I went to Piercing Experience for a basic cartilage piercing which was done by Christina. All of this went fine and she was very forthright in the care process. My follow-up appointment, however, was quite a different experience. The appointment was at 12 and Christina was late. When she did arrive, she gave off a very irritated air like I was bothering her for being there. While I expected the follow-up appointment to detail the next steps of the care process (when I could change jewelry, how to do so, what material of jewelry to use, continued cleaning, etc.) she instead gave one look at my ear and said, "Have you been sleeping on it?? Well, it's crooked now!!" like I had apparently ruined her artwork, wasted my money, and mutilated my ear. I then asked, "So, what does that mean?" She replied with: "It means you have a crooked piercing!!" I then went to a piercing place to have additional cartilage piercings and asked the piercer if he could tell me if my existing piercing was crooked. I took a trip to Piercing Experience one Saturday afternoon after deciding that it was finally time to get some earrings back in my ears. I hadn't worn any for years after I lost my pair one fateful day, and just didn't bother to get another pair. I was thinking if I was going to get them re-pierced, might as well go to a place that has great reviews, right? That's the beauty of logic. I arrive, and I was a bit surprised by the atmosphere. It was very chill and calming. I was promptly greeted and explained that I wanted to get my ears re-pierced. I was surprised to find out that I might not have to get them re-pierced, and that they are probably still open, and that the holes have just shrunken. Woots! Well let's give this a go. I bought a threadless post earring backing from here and long story short I was sent the incorrect size and made an error on my part with gauge size. Almost 2 weeks ago I went to Piercing Experience to find some more information about navel piercing. It turned out that I decided to get my navel piercing done and I am so pleased with results. First, I was scared because I was over thinking and getting myself ready for a long time. Christina is really nice person and piercer. She answered all my questions, she didn't try to make me do it, she just said everything like it really was. It wasn't bad at all!!!! Pain was sharp but short. My piercing is still healing and I think I am doing good. I was surprised that after I got my piercing done nothing hurt. I could feel it just on my first day when I was stretching or bending over. I recently visited Piercing Experience to get a double helix done by their guest piercer, Morgan Strong. I always love to see Morgan when he is in Atlanta and was really pleased that Christina was so nice and welcoming because sometimes going into a new piercing studio can be intimidating. There was no pretentious air there. Piercing Experience's studio is very bright and airy and lovely. I felt like everyone was interested in my health and well-being throughout the entire process. Their selection of jewelry was very, very nice, extremely well cultivated and covered a wide spectrum of price ranges. I would recommend this studio to anyone. The piercer at Piercing Experience, Christina, was extremely rude. I went in asking them to move two earrings I already have to different spots because they were not healing properly due to me not being able to switch out the posts. COVID-19 closing everything prevented me from being able to have them switched to shorter posts. Their ONLY reason for this was because the jewelry wasn't their jewelry. I have 12 different piercings and have always gone to piercers who are APP certified, a piercer can absolutely use jewelry other than their own, I've asked multiple different APP certified piercers about this. Some don't like using jewelry that isn't gold, which is understandable, but my jewelry that I wanted to use was all gold. Fine, you don't want to use my jewelry, but being so rude about it was extremely unnecessary. Christina just has the absolute worst attitude, I've never ever experienced a piercer so cold. Never! Everyone I've been to in the past has been so friendly and enjoyable to be around. I asked for a refund since she wouldn't do the piercing and they refused saying because I booked a 45 minute appointment I was wasting her time by cancelling at the last minute. I get that, I don't like my time wasted either, but I wasn't even trying to cancel, they refused to provide the service. I had put a deposit down and even prepaid a 20% tip. The whole thing was absolutely absurd. Would definitely not recommend. read more

I'm from the neighborhood, so I remember when PE first opened (and it was a BIG deal back then). I believe it has only gotten better! My lobe ear piercings had grown up from not wearing earrings for so long so I decided to have them re-pierced. Online scheduling was easy and fast, followed up by email confirmation. The piercings are reasonably priced, and while the jewelry is on the expensive end... remember, you get what you pay for. Lou was great. I knew going to PE that I didn't have to worry about any crazy clamping, inexperienced piercers or non-sterile jewelry. Lou spent at least 10 minutes with me getting the placement "just right". He knew that would be the toughest part and was very patient while we marked and re-marked. He had a good eye and we were able to compensate for my slight asymmetry so that the earrings look balanced. The piercing itself was basically painless (yes, really. A steady, practiced hand makes a big difference). I love