Reuben was excellent. Glazed grapes are a real nice surprise. Chicken salad was good, mostly lettuce not something I would order again. Good service, clean, busy and not a lot of seating. Overall the prices are too high but consistently good food.

Cute and cozy local coffee shop that has been around for forever. Many memories of dates and family events here. It is a smaller cafe so on the weekends it might be helpful to call ahead and see the availability. Lots of great natural light no matter where you sit and there is a small clean restroom. They serve Collectivo coffee from MKE and Omega Brewing beer from Omro. One of my favorite things to get here is their giant pieces of moist coffee cake. The portions are huge and everything is freshly made with care. We stopped back in this week and had the Moroccan ham sandwich, the newer Kimchi Reuben, and the corned beef and hash. There is always great service here and they let you hang around and visit with your company without feeling like a burden.

Saturday breakfast of greater starters, lobster Benedict, and killer cornmeal pancakes. Nice beverage options as well. Service was informative, attentive, and waters stayed filled. And it was a perfect morning to sit outside and not an overwhelming noise of the street. Would have done back to back mornings if they were open on Sundays.

I searched for a good place to have some lunch and this restaurant came up. I saw the reviews and I decided to give them a shot. It is first come first serve, so you don't have to wait to be seated. There may be a line but when I came, it was just me waiting. I asked for the latte of the day and it did not disappoint. Very good! I asked the ladies next to me what they were having and she had the chicken sandwich and she told me it was great so I went with her suggestion and it did mot disappoint. The sandwich took a bit longer than normal but the service was great. If I ever drive thru this city again, I would definitely stop by.

How is this place real? I've traveled to a lot of places in Wisconsin but I haven't seen many (probably 1 or two) restaurant like Pilora in Wisconsin. I will admit, considering Wisconsin is the cheese state, I did not expect to see that there would be Moroccan chicken for breakfast or as a lunch option- that really took me by surprise. My husband and I decided to check it out on a rainy Saturday morning. We almost didn't go because we were going to leave it for Sunday but we were super thankful we went Saturday because it turns out they are closed on Sunday and Monday (good think to keep in mind!). I really thought it would be absolutely slammed inside and to an extension, it was. There was a twenty minute wait and if you're with two hangry toddlers, then you know twenty minutes feels like two hours but thank Goodness. The hostess was really sweet and seated us as soon as a seat became available. Not just that, she also asked us if we wanted a high chair and made sure that the high chair was at the table before we got there to avoid "traffic" between people leaving, us sitting down and servers bringing food. Loved, loved, loved that! In addition, they were super accommodating about our stroller and provided a small area for us to put our stroller away. In that sense, service was amazing. The waitress came as soon as we were seated to give us the menu. We ordered food for the kids right away- they do not have a kids menu so we just ordered eggs and hash browns for the kids. One of the other main reasons I wanted to go here is because they have collectivo coffee and I am a huge cappuccino lover so first thing is first, give me allllll the cappuccino! My husband ordered the cappuccino while I took my son to the bathroom. I have 2 complaints about this restaurant but none of them are related to food. I really try to give a restaurant the benefit of the doubt and be well rounded in my review but since becoming a parent, I am more mindful of amenities offered by the restaurant that makes parents lives easier so that that may enjoy the restaurant experience more. My one year old needed a diaper change and there was no changing table in the bathroom. I wish there was- I get it, not all businesses have a lot of children come by but it was a bit of an inconvenience to leave my hot coffee to go out to the car to change his diaper and come back to a not so hot coffee. The other thing I was a little disappointed about was that they didn't offer a coloring page for their little clientele. Again. I understand if a business doesn't have much traffic in terms of children consumers but it would've been nice if it was something offered. It would have definitely been the topping on the cake. I'm giving this restaurant 5 stars despite these two things because I think aside from that, they would definitely be on my top 5 best restaurants I've ever been to. The service, the atmosphere, the decor, the food and the coffee was just so great. As for the food, I ordered the lobsters Benedict and my husband ordered steak and eggs. I love lobster but I can't say I've ever had amazing lobster breakfast meals that left an amazing mark but let me tell you, the lobster Benedict at Pilora was WOW. Saying it was amazing is an understatement- they were generous with the lobster portions over garlic bread and easy over egg. I savored every bite- my husband asked to try and I selfishly gave him a small piece because it was so good. I'm still thinking about it now. I've never had a better breakfast meal in all my years of yelping. It was well seasoned, well cooked and with the garlic bread, it just melted in your mouth. I would eat it for every meal if I could! The lobster Benedict came with a side of fruit salad that was essentially grapes, pecan and yogurt. It was so good, my husband who's not a pecan lover couldn't stop munching on it. My husbands steak and eggs were good too- however his hash brown was so good. He also had a choice of fruit but instead went with feta and tomatoes. We eat a different type of feta at home that is more "wet"whereas the feta at Pilora was more dry. Either way, we loved the feta at Pilora mores it was so tasty and different (a lot more light and refreshing) from what we usually eat that we asked the waitress where we could buy it. We've never had hasbrowns like that- actually the restaurant calls them Pilora Potatoes but it's hash browns aka hasbrown heaven. They put a little cheese in between the hash browns and then when you take a bite, it's amazing. Absolutely no self control when eating the hasbrowns. I wish we lived closer so I could go there more often to explore the rest of the menu. As for the coffee, it was amazing. It was so well made and a perfect balance of coffee and milk. We had the homemade carrot cake offered by Pilora after breakfast and with coffee it was a match made in paradise. So, so, so good. Don't leave without trying it.

