After seeing The Format at the AZ State Fair, one of my friends said let's grab a drink. We hitched a ride to Downtown and after some misses due to long lines and no availability, we ended up at Pigtails. We found two seats at the bar and got a couple fun, inventive cocktails. I asked the bartender for her favorite drink and she said the "Black Magic Woman" which was a blackberry infused bourbon cocktail. It was great, and for my second drink I asked her the most unique drink on the menu and she said "Down The Rabbit Hole" which was tequila based and had carrot among other things and cream cheese foam. Who knew that was a thing? Also delicious. My friend and I were going to have one more cocktail but we decided to check out another bar simply for variety. But definitely a rad spot and I'd happily come back.

Was going to check out Coabana for drinks, and we saw a group go through a side door into Pigtails, a speakeasy bar. No reservations were needed and you could simply walk in. We were greeted by welcoming staff and ordered an Insomnia and a Black Magic Woman, which did not disappoint. We just stopped in for drinks before a show. Service was quick and attentive to getting us food or drinks. Cute bar and a great place to hang out if you are in the area.

Such a beautiful atmosphere, ambient lighting and such lively plants on the walks. The full bar with bottles on display looked like a library of liquor. The bartender Karly, was radiant, kind, and very great at suggesting my boyfriend I in the right direction of flavor to savor. She suggested the Rose glasses for me and Son Of a Peach for him as he's a whiskey drinker The drinks were more delicious than described on the menu I feel because Karly was so good at her mixology. She was very fast at creating the cocktails and very friendly. This was a perfect date night experience and I'd highly recommend it.

First of all I cannot understate the quality of the service I received. Eulalio had other tables, but we consistently got our drinks and food quickly without errors, even when they were on the complicated side. He is a true boon to the business! The restaurant itself is hidden inside another called Coabana, but there is a door clearly labeled Cocktails to get to it. Through the door the hustle and bustle of the busy restaurant outside gives way to a cocktail bar that feels much more intimate, with dark lighting and quieter music than is playing outside. It was perfect to converse and enjoy drinks with friends! This time we went with some friends, and each of us could not stop talking about how good everything was! We started with In To The Blue shots for the table, which were so good we wished we had sipped them. Then we ordered our first round of drinks and food. We shared a plate of nachos and they had the perfect balance of toppings and chips, then my partner and I ordered some tacos and a Cubano Sammie. The sandwich was delicious, much better than the average Cubano I've come across in Phoenix. The tacos were also great, and $11 for 3 was a steal! Our friends also got tacos, which they enjoyed. My partner ordered Cupid's Dagger and the Insomniac to drink, and she loved both of them! Cupid's Dagger was also served with a bubble of smoke and it was on a little silver tray, which was cool. I ordered the Son of a Peach and Femme Fatale, and they were both delicious. The Femme Fatale was also served inside of a wooden cake tray filled with smoke, which was a very cool experience and added to the flavor of the drink. All in all this is not just a restaurant, but an experience. And if you have some money to go out in downtown Phoenix, I would say this experience is not one to miss! If you can, try to get a table with Eulalio because he is excellent!

Overall a great experience! Came here the other night to grab a little bite and some drinks. The oysters were really good and the nachos were fantastic. The nachos had some beautifully charred pork on top with this delicious chimichurri sauce. I decided to be adventurous and try the mystery punch, which wasn't too bad either. Only negative was the service could have been better. The place was not very busy but our server was never around. We ordered some food but when the oysters came out we still had no plates or silverware, which took awhile for someone to bring.

We stopped in right before the ballgame and it was perfect. No wait and plenty of open seats! We only ordered off the drink menu and the four choices we did were all winners.

Cool bar that was hard to find. It's marked on the outside, but you kind of walk through a kitchen then into the quaint little bar. You enter the bar from Central Ave just south of the hot dog place. There were about 8 of us and some weren't drinking and it had a nice mix of cocktails and mocktails. I had the Mezcal Cocktail (I can't remember the name) and it was delicious. We stayed about 45 mins or so and enjoyed the back corner booth. Service was great as he kept checking on us. It was fairly busy, but not overly packed on a Friday night. We walked right in and got the last table. I'd go again and try some more unique cocktails. Fun spot!

Came on a Tuesday and loved the chill, laidback vibe of this speakeasy. Great music and bartenders! Good prices on well drinks and fries also. Would definitely recommend making the walk (it's to the right of Coabana) and seeing this place! read more

A truly distasteful customer service experience. My brother & I came here for the first time and truly enjoyed the rustic, speakeasy, lively atmosphere followed by with the creative and tasteful selection of drinks on the menu. We got seated on the corner end of the bar and halfway through our stay, the hostess makes idle chat with us, very friendly and asks to move a few seats over due to the corner being high traffic for staff and not wanting us to be bothered, no problem. However, a minute later, the hostess seats a woman in the same spot we were in and begins to chat with her for a long period of time (seemingly being a friend). I then realize she only moved us to make space for this friend to chat with. Really distasteful, you simply don't move a customer from their seat where they are already comfortable just to play favorites and place your own special VIP just to talk with them. read more

