They were extremely diligent in their adherence to sterilization protocols and examination of my initial piercings. Because of Randy's careful examination of my ears, only one ear needed a full re-pierce and the other ear just needed a slight stretch in the piercing. It was much less painful this time around than it was 20 years ago (w/a piercing gun at Claire's!). I had such a great experience here I would definitely return and get additional piercings! My ears healed well (different experience than the first time) and I'm excited to wear earring again!

Even if you follow their rules to a T- make an appointment, show up on time, sit on their little bench outside, text them that you've arrived, wait for permission to come inside the completely empty shop, fill out a form with 45 insane checkboxes basically trying to encourage you to cancel the appointment- they'll still treat you like dirt. Like your mere presence is a major inconvenience to them. At their own business... I don't care if they're good at what they do. Go somewhere else.

Yes, their pieces are a bit on the pricey side, but the quality and variety are absolutely worth it -- 10/10 every time. The receptionist is one of my favorite parts of the experience. She has amazing energy, always gives thoughtful suggestions, and shares her personal experiences in a way that makes you feel heard and cared for. The bald guy that works there is also really cool -- calm, professional, and always pleasant on the phone. What I love most about Kolo is that they truly know their craft. They take anatomy seriously and won't pierce you unless it's the right placement for your body. That type of honesty and expertise is rare. Anywho I originally frequented the Columbia, SC location but have since moved to Atlanta and figured the same professionalism and quality would be here as well and I was right. Don't remember his name I'm horrible with names but never forget a face. Older black man with locs deep warm voice like a dad lol. But he was great. I got a double nose piercing; two on my right nostril and he made the process fast and held conversation to take my mind off him basically stabbing me in the nose twice lol. I love the placement of them being side to side and he used this measuring tool to check his spacing. I was in and out of there in under 20 mins with paperwork, getting my license copied, paying, picking jewelry, piercing, and the aftercare talk. Clean studio, smells of incense not smoke like a previous review I saw stated. I came in on a Tuesday they do half off select piercings. Picked out two little studs 2 for $40 but if you want the basic traditional studs it's 2 for $20. All in all I'm highly satisfied with how I was serviced and I'll be back when I heal up to possibly change to a hoop. Or get a new piercing. Parking isn't the best. It's just a driveway bc this used to be a house. I can't speak highly enough of Nurse Alexis and Nurse Q who were so diligent and so patient with our niece. They were very encouraging and thorough with their explanations and gave our niece very clear instructions on the aftercare of her piercing. I immediately thought of coming back for a flash deal if we were ever in town again! Very clean, very sterile, and very friendly -- so why one less star?? Unfortunately both our fine line tattoos have faded by the end of the week. The pressure didn't feel deep enough for either of us and the line work is VERY light. We already want them touched up but since we're not from the area, we'd have to find another artist. BUT that shouldn't take away fully from the good experience!