Stopped in on a whim to have one of the best brunches our family has had in a long time. Moderately quiet diner with relatively fast, but not overbearing service. We ordered the french toast and eggs benedict. Each dish came with a signature salad. I screwed up my order and selected the tomato and feta salad. I hate tomatoes. But this salad was seasoned so well and blended nicely with the feta cheese, I ate the entire thing. The eggs benedict and french toast were equally really good. Having the eggs over garlic bread is an interesting choice, but it worked out so well. I wish we had this type of creativity back home in California.

Can't recommend enough. The best corn beef hash I've ever had. Incredible eggs. Must visit when in town.

I was in Oshkosh for a work trip and stumbled across Pilora's one day for breakfast. I am writing this review a few months later because I still think about how good this food was. The ham eggs Benedict is 10/10. I love eggs Benedict and this was one of the best I have ever had. The glazed grapes were delicious as well. I went back the next day and got the Cajun chicken sandwich which I didn't think would be as good as the eggs Benedict, and it was another 10/10!! The service and atmosphere was awesome and I wish I lived closer so I could eat this more often.

I was very pleased to find this nice, little cafe in Oshkosh. They have an interesting and diverse menu selection, Alterra coffee and very nice service. I had the cornbread pancakes and they were absolutely DELICIOUS! I will definitely make an effort to go back for lunch or dinner when I am back in town to try out their non-breakfast options. Note: They are only open in the evenings Wed-Fri. read more

Friggin best brunch in Oshkosh! Cornbread pancakes are always great. Cheesy hashbrowns are like crack. And bonus: Collectivo Coffee. I honestly haven't strayed away from the breakfast, so I can't speak to some of the other comments, but our experience has always been great and we keep coming back. read more

My family visited Pilora's Cafe this morning. After ordering our beverages, peppermint hot chocolate, blended mocha and a vanilla chai tea, we ordered or dishes. I was amazed by how much food you get and the flavors are outstanding. The wait staff was friendly and very informative. The restaurant itself is a comfortable homey environment. We never felt rushed, which is amazing because we were there for a few hours. My favorite foods that I tried today were the corn bread pancakes, I had mine with blueberries and Door Co.cherries. The beef hash, the cheesy potatoes...oh my! The mac n cheese was close to what we make at home. Mind you, I sampled around the table. I am looking forward to trying something new on our next visit to the area. read more

Coffee and salads. I loved them both. I have been to this place for lunch and for coffee. Service was friendly and food was delicious. During lunch, it takes a while to get your food- so be ready to wait. U won't be disappointed. We ordered one time via their take out online ordering... it was nice and convenient. Must visit if you are around Oshkosh. read more

Yum. I make it a point to try and stop into Pilora's whenever I'm in town, because their mac & cheese is to die for! It's heavenly! Their sandwiches are good, and the salads as well. It's a small place, but cozy. The food is healthy and hearty and delicious. I recommend it for sure, and plan on returning. read more

Finally. I have found a place to call my go-to eatery for breakfast, brunch and lunch! The food was AMAZING. We had the the cornbread pancakes with pecans, cherries and pure maple syrup (having all 3 was an extra cost but worth it!) and the moroccan chicken sandwich (aioli? some kind of delicious spread, ham, chicken sandwiched between a well buttered rosemary bread). Both came with one side and we chose the apple-pecan waldorf salad and the garbanzo bean salad. Seriously, the best food I've had in Oshkosh since moving here. Service was with a smile and friendly. Decor was cozy and clean. Small (capacity is 54) and it was pretty packed when we got there. We sat at the bar and it's by the door which allows in a cold breeze. It will definitely become a regular! read more