We've been to the Pigtails in Desert Ridge but had never been to the one downtown. The ambiance is great and the cocktails are delicious. It's a cute speakeasy-Style entrance but not so much that it's super hard to find. We didn't order food but the people next to us ordered sliders which looked and smelled great. This is a great place to stop in for a cocktail on a date or girls night. read more

We got excited to find a new place in the area that served cocktails so we went downtown to check it out. When you arrive you walk through an oyster bar area through a door and enter the bar seating. We ordered a cocktail and decided to place an order for oysters since we walked past the case on our way in. 25 min later they bring out the oysters (I've never seen a place take this long especially if there are only 3 other couples in the restaurant). The oysters smelt AWFUL and after having one no doubt we will be sick for the rest of the night. The waitstaff was uneducated and didn't know how to handle the situation. I would highly recommend educating the waitstaff about oysters if you are going to make it a selling point on your way into the bar. They're sold at $1.00 off because they bought them on clearance several days ago. Don't waste your time, go to Hannys around the corner for better cocktails and a better experience. read more

The ambiance was definitely 5 stars! We were originally seated at the end of the bar and I felt like we were part of the break room for the employees. They were not attentive at all. I ordered my drink right away while my husband looked over the menu. They never checked back with him and we had to get their attention to order. We asked to move to a small open booth which was much better. But even then, we had to flag someone down to order food. I was very exited to try this place out but we will not be back. read more

You might think your in a kitchen when you walk in- Speakeasy style! By far my favorite spot for cocktails and oysters in Phoenix! The "unusual occurrences" is unique and over the top if you appreciate excellent quality gin cocktails. It looks beautiful and tastes even better! The botanical gin (elderflower) mixed with prickly pear, lychee, lime and sparking water makes for a light, crisp and refreshing taste that's not too sweet and will tickle your senses! The oysters are always fresh, you'd never know your in a desert. I love the ambience here; as soon as I step foot inside I feel relaxed. It's a tiny place with modern and fresh decor, I absolutely love the plant wall. Coming from a hot exterior, the copper tables just what you want to rest your arms on! An intimate spot for a date or small group ready to lounge. The service can be slow, but you'll understand when you see your server is also making your drinks. read more

So this was our third night there, and the first and second night was amazing. Tonight we were kicked out cause the bartender had literally two words with one of the people at my party. The convo was, " Hey, what's up" we where here last night." That was it. He just said hello to us. He ran to the host to tell us to leave instead of saying something to us or even have a fuller conversation. He prejudges is with literally minimal communication. What's is it because he was ready to go? Why didn't the bartender say anything and ran to the hostess? That's not her job. This was our third time in and after tonight our last. Sad, even the bartender that remembered us was talking to us. Even after walking out willingly, he was at the door and didn't say two words. Welcome to being a bartender if you think it's wrong then say something to the people's face instead of running off. The hostess even said we were fine but has to go by the bartender. The story is if someone in your party had two drinks. They will say your overly drunk. Also, the bar was dead, and they told us to go somewhere to have a drink to wait for an opening. We had to put some effort into finding this place. After being drawn in by the smell of bacon, we stumbled into a kitchen where the chefs were hard at work. We then discovered the secret that they keep. A hidden gem that offers a variety of cocktails . The bartender Bud was quick to welcome us in. He was quick to point us in the right direction of what we didn't know we needed, A fruity pebbles drink, and some amazing food to match. We will be sure to be back. read more

This bar is absolutely spectacular the service is phenomenal and the drinks are amazing. The staff are the friendliest people I've ever encountered, And they will go the extra mile to accommodate your drink requests even if they are really weird. This bar is a great place to bring your friends for a night out If you are looking for a good solid fun time with friendly service. Okay I am willing to update this review if I have a better experience the next time we check it out. But it's getting two because first of all: We went on my birthday, & our party of 7 got rejected because the OWNER was coming in with his buddies on a SATURDAY night and reserved the only booth. I guess it's your business but that's just a poor choice in my opinion. So we asked to come back at a later time (which by the way, we were there at 5:30 & the owner wasn't coming in until 7 yet we were still denied the booth), the host told us that we could come back around 10 but they would text us. They texted us at 11:30. LOL. We were living it up at copper blues which was way more fun, gave us free birthday shots & a killer table so we were not going to leave the live music & good time to give business to a guy who literally denied us a table. read more

The vibe was super chill, and we lucked out with a booth tucked in the back corner - perfect for our crew. I ordered the Sticky Situation (mezcal, mango, piment, lemon, coconut) and it was absolutely delicious - bright, citrusy, and refreshing with just the right balance of smoke and sweetness. Easily one of my favorite cocktails of the night. Service was top-notch. Our waiter brought great energy, kept the waters flowing right when we sat down, and checked in often without ever hovering. Even one of the bartenders got in on the fun - I was doing a scavenger hunt and needed to tell a stranger a joke, and he happily played along.
