Elizabeth was our favorite little chocolate shop in Brussels. So much so that we came back just to get more! Despite the rap of being expensive, for hand made artisanal chocolate, *I* don't think the shop of pricey at all - quite on par with any speciality chocolate shops you'd find here in Seattle... and the quality is top notch. Expect to spend about a € per piece at the counter, or about €20 for a larger assorted box, with various price points in between throughout her shop. You want cheap? Go to Ghirardelli. You can have all the cheap, mass manufactured chocolate to your heart's content and they're just around the corner from here. Please.
My favorite was the rum infused dark chocolate with a raisin on top. Dare I say I got a wee buzz from them. I also quite liked the lavender. The dark is just *kiss* perfect! So smooth, so silky, perfect amount of subtle sweetness. You can tell these treats are high quality, not some mass manufactured, overly processed, wax infused crap. No. This chocolate is special. We bought chocolates from a number of different stores, both in Brussels and Bruges. Elisabeth's was the best, in my opinion. read more
