By far the best coffee I was able to find in Europe! First off, a really cute little coffee shop to grab a pastry, chocolate and coffee at. There is a good amount of seating and you do not feel rushed as you order.

You have not lived until you have had a hot chocolate that leaves a lasting impression on your life. Right down the street from Musée des Instruments de Musique, this spot is a good bet for that kind of experience. Don't just limit yourself to the hot chocolate though. Their award winning chocolates should be tried on their own. I definitely recommend getting the hot chocolate + 5 chocolate piece combo. We tried a bunch of flavors (and bought home some more). They were all excellent. I believe the ones with olive flavor is the most coveted one (at least they were when we were there because of a recently won award), but honestly, just go to town. Like literally go to town and get these chocolates. The only regret my wife and I had was that we didn't buy more. They aren't cheap but not unreasonably priced either.

We ordered multiple pieces of chocolate and also tried the hot chocolate. The chocolate is high-quality but taste wise I feel that it is not worth the price we paid for. The hot chocolate was not sweet enough and I simply wasn't fully convinced of its taste. We didn't finish it

The Ganache aux olives Taggiasche here won Gold at the International Chocolate Awards for Best Flavoured Dark Chocolate Ganache. I knew I had to try it to see what an award winning chocolate tasted like. One piece was around 50 cents, which isn't bad although it was pretty small. The chocolate was very rich and the flavors really came through. I wasn't really a fan of the olive flavor, but I suppose that's personal preference. The intensity of the chocolate really hits, and then it becomes a smooth and almost creamy taste. It was really delicious although I still prefer Marcolini or Blondeel. The chocolate shop is also a tearoom/cafe where you can sit down and enjoy a drink with your chocolate. I'm glad I was able to try this award winning chocolate!

Serving as a send-off to Belgium, plane set to leave just twelve hours later, Laurent Gerbaud was selected largely based on location and a reputation for excellence previously seen by way of Chocolate Speculoos at Maison Dandoy, an 18h10 arrival finding the staff in the midst of cleaning up with the café already closed but Chocolate Shop and Counter still open. One of Belgium's new wave Chocolate Makers, his shop and Atelier at Rue Ravenstein a short walk from all the famous mass-market shops at Place de Grand Sablon, Laurent Gerbaud has become something of a celebrity in recent times due to his high standard of imported ingredients to pair with milk and dark cocoa made from some of the world's finest beans and although prices trend slightly higher than the usual the texture is beyond compare, even the 76% cocoa tablet intensely creamy. Further upping the ante by way of pastries from Brian Joyeux, a late arrival finding the selection largely diminished but still with a Brioche and small Kugelhopf that was every bit as good as the medium one a day prior *despite having sat on the counter all day,* suffice it to say that the Brownie made from Gerbaud's own cocoa is one of the best money can buy, the fact that Joyeux's Fondant Cake filled with Caramel was so good further explained by the fact that it too was made from Gerbaud's Dark Chocolate.

Great coffee and chocolates! The street view is nice. The staff was wonderful and spoke great English! Fast efficient service. Clean bathrooms are available!!! Definitely worth stopping by and having a coffee with chocolate and a bathroom break since as we all learn about Europe is bathrooms are few and Inbetween and even fewer when FREE. Great little place. Not too far of a walk to great restaurants and wonderful buildings/cathedrals.

My most favorite place in Brussels. It's trully unique, healthy chocolate without preservatives & sugar and many vegan options for dairy intolerant people like me. Every time I come, I see happy people, try divine chocolate and relax. Do try the hot chocolate (best in town!). Laurent Gerbaud is internationally recognized chocolatier.

I finally had the chance to redeem myself by attending the Brussels Tour where one of the stops was here. I spent a good chunk of my budget on chocolates for dad and made sure to not let history repeat itself. I purchased 5 macarons: 3 Salted Caramel, 1 framboise, and 1 pistachio. My all time favorite flavors brought me right back to that moment when I took my first bite on the streets of Paris. It was seriously like that scene out of Ratatouille where it brought him back to his childhood. It was the same for me! Best flavors of your life: pistachio and Salted Caramel. Thumbs up if you agree and tried!

The prices are very fair for the quality. I ended up paying €250 for three Grand Crus assortment boxes and a stack of Kendem Lembu and Los Rios bars. The Kendem Lembu - Java bars are amazingly good if you enjoy 70+ cocoa count. Their chocolates have great complexity and richness. In fact the only chocolatiers that I would rate higher are Sprungli in Zurich and Le Maison du Chocolat and Michel Cluizel in Paris.

In the Grand Place these chocolate shoppes were lined up almost next to each other. Neuhaus was the first and ultimately the finalist. I appreciated the welcome as I came in, an overview of the history as I drooled over the well stocked cases. Of course there were too many flavors and types to pick from. Overall my taste buds did its job and the flavor combos, the snap of the chocolate and taste won me over to Neuhaus. I ended up customizing the boxes according to the choices dictated by family back home which covered pralines with caramel, yuzu, coffee, speculoos, etc. In the end buying direct avoided tariffs and what I saved went to more pralines but the tradeoff was a fuller luggage. Neuhaus had a frequent buyer program that I signed up for. Not sure how much I'll make use of it.

Visually it's amazing with all the chocolate and options you have to chose from. Yes it's not inexpensive but quality chocolate is well worth it. If in Brussels this is a must stop to shop!