the jewelry selection. I like that they have a mix of funky body piercing looking jewelry and classy looking gemstone jewelry. I recently decided to get my septum pierced and had been looking for a reputable shop in Atlanta. Having been tattooed in many shops that pierce too, I had a decent grasp on what to expect. Piercing Experience was the shop that came up over and over in conversations and local reviews. Known for their exceptional cleanliness, knowledge and customer service, PE did not disappoint. I was pierced by Christina, who I think owns the shop. She was very nice, patient and relaxed. Her calm disposition helped me remain calm and comfortable. She washed her hands at least twice, possibly thrice, throughout the processes. Before setting up and taking me into the room, before she sanitized and inspected my nose, and before putting on gloves, a face mask and opening a new needle and the jewelry. She talked me through everything and minimized fear/anticipation by remaining calm. Piercing Experience is definitely more expensive than other shops in the area, but that extra $10 comes back to you in their knowledge and customer service. They invite you back for a check-up once you've healed, too. If you're on the fence, definitely go. I've never been to a friendlier, cleaner shop. This was my first piercing outside of my ear lobes and I wouldn't dream of getting my next anywhere else. read more

Also if you want to set up an appointment they make you submit a deposit that is the price of the piercing you get. Honestly if I went somewhere else I would've spent less than $70 for the same quality piercing with way better jewelry for free. This is the epitome of what a piercing place should be! Having newly moved to Atlanta from San Francisco, I was worried about what to do when I caught my dermal anchor on something and it refused to heal back up again. I called and spoke with Christina who was so amazingly professional and knowledgeable. Ultimately, we decided the best thing to do would be to take it out. I was able to be seen right away. I was worried about the process of removing these deeply set attachments but to my surprise she was amazing again! She talked me through the whole process of what she was doing, all while in gloves and mask with instruments that were in sealed a packages. Everything was very clean and I barely felt whatever magic she did to remove this dermal for me. Everything about the environment here was perfect. I've had bad experiences with piercings in the past (really crooked piercings in ears and tongue- years apart at different locations), so I've been without any piercings for more than ten years. I wanted to wear earrings for my upcoming wedding, so I decided to get my ears repierced. My experience here was completely positive. The piercer (who is also the owner) is very knowledgeable and professional, but also laid back and genuine. She gave me lots of information about care and hygiene. I have a really sensitive body, but everything has healed nicely and I had no problems. I just had my followup appointment to make sure everything is healing properly (I love that they check up!). I went there because i had my clit pierced and i wanted to change the earring out she was nice enough to take a look at it and then I wanted her to remove some earrings from my ear cartilage she told me that it would be fifteen dollars plus i gave her a tip and i was okay paying it... but she did not get the job done was not able to remove my earring she took my money and when i ask her for at least something back for my troubles she said no and i should basically leave!! Where is the customer service! she became very rude and btw make sure that when u go there have alot of funds because its very expensive and overpriced at this place! I just recently went to Piercing Experience to get my tragus pierced. I was honestly terrified because like so many people, I have heard a lot of horror stories regarding this piercing. I went on Friday July 15, 2011 and I saw another person come out of the room Christina (the piercer) was in, she had just gotten her nose pierced and she was very excited! So this kind of eased my nerves, however I was still extremely anxious. After the other person was finished Christina talked to me and told me that the tragus piercing is really nothing to worry about. Her very friendly assistant took my ID and payment and we went back to the room. At this point my heart was about to fall out on to the floor, however I remained calm and told myself it will be over soon enough. I laid down and she went through the same sanitation techniques that the doctor's office I work at does before they touch patients - this impressed me (as my bellybutton piercer, a tattoo artist in Florida, wasn't this clean). She then put iodine all over my ear and poked it in three spots with a blunt end of something and the one I found least sensitive she pierced. I told her to warn me and she did, and I felt literally, the slightest pinch then heard a crunch, then slight pinch again and Christina said "you're done." I was in shock and said, "is THAT it??" and she said "yes" and she continued to put the jewelry in. I seriously will never be worried about the pain of a piercing as long as Christina is the one performing it. I would recommend her and Piercing Experience to anyone. The price is more than what you would pay at a tattoo parlor, however YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. You want excellent service, safety, sanitary and a piercing done by someone who knows what they're doing, come here :) read more
