During our backpacking trip over 10 cities including Paris, we tried almost all of well known and famous chocolatiers and patisseries including Pierre Marcolini, Maison Dandoy, Neuhaus, Pierre Hermé, La Pátisserie des Rêves, Angelina and many more... Out of the hundreds of macaroons we tried, Pierre Ledent was number one in our list.
The price was in relatively cheaper side and the box it came with, was very well made and presented. Their macaroons were the thickest I have ever bitten into. Also, it was filled with its specific flavored jam inside the usual creamy center. So when you bite into one, you will see the cloud like pieces of cookie, the creamy middle, AND the awesome jam supporting whatever the macaroon's flavor is.
Back in California, I am sad that no other macaroon-specialty places here has anything even remotely close to Monsieur Pierre Ledent's masterpieces. read more
