This is a restaurant we have had bookmarked for quite sometime and we finally made it in. Just WOW! The service is excellent, friendly, and helpful. The food is fresh, great quality (they use painted hills beef, if ya know, ya know!), and most importantly DELICIOUS! This place is definitely a gem. Everything is made fresh from the hand cut fries to the house made sauces/aoli! You can tell they take pride in the quality of their ingredients, using local PNW ingredients. The Rockfish is perfectly battered with a nice crunch! We will definitely be telling our friends about this place. Can't wait to go back and try more of their food!

Return visit to the Pigfish Cafe is always a treat for me, whether I'm returning home from the airport, awaiting routine car maintenance, or in this case, both. So good to be welcomed by Mario, the owner. Food was out in a jiffy, and smells soooooo good! Can't wait to dig in!

We came here to try the fish & chips but didn't expect to be so delighted by the burger as well! If you love a crispy, fluffy batter, this is the place for you. We were impressed by how the fish stayed perfectly moist inside while delivering a satisfying crunch. We only got one piece for the fish and chips, but it was a hefty portion with a decent amount of fries. The pigfish burger seemed simple at first glance--just a classic burger on paper--but it had so many great layers: smoky bacon, a sturdy bun, a nice char, a well-seasoned patty, yummy cheese, and a delicious house aioli. Sometimes, a simple burger done right hits the spot best! We'll definitely be back--either to order these again or to try their rotating specials.

I enjoyed coming here! The neighborhood and shop itself are very cute. I ordered the spicy fish sandwich which came with fries but I upgraded to truffle fries. My boyfriend got the fish tacos and upgraded his salad to garlic Asiago fries. The batter on the fish was suuuuper light and crispy. I marveled at how something fried could taste so light! Servings were also generous. Would definitely come back. Not much seating though. Only 2 booths, I think 2-3 tables, and some window seating. Not great for large crowds. Probably a party of 4 or less. I overhear: one of the workers say they make their own tartar sauce so that was cool. My only complaint was that the fries were incredibly oily. When we moved the paper boat the fries came in, there was a little puddle of oil and the paper was soaked through. Also didn't think the spicy fish sandwich was spicy.

I have been going here for about 3+yrs and the food just keeps getting better. The portion sizes are worth the price, quick service and the food is always freshly made. It's quiet but cozy and the it's in downtown Burien so you can stop by and see other shops while you are there. Highly recommend trying it out if your near:)

Fish but mostly breading, chewy and bland

Bummed we keep striking out here. The first time we went was awesome, and the back patio was a nice addition especially for families; now we've ordered a handful of times over the last few years and it seems like unless it's a burger something is just off. If you like a ton of breading that's gummy and chewy fish then you'll like the fish and chips, also most of the fries are basically all skin now. Burgers and crispy chicken still seem decent. We added coleslaw this time and it was flavored with horseradish which was not listed on the menu picker. Bummed and will likely go less often.

Best fish and chips I have had in a long time! The outside was crispy but the fish was still flaky and moist. They service was excellent and the patio is a beautiful spot for a beer and fries. Thoroughly enjoyed this experience!

Stopped in on a Friday night for dinner, just before 6p and it wasn't busy. Counter staff was friendly and patient as we looked over the menu. We settled on the Spicy Fish Burger and kids cheese burger meal. Spicy Fish was a crispy beer battered filet with spicy mayo on a crisp salty pickles bed. Cheese burger was pretty standard but my son appreciated the pickles being left on the side. You can never go wrong with fresh cut fries.. they were salted to perfection. All in all I would return and try something else on the menu, since there were several other options that looked appealing like the pastrami on rye or pigfish burger or caramelized onion burger.. all paired with hand cut fries feels like a win!

My family and I love Pig Fish! The best fish sandwich I've ever had, honestly and truly! And I don't really like fish sandwiches like that and to even crave them but Pig Fish Cafe has made the one for me! Consistently delicious, a pretty big cut of beer battered rock fish fried to fluffy perfection, light and not too heavy. Dressed with a little veg and their house made tartar sauce on a warm brioche bun! If a fish sandwich would be decadent in all the right ways this one is! They also have great fish n chips, tacos, varieties of burgers/sandwiches, meals for kiddos and specials. The restaurant is small but very welcoming! They have a counter at the entrance window with 4 seats, three 2-4 seater booths, and a little patio out back that has a back yard vibe. You pay up front and they bring your meal to you. Customer service is always good and helpful. Like I said the best fish sandwich everrrr (in my opinion) go try for yourself!

