We took our niece to Rowan to get her ears pierced for the first time and I'm so glad we did. We originally went because they offer piercing with the needle but we decided to have her ears pierced with the device because of the style earring our niece wanted. I can't speak highly enough of Nurse Alexis and Nurse Q who were so diligent and so patient with our niece. They were very encouraging and thorough with their explanations and gave our niece very clear instructions on the aftercare of her piercing. The environment is very sterile and the nurses took the necessary precautions before piercing her ears which we really appreciated. They even accept walk ins! Went there on Saturday and even though it seemed really busy when I got there I was able to get a service. You can walk in but they still ask you to book an appointment even if you are there. Somehow they were able to get me before my scheduled time. They were also really nice and answered all my questions. I wanted to make sure the piercing devices they used were clean. Which they are. They were very sanitary when it came to the process. One pair of gloves to mark the spot where the piercing would go, and another for the actual piercing. They explained any possible side effects and aftercare. The only thing is that you should expect to pay a lot because it's expensive. A device piercing and the earrings themselves are cheaper than a needle. They charge for the piercing and for the earrings. If you do a device piercing, they charge the earrings in pairs, but the earrings are charged individually for the needle piercing. read more

Great experience for ear piercing! My teen wanted her second holes in her ears and we happened to be walking by here while enjoying the belt line. It was simple to go in as they take walk-ins. The staff was helpful and explaining the different earrings based on the way you want to have your ears pierced- with a needle or with a gun. They only use studs for the piecing (while I preferred a hoop), but after looking at the options, we went with the gun because they said that the healing process would be a bit quicker. The price was a bit higher than most places, but it was expected as this is an ear piecing store. Overall it was a great experience for my teen. read more

One thing I like to do when I travel is get a new ear piercing. I was in Atlanta for the weekend and I happened to walk past a Rowan location, so it was fate! I stopped in around 4 to get a helix piercing. The lady at the counter said they were a little busy at the moment with walk-ins but I could schedule an appt online for later that day. I was quickly able to schedule an appt for 5:30 that day. We came back around 5:30 and the lady at the counter said they've been busy all day so it may be a little bit, but she was very kind about it. We walked around the shop and looked around while we were waiting. The lady asked what piercing I wanted and I told her a helix. She said I could get it pierced either with a needle or a gun. I didn't have a preference and she said the gun would be quicker because they only have one room for needle piercings. I said that was fine. She showed me the earring options for gun piercings. The earrings I selected were out of stock so I went with a second option. After I selected my earrings, I was told I was next up to get pierced. Right after I was told I was next, a mom and her two kids walked in. After talking to the lady at the counter, The daughter sat in the piercing seat. The lady at the counter came back over to me to apologize and say that the family was here yesterday to get pierced and the little girls earring fell out so she needed to get repierced. I was assured I was next after that. So fast forward to my turn and I'm sitting in the seat talking to the nurse and when I told her what piercing I wanted, she highly recommended I do the needle as opposed to the gun (this was different from what I was told earlier). She said someone is finishing up in the needle room and then I could get pierced. So I said okay. Now I had to choose a different earring since I was doing a needle piercing. I unfortunately had to go with my third needle earring pick because the first two were out of stock. After a long while, I was finally able to get pierced. The nurse who pierced me was a gem. She walked me through the whole process and let me take pics/videos of the process. The piercing itself was quick and painless. I want to stress that my 3 star rating had no effect on the staff. The staff were amazing! They communicated and apologized numerous times for the whole process. They were great! My rating is because I think structurally, this location needs some work. The fact that it seems to be a bustling location with only minimal piercing rooms is interesting to me. Also the fact that alot of their product was out of stock was also not great. It's tough to pay for something that you like, but don't love (regarding my earring selection). Please Rowan, keep your wonderful staff, but do better with the logistics. read more