This place is a great little diner. Not a high-end coffee shop, specifically, but their drip brew is made very well and this morning they had a couple roast options on tap. I asked for the lightest roast they had and it was delicious. I also ordered what may be one of the best Tuna Salad sandwiches I've ever had. Stopped here on our way to Chicago from Appleton Wisconsin and it was a little drive off I-94 but completely worth it! The vanilla chai was delicious, I had the egg salad bagel sandwich that was a big portion and also delicious. The quiche my partner got was also good. Don't forget to get a dessert for the road when you leave, the scotchoroos are amazing and are huge!! read more

While visiting Oshkosh I searched Yelp to find a great place to eat breakfast and I decided to give Pilora's a try. The place was very clean and inviting and the staff was super friendly and offered great recommendations. I tried the blueberry cornmeal pancakes......SWEET BABY JESUS, the pancakes were delicious. I also had a side of the grape salad which was also a nice addition to my meal. I ended my meal by having a green smoothie that was also great. Moving forward, a whole 7 days went by since my first visit and I was craving the cornmeal pancakes badly. So I drove all the way from Milwaukee to Oshkosh to have a go with more food from Pilora's a second time and the food and service was still exceptional. Great job Pilora's! read more

A friend recommended Pilora's so we decided to go there for lunch. The service was slow because the place was packed and there seemed to only be one person working. However, when she did have time to take our order, she was very friendly. My chief complaint is that the menu is very odd. Several things on the menu almost sounded good, but then one or two things would just be weird about it. Red onions on everything; scrambled eggs seemed to be the only way to get eggs; several cans of mandarin oranges topped a salad. I had an egg salad sandwich and it was okay, but kind of runny. The beer cheese soup was tasty but had way too many carrots in it. The coffee was the best thing about Pilora's. read more

If you're looking for a mom and pop breakfast place, this is it! Super cute, great food and homey atmosphere. The cornbread pancakes and feta chicken are both fantastic, their hash browns are unique and delicious and my mom loved their quiche. Our server was an adorable middle aged woman who is reminiscent of everyone's ideal Midwestern mom. We stopped here randomly and were very happy with it. read more

The first time I saw this place I thought it was closed. The next time I saw it, I thought it was abandoned. Then when I saw it again, and for the next fifty or so times, I just thought it as another example of Rust Belt urban decay. But then one day I decided to have lunch here. It was pretty good. Wow! We based our visit on the outstanding reviews and we are so happy we did. The hash browns were one of the best potato dishes I've ever had. They were amazing! I was a little skeptical of the cornbread pancakes, but they were a delightful surprise. The sweetness was offset by the tart cherries. The service was terrific and friendly and reflective of the neighborhood feel of the place. We can't recommend Pilora's enough. read more

Stopped in to Pilora's on our way back home from Appleton and we're quite pleased that we discovered this cute place. Decor and interior was cute, server was pleasant and food came out quick. The specialty salad that comes with your meal is delicious, I had the apple Waldorf. Vanilla chai hit the spot on this cold snowy day. Hashbrowns were yummy with a little cheese mixed in! read more

Guys: this is a breakfast review. Great coffee. Cool environment. A touch of SF cafe in Oshkosh, and having lived across the US and currently in Wisconsin, that alone makes it worth the visit. Good food but not exactly guy food. All eggs are scrambled and are prepared well. . But I like over medium with Tabasco. Mm. They offer ham that's fine. But I like bacon. Mm. Cornbread pancakes are tasty especially with the door county cherries. The French toast looked tempting - couldn't afford the calories. The lovely Maureen loved this place, complimented me for an excellent choice. Points. Bottom line: 4 stars for date breakfast oriented to your other. 3 stars if you want guy breakfast and custom orders. Refreshing vibe cafe in Oshkosh - that alone is worth a visit. Great date place for casual meal. Well prepared, not guy, food. read more

Wait staff and atmosphere are great. Everything you'd expect for a small town diner, however the breakfast was subpar. They only offer scrambled eggs which tells me that they don't have fresh eggs. Also, what breakfast spot doesn't have bacon, sausage, or fresh fruit! I would hope that lunch/dinner is better. read more

Nice friendly up-scale Wisconsin cafe. Waitresses are nice (and cute!) and the first sip of dark coffee put a big old smile on my face! The food is good, delivered promptly, and the waitresses attentive without being intrusive. Try the pecan French toast! (And 'dark' coffee). read more

