream was perfectly creamy and had a great flavor, with hints of cinnamon. I had the special, a deluxe mac and cheese, and was very pleased and impressed with it. They added feta, tomatoes, and spinach to their usual mac and cheese bake. I would recommend trying the mac and cheese, even if they don't have the deluxe available. We also shared a cornbread pancake and the Pilora's potatoes. They were both unique, and well done. Wait staff and atmosphere are great. Everything you'd expect for a small town diner, however the breakfast was subpar. They only offer scrambled eggs which tells me that they don't have fresh eggs. Stopped here with my brother for lunch on our way from Green Bay to Madison. Wanted something besides the usual fast food Oshkosh options so based on the good Yelp reviews we stopped here. First the GOOD: -coffee (colectivo) was great -cheesy potato side was good. Basically hash browns cooked with cheese. Good stuff -atmosphere was nice, laid-back, warm and welcoming. -service was fine. No complaints. Everyone seemed nice. Some regulars were at a table next to us and our server was chatting with them a lot The Not So Good: Overall the food and soup was just not that good. Brother had the beer cheese soup and a philly sandwich. I had the wild rice veggie soup and the Eden? Chicken sandwich. Everything and we both agreed just was weird and not good.
