Tried this place for the first time tonight. It was great! We ordered: -The sampler with brisket, turkey, goetta and pulled pork. -The turkey avocado sandwich -Tuesday tacos -Vegetable pasta -Cheesy grits -Baked beans -Sweet potato cauliflower mash All the meat options were really good. Other standouts were the turkey avocado sandwich, the cheesy grits and the baked beans. If you like macaroni salad, you'll like the vegetable pasta. We found Pig Candy on Yelp and stopped in today for some BBQ, easy parking, the building is awesomely redone and loved the back patio with heaters! We tried the turkey sandwiches with the white sauce and a side of Gold sauce, the white slaw, sweet potato mash, veggie pasta salad, and for desert the banana pudding. Everything was amazing! Our 2 year old loved every bite too. Everyone was very sweet and really cared if we enjoyed our meal. Oh and local beers as well. Will definitely be trying more items, can't wait to visit again! read more

Stumbked upon this restaurant when the food truck I was looking for was not in its usual place. My whole family got the pulled pork which was incredibly moist. Pig Candy serves it with sauces we have not seen in the past, but they were very good. The only thing we got that I did not love was the sweet potatoes with cauliflower. Left a weird aftertaste. It was likely one of the best turkey sandwich's I have ever had and the beans were amazing. I got the beans as an afterthought and am glad I did because they where outstanding. Great food, staff and outdoors patio. We have been several times in here and never disappointed. Food is great and portions more than I can eat (although I always manage to finish it). Love the way they have done the interior but the outdoors area wins. I love the fact that there's always parking even when they are busy. Third time here. Awesome food. Had the spare ribs today for the first time. I was hesitant throwing down $16 for a half rack, but wow they didn't disappoint. I was full after eating half the order. Really solid "northern" bbq, although they have a lean toward Carolina styles, I believe. Pulled pork had a bit of tasty fat in there. They recommended mixing both the white sauce and the mustard sauce on that and it was an excellent recommendation. Both sauces were great but that white sauce...OMG! The pickled veggies I ordered on the side helped with the richness of the meat. The sides were quite good- which is NOT the norm for bbq places. Also tried the salmon salad (hot smoked salmon) ant was also good- I would toast the bun, but that's a minor quibble. Excellent meal and a good addition to the Cinci bbq market. read more

Super cute place! Fantastic food too! We had the pulled pork and brisket sampler. The meat was tasty and tender. Loved the cole slaw and beans too! Sat on the covered back patio, which was wonderful also. The smoked meat required no extra sauce because it was so delicious already, but the sauces were all unique and delicious! One of the super friendly staff members explained the different sides and sauces thoroughly upon our arrival and was more than helpful! I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! If I had to make one suggestion for improvement, I would say that I would prefer to have a fountain soda that I could refill, rather than a canned one. I was very thirsty when I arrived and I slurped my drink down too quickly, so a refill would have been a welcome option. All the staff were very attentive too! read more

My second trip to Pig Candy and I have nothing but raves! This time I brought a group of 10 family members for dinner and it was unanimous, this place is great! The barbecued meat is outstanding. They have pork, beef and turkey. Cheddar grits to die for. My husband brought home the Posole and said it was awesome. It is a small, very casual place but they bend over backward to make it a good experience. I have had the pulled pork sandwich, slaw, 2 kinds of sauces and cheddar grits both times. I can safely say I haven't had better, even in cities known for good barbecue. The bill for 10 adults was just $140.00 not counting drinks. Their drink menu isn't large, mostly canned specialty beers and sodas. Needless to say I heartily recommend Pig Candy even though it is not easy to get to from Deer Park. Definitely worth a try. read more

We had heard great reviews from friends and this place lived up to those reviews and more. The service was welcoming and friendly, providing nice recommendations at the ordering counter. The selection is a good balance of traditional BBQ and some innovative twists. We made our way to the comfortable and breezy outdoor covered deck and the food arrived promptly. We enjoyed the 3 meat sampler with brisket, pork, and turkey, all smoked with cherry wood. All were high quality and made with care. The sides were tasty as well and the white sauce was outstanding. We enjoyed the carrot cake waffle to top things off. All homemade and delicious! We will return for sure. read more

Staff and attentiveness was great. Sadly, the best things we ate weren't bbq. We got a Lenten shrimp taco dish that were excellent. The kids meal quesadillas were also excellent. The bbq, pulled pork, brisket and smoked chicken salad were meh. Nothing stood out with the pork but it was an acceptable portion. The brisket was really good but one and a half slices was a little disappointing. The chicken salad was ok, though the chicken pieces were huge. They needed 2 or 3 cuts to take a bite. The cowboy beans were glorified beans and weenies beans. The macaroni tasted like the bulk cafeteria Mac without a cheese topping crust. Sauces were decent and there were around 6 different ones. They charged extra per menu but staff came around asking if any additional sauces were needed during eating. The drink selection felt pretentious. It was canned soda, bottled water and random bottles of juices and alike. Don't remember the prices but I'm sure it was extremely overpriced. Our bill was $50+ for 2 adults and a toddler. This is my experience and I'm pretty sure I won't return. Sadly, City Barbecue offers a better culinary experience and variety. read more