Stopped here with my brother for lunch on our way from Green Bay to Madison. Wanted something besides the usual fast food Oshkosh options so based on the good Yelp reviews we stopped here. First the GOOD: -coffee (colectivo) was great -cheesy potato side was good. Basically hash browns cooked with cheese. Good stuff -atmosphere was nice, laid-back, warm and welcoming. -service was fine. No complaints. Everyone seemed nice. Some regulars were at a table next to us and our server was chatting with them a lot The Not So Good: Overall the food and soup was just not that good. Brother had the beer cheese soup and a philly sandwich. I had the wild rice veggie soup and the Eden? Chicken sandwich. Everything and we both agreed just was weird and not good. Hate to say it as I dug the atmosphere and coffee but wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Loved the salad with breakfast. Good jam served with my toast. But my soy milk was on the cusp of going bad. At the point where it doesn't dissolve completely and sinks to bottom of the coffee. I had the eggs Benedict. A little different with scrambled eggs, toast points and turkey. The turkey was the star. In house roasted, a little sweet but still plenty savory. I should have just ordered turkey with the eggs and toast. The hollandaise just got lost and added unnecessary richness. Would go back again.looking forward to next year!! read more

ALTERRA COFFEE --richer than any other coffee shop. EGGS BENEDICT --Where are the English muffins? Actually the toast cut into quarters was grainy-good--but why on the side? Fluffy eggs vs. poached--not bad. Thin-sliced ham vs. Canadian bacon--comforting, to be honest. Not exactly what I expected--but I can't say it was not satisfying. SERVICE --waitresses in Oshkosh, so far, are all friendly & attentive. Getting that less & less in California. ARCHITECTURE --1950s roadside-tacky coffee shop. Unimpressive--but at least the mansard roof ain't fake. Encloses a generous loft ceiling. Embraces the dining room--& a comfy corner reading area. read more

We stopped with a group of 4, on the way back from a vacation in the Northwoods. I decided to order the espresso shake- it was amazing! We all tried it and very much recommend it. The combo of espresso and vanilla ice cream was perfectly creamy and had a great flavor, with hints of cinnamon. I had the special, a deluxe mac and cheese, and was very pleased and impressed with it. They added feta, tomatoes, and spinach to their usual mac and cheese bake. I would recommend trying the mac and cheese, even if they don't have the deluxe available. We also shared a cornbread pancake and the Pilora's potatoes. They were both unique, and well done. Overall, if you're in the area for any reason, all four of us would definitely recommend taking a break at Pilora's. read more

The woman serving us poured the coffee into paper cups. When I politely asked if we could have the coffee in cups instead, she angrily poured the coffee from the paper cups into ceramic cups. A few minutes later, she served us cold sandwiches as well. I found the whole situation very upsetting and disappointing. I do not know whether her behavior was related to the fact that I was from another country and whether there was some kind of national or cultural bias involved, or whether she was simply having a bad day. However, the way we were treated made us feel very uncomfortable. I have always had positive experiences at Elsewhere, which is why this incident was particularly disappointing. It was genuinely a very unpleasant and discouraging experience.

Nice place to come get a little work or correspondence done when your own space gets too distracting. That said, if you want to get distracted here you certainly can. I usually take a little time while my coffee is still hot to eavesdrop on all the people around me. From old friends catching up to people who barely know one another meeting to awkwardly get something accomplished for school or work, it's kind of fun to listen in for a bit. But bring headphones in case it's bad. Sometimes it's bad. For some reason every time I come to this Starbucks I notice that the coat hanger in the bathroom is clearly on the nicer end of coat hangers. At least it's not the super cheapo one you see in most public bathrooms. There's just something sort of comforting about being somewhere where a detail so small was given some thought. My experience this time around was a little bit more of a let down hence why I had to take one star off. When I went few months ago, I had burnt coffee which I chalked it up as a one time error. But it happened again with this visit, so that told me they don't really pay much attention to their coffee yet they have a whole menu dedicated to coffee. I also made a reservation on a Sunday knowing it fills up quick and that it might be hard to get a table, however, it was an hour and half before they close which means they tend to slow down around that time. Also, when making a reservation, it'll ask you if you want bar, dining area or patio. I chose dining area. Yet they called me an half hour before to see if I wanted to sit at the bar, which I told them twice in person I do not want to, and as a result the hostess gave me the annoyed/judgmental look down when I wasn't looking. As someone who has owned a family restaurant business for 30 years, that's a big no-no in terms of customer service. It's just rude and unnecessary. Also, they kind of really try to get customers out by 2, which is when they close. By standard at most restaurants, they need an extra hour after closing for customers to take their time with their meals rather than rushing through it, especially if you will sit them 20 minutes before closing time. I felt rushed, and I don't like that feeling at a place I'm trying to enjoy my meal. Would I come back here? Absolutely yes because their food is really the best for brunch in the area and it's cleaner. It just shouldn't be an excuse with certain things like what I mentioned above. P.S. if chicken and waffles happens to be one of the specials, get it. It's by far the best dish I've ever tried there and also my top 3 chicken & waffles that I've tried anywhere. SO GOOD!