I stopped in for my second lobe piercings after walking past Rowan. I'd been thinking about getting second piercings for a bit but didn't know where. Cleanliness and quality of the piercing were my top priorities because I don't want to deal with anything getting infected. I liked that all their jewelry is hypoallergenic and nurses are the ones to do the piercings, so I decided I might as well get it done now. It was easy to do a walk-in. I just scanned a QR code to select my time slot and fill out the waiver. The woman who did my piercing was very nice and offered me guidance in selecting one of their two piercing methods (device or needle). She said either device or needle is fine for the second lobe piercing. Needle is more expensive and she said that it's more important for a cartilage piercing, so I just went with the device piercing. You pay for the piercing itself ($50 for two lobes) and then purchase a set of earrings for your piercing. For the second lobe, I could choose between a few of their stud earrings since those are sanitized. I selected the 3mm Bezel Set Crystal × 114k Yellow Gold Pair for $60 since it's simple and classic. This seems like a reasonable price for hypoallergenic jewelry. The piercing itself was very quick -- less than 10 minutes probably. Before piercing she disinfected the area, drew on dots for where the piercings would be, and had me provide feedback on the piercing placement. It's a quick little pinch and you're done. She advised me on aftercare and provided a little "goodie bag" with a branded pen and makeup pouch and aftercare instructions. You can purchase the saline wash for your piercing from them, or they tell you what to get at the store. They do a complimentary check-in after 21 days with their nurses to make sure everything is healing properly (I haven't done that yet since I just got it today, but I appreciate that it's offered!). I also saw two babies/toddlers get their piercings done with the nurse who did mine before I went. She was really sweet with the kids and made sure to try to ease them through the piercing process. Beyond the piercing experience, the store has a really cute variety of dainty earrings. I can't wait to wear huggie-style earrings for my second lobe piercing, and I'll have to come back or check their website to look for a pair. read more

I have two criticisms of the place: the cost/up-sell and the choice of studs. It claims to be for all-ages, but all the choices for studs to get your ears pierced are only for little girls. A wider selection of hypoallergenic jewelry would be great. Relatedly, the place is super pricy: that jewelry would cost half the price elsewhere. And at the check-out, you get a goodie bag for aftercare, which you think is included in the already hefty price you paid for piercing and jewelry, but no, it will be another $20 for a 3 oz bottle of water to spray on your ear... I would not recommend coming here if you have a child. I brought my 5 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced in stead of going to the mall because the idea of having a nurse do the piercing versus a mall employee was appealing. I don't know if the person who worked with us was new but she had no skills to calm down a child (my daughter was not erratic but needed a little encouragement/distractions). The person who helped us was very slow, didn't understand correct placement of the earring and was not able to do a smooth puncture when it was time to do the second ear. For the price that we paid there should have been a more skillful person assisting us. We've just taken her earrings out and one of the holes has a lump (something I was hoping to avoid by going to this business). Im hopeful that we can treat the bump without a bigger issue developing or her hole closing but I'm 100% sure it's due to how the hole was pierced. So all in all maybe come if you're older but don't bring kids. read more

My four year old "A" told us she was ready to re-pierce her ear (one fell out). After doing some research we found Rowan which was close by, had a diverse age range of clientele, and they are staffed by licensed nurses which for her age makes me more comfortable. The store is super clean and has a welcoming vibes. By the time she got in the chair though she started getting nervous. We did not want her to have a bad experience so we were ready to leave should she have changed her mind and the staff was understanding of that. One of the staff, Allie, asked her if could put on her favorite song in the store and she helped A shake off a some of her nerves. The piercing was a success with minimal tears. It's been about two weeks now and it's healing so nicely. They gave us aftercare instructions and a spray. They also have a complimentary aftercare appointment if you decide your piercing needs a checkup. Overall wonderful experience and lovely staff. definitely would recommend to any one who wants to get a regular ear piercing. They do other types of ear piercings there as well! read more

My experience at Rowan was pleasant. It was my first time there and my 3 year old was having her ears pierced. A nurse, I believe her name was Angie, made us feel comfortable. She was very personable and sweet with my daughter. My only suggestion is to have a really big arrow sign that says ROWAN pointing toward the building. I got lost a lot lol. read more

I really liked our piercer she was so nice and cool! I wasn't prepared to spend $200 on two lobe piercings but the jewelry was cute and good quality so I thought it would be worth it. A couple of weeks later I'm taking a bag off my shoulder and it gets caught on my earring and the new piercing gets completely ripped out of my ear as a whole. I'm not sure what size needle they're using to pierce ears or why my earring was able to completely go through my ear, but it put a bad taste in my mouth about Rowan. My friend who I also got piercings had a similar experience where the back of her earring got stuck inside her and got super irritated and the skin grew over the back of her ear. We followed all the cleaning processes so I'm not sure why the backs of both our earrings were able to go through the piercing site. read more

This place is amazing. I had bad piercing experiences growing up and was definitely nervous getting pierced again. However, my nurse really took the time to make me feel comfortable, walked through all the care instructions and let me know they were available for any issues I may encounter.