My family and I were starving after our flight into Seattle. I was craving sandwiches and my son was craving fries, so we were pretty excited to find Pigfish nearby on the Yelp app. Unfortunately, we felt that the restaurant did not live up to our expectations. The food was decent but not 5 stars good. The Pigfish Burger had really good ingredients. There was a super fatty (and super delicious) beef patty that was covered in heavy mayo sauce. The first few bites were really tasty, but you really needed something to balance out the fat over time. The Hot Pastrami had barely any pastrami and a lot of mustard, so the mustard over-powered the actually pastrami. As for the fries, we upgraded to the truffle fries for one of our dishes. I think it could have been a real star but the fries themselves were not very crispy. They felt like they could have used another minute or two in the fryer. The truffle flavor itself was really well done; not overwhelming but obviously there. Again, just a little more crisp and it would have been really special.

I can't believe this was my first time trying pigfish. I had the Philly cheesesteak on a GF bun. It was delicious. My main complaint is that it was a little spicy, and the fries were just ok. I ordered it to go so maybe it would be better if I sat and ate it fresh. Overall super delicious!

The Best Hamburger I've had...Ever!! I went to the Pigfish to try one of their hamburgers, and it was world-class delicious!! The burger was made just the way I like it, with a tasty toasted bun, slices of fresh tomato and lettuce, a wonderful aioli sauce, and big juicy fresh beef patty. All this plus a pile of thin, hand-cut fries and great service too. Perfection! You should try it! read more

This is a tiny little restaurant with a couple of tables inside. Staff are friendly and accommodating. The cheeseburger is amazing and so are their fries. You won't be disappointed. My husband had the Philly and he loved it. We are definitely going back. read more

After reading all of the rave reviews coupled with a recommendation, we tried this place ( a few months ago so this might not still be completely relevant ) I was in the mood for a burger so I got the PigFish burger and my wife got the fish tacos. My wife tells me that her fish tacos were awesome. Unfortunately, my burger kind of was a sucky dry hockey puck and NOT GREAT. The fries were greasy and not cooked all of the way through. +1 Back patio area +1 Serves (good) beer +1 Wifey's tacos -1 Dry boring burger that even carries the "PigFish" name. -1 Greasy uncooked fries -1 Fairly unprofessional staff (at least that day) I will give this place one more shot as I know several people that love it. Hopefully they have upped the game or we went on a bad day (all places have those). read more

After hearing friends in Burien rave about this place. We were disappointed. Very small seating areas. We ordered beer battered rockfish and fries. Fish serving was 2 large hot pieces over a large serving of fries, slaw & "homemade" tarter sauce. (Tarter tasted similar to Skipper's off the shelf). Beer batter was a generous portion. Fries were thin & greasy. We soaked up oil from fish pieces at our table with napkins. I recommend both fish and fries be drained well before serving. For the price we'll stay with Burien Fish House where parking is easily accessed. read more

Came to this place from my husband's search for highly rated places near-ish to the airport. This is a friendly family owned business with great service. The food was THE BEST (grilled) fish tacos we have ever had and also had the fish and chips that were so fresh, crunchy and perfect with hand cut fries and homemade aioli! Will travel there again from Duvall for their great food. read more

Wouldn't one expect a hot sandwich to be hot? No, it was cold like right out of the refrigerator. Serving size is small, fries are limp and the staff didn't seem to care when a compliant was shared about the cold sandwich. read more

The reviews are true! These are likely to be some of the best burgers you'll have in your life (and frankly, the best burgers we've ever had hands down). I prefer their burgers over the ones at bateau, el gaucho, uneeda burger, 8 oz., eden hill provisions, Loretta's, and all the other burger places in Seattle. If you try one thing, you have to get the pigfish burger medium rare. It is their signature burger. It has their house aioli, bacon, and a generous patty and bun with a side of fries and a pickle. They are focused on local, high quality ingredients and it shows. It is incredible! They also have great fish tacos and fish and chips, too. If you get the opportunity to try some of their specials, I recommend the salmon burger (divine - best fish-based burger I've ever had), and I also recommend their fish balls. Last, the couple that runs this place are some of the nicest people in the world. I don't understand why people aren't going here more often. They should have lines out the door! read more

Very nice casual restaurant. Every day they have different specials. The day I was there I had the Poblano Burger and it was amazing. I also upgraded my fries and got the garlic and Asiago fries. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. There are a few tables inside and a few more out in their back deck. Nice place to relax and have some great food. read more

Only had the Fish and Chips! Super fresh and super amazing! Beer Battered crispiness with fresh shoestring fries! Wow! And the coleslaw had a unique kick of horseradish! If everything else excels like their fish and chips...I'll never eat at home again! Seriously! UPDATE: Tried the BLT and also very good. I recently moved to the area and have been trying local favorites. I stopped by with my mom who was visiting and got two orders of fish and chips for carryout. Super friendly and nice staff, I really like that they cook and prepare the food fresh, right there in front of you. I saw the cook take out fresh pieces of fish, batter/coat them and everything, so you know it's fresh. I only live 8 minutes away so the food did not sit a long time. Food : Fries - absolutely amazing, I'd go back just for an order of those! Coleslaw - The most tart and bitter coleslaw I've ever tasted, I couldn't finish more than 3 bites. Fish - The pieces are HUGE, I mean like 10 inches x 3 inches. I personally like smaller thinner pieces but maybe you can request that? My biggest complaint with our meal was the fish and batter. The batter is extremely thick, and the inner most batter layer that touches the fish was so extremely soggy, soft, slimy, and just ruined the entire meal. I also have no idea what kind of fish it was, but I didn't like the taste, consistency, or texture. I will definitely return to try other entrees and options, but their fish is just not for me. read more

My bf and I get a to-go order from here once every few months and we always get the same things and they're always SO GOOD. We order the caramelized onions & swiss burger and the cajun chicken sandwich. They're both cooked and seasoned very well and come with fries, a pickle and chipotle mayo sauce. Cute place, good food, attentive service. Landed at Sea-Tac and was wanting something different than airport food. This place is a relatively short drive and was well worth it. Street parking was available, if not there's a small lot in the rear. Food was on point and worth the money. Give it a shot, I'm sure you won't be disappointed, I know I wasn't! read more

I love to find small places with great food, locally owned. Pigfish Cafe is such a find. And yet,this place feels like a secret! Patrons should be lined at the door! We must have been too early for the rush- as we quickly found a table. Their handcut fries are perfect with or without ketsup. They're served with garlic truffle sauce... which was not my thing. Otherwise, I could eatfish tacos here every day. Seriously. If you're in Burien... stop on by. read more

We happened upon this sweet cafe while driving through Old Burien. Today's special was a spicy fish sandwich, and they're right, it was special! Cooked to perfection with a savory aioli and pickles I would sell my firstborn child for. The tartar--an essential--was exceptional and the hand cut fries were as fresh as they come. Definitely one of my favorite places to get a really good burger here in burien. Highly suggest pick it up and go not a place to really eat at. It is really good here and support your locals at that. Been here a bunch of times. The staff are very cool with and welcoming. read more

This place is a godsend!! I've been trying to find a good fish and chips place... and have been to quite a few spots who boast the best fish n chips... this place is hands down one of the best. From Seattle down to Tacoma, this is in my top 3 for fish n chips!!! Great portions, great batter, and kind workers! I'll definitely be coming back for my fish n chips needs. Oooh! And the coleslaw! He was gracious and took it anyway. Out come our plates. I tasted my husbands fish and found it seriously lacking in flavor; nothing great here. And for most importantly, for simply not grabbing a decently priced hot dog at the farmers market. I'm positive this would have been better and a better deal. We will not be back to this place. The only reason I gave this a one star was for the waitress and the peach tea. Seriously.

They should get on that immediately before someone complains. If they clean up the area where the customers encounter, it would add a lot to the appeal and safety of their paying customers. Maybe just make this place like Dick's Drive In where you can only order to go? Don't think I'll return here again when in the area.
