Better than I expected it to be. We went during lunch time on a weekday so it was pretty much empty. Great service from our waiter. We got the whiting, tilapia, and calamari. Calamari was a little chewy but the cajun fries were fried perfectly.

This was C1 from the menu.

I was visiting from NY and decided to give Pier 88 a try. I'm very glad that I did. I enjoyed my meal and there was more than enough food, that I wasn't able to finish it all. I will be back the next time I'm in town.

Just sat down. It is very accessible. Not too loud. Both a bonus. And menu has fried seafood not just the boil in the bag. I consider that a bonus as well. Okay finished eating. Tried to get a couple of pictures. The food was good. I'd definitely come again. Server was good. Came over several times to make certain we we doing good. The garlic butter sauce was excellent. The lobster tail was tender. Not always easy. The clams were great. Enjoyed the corn and pot that came with the meal. Overall I'd say this place was good. I expected to dispose so that is a pleasant surprise. Service was not rushed. We will go New

This place was pretty delicious and speedy! Server was super nice. 4 stars because they didn't have a full crab cracker set and it made it hard to eat my crab legs. I tried to use my fork but it was plastic and they had no metal silverware.

I'm not a huge fan of seafood boils, because I've never had a GREAT one. This restaurant was ok...... I wasn't impressed at all. We went for a birthday dinner, and I ordered the boil with shrimp, mussels, and sausage. I got the garlic sauce which was super salty. I had to drink so much water. One person we were with got a fried fish basket, and had to send it back because it was undercooked. The adult beverages were very good and the service was good. Our waitress handled our large party very well. I will say, the prices here are a little cheaper than most places I've been to (for the boils).

Awesome service. Our waitress was super sweet and helpful. Sierra made a few great recommendations. We went with the Signature Combo (C3) which had Snow crab legs, Shrimps, Black mussels, Corn, and Potato. We went with their signature sauce "88 Special" best I haver had! We also had a few appetizers which were all good. Really liked the fried Oysters. The decor is awesome !

The Korean Fried chicken was glazed beautifully, and was very sweet and savory. It had an amazing crust, and the 6 pieces was well priced. The Seafood Platter was all done Tempura style, breaded and fried. Each piece was so juicy, especially the scallops. Due to COVID, the place had tables and chairs for inside dining, but they were stacked to the side and they only offered pickup orders. We ordered the fish and shrimp platter, which came with fries or coleslaw. We got the fries. We were a few minutes short of the lunch special, where you could get the the same thing, for 3 dollars cheaper (we paid 9 and some change), but with smaller portions. The kitchen is located near the front register and you can watch while your food is being prepared. The menu is, of course, heavy with seafood options in addition to steamed crabs and crabmeat for sale. The fish was thin and fried perfect and crispy. The shrimp as well. Fries were golden and good as well. All in all, a good place to grab a quick bite of seafood when in the area.

I am kind and generous in my critique and try to maintain a professional decorum. With that said, I ordered four pieces of Whiting, sweet potato fries, green beans, and three chicken thighs. All of it was garbage!!! I expected four normal-sized pieces of fish, but instead, I received cut-bite-sized fish. The grease that was used to fry this fish was not fresh. My chicken thighs looked and tasted like they had been cooked some days ago. I received approximately 11 fries, and the green beans came straight out of the can with no seasoning. I understand that we live in trying times, but this is ridiculous. Usually, I would give restaurants the benefit of the doubt, but I can honestly say this is a one-and-done for me.

Not the best area but the food is INCREDIBLE. From the Nashville sliders to the shrimp Po boy and the fish. It was all so good. The service was fast even though they were super busy. It also looks like they get a lot of to go orders. I started off with the fish and shrimp platter. I'm not sure what that's called but the fish was fresh, fried to perfection. Shrimp was also really good, pairs well with tar tar sauce. The shrimp Po boy was my favorite. The sauce on it was SO GOOD, the bread was incredibly fresh. 20/10 for the Po boy. The manage habanero shrimp was super spicy but so good. The fried oysters was a unique menu item. Good as well. The sliders, we customized and got one hot honey and one Nashville hot. Both delicious. Also come with fries and I love a good fry. The wacky whiting sandwich was a fun and delicious item as well. Perfect for fish lovers that are looking for something more. The loaded Mac and cheese was so good as well. Lastly we had the funnel fries and it was a unique touch and was so good! The decor is cute but I don't love that it's attached to the gas station. Overall, the food was extremely good and definitely recommend if you are in the area.

The gentleman at the register was very nice, but unfortunately, the interactions with some of the other staff left a completely different impression. I've noticed before that some of the staff seem to give us uncomfortable looks whenever we come in, but I've never experienced anything direct enough to say anything about it--until this visit. I ordered a sweet tea and paid for it along with our meals before we were seated. The woman who seated us also brought out our drinks, including my sweet tea. We were sitting for roughly 30-45 minutes before anyone came back to ask if we needed refills. By that point, the ice in my drink had completely melted. When the waitress asked what I had been drinking, I told her I had a sweet tea. She repeatedly asked me if I was sure, while looking at my cup, then made a facial expression and shook her head before walking to the front register to speak with the staff who had taken our order and brought us our drinks. I could see them looking in our direction and discussing my drink. At that point, I went to the register myself with my receipt because I wanted to make it clear that I had, in fact, paid for the drink. I wasn't trying to cause a scene--I simply didn't appreciate being made to feel as though I was lying about something I had already paid for. The gentleman at the register said "okay" several times and seemed to dismiss the situation, perhaps because he didn't want it to escalate. I walked away, but I was still left feeling embarrassed and singled out. I can't say for certain what anyone's intentions were, but as a Black customer, the interaction made me feel stereotyped and treated differently. The fact that I had to prove that I paid for a drink that was literally brought to my table by their own staff was especially uncomfortable. There was another moment that added to the overall feeling. My dad thanked the sushi chef, and the chef didn't acknowledge him at all. Again, by itself, that might seem small, but combined with the other interactions and the way we've felt treated during previous visits, it contributed to the overall impression. The food honestly isn't bad, and that's why we've continued coming back. But good food doesn't make up for customers feeling unwelcome or watched because of the color of their skin. I'm sharing this because I hope management takes these experiences seriously and trains staff to treat every customer with the same level of respect. And if you're a person of color who has experienced something similar here, please know that you're not necessarily "tripping" or imagining how you're being treated. Sometimes it's not one obvious incident--it's the accumulation of small interactions that leaves you feeling like you're not welcome. Unfortunately, after this experience, I don't feel comfortable spending my money somewhere that makes my family feel this wa

The ambiance was great too, so we were off to a good start. Then my entrée came out with the chicken completely burnt and dry. I asked if they could just replace it with a salmon filet à la carte. It really shouldn't take 20+ minutes to fire a piece of salmon, especially when it's replacing an entrée that came out like this. What really disappointed me was that I was still charged for the dry a** chicken. I'm usually pretty understanding when something goes wrong with a meal--it happens--but how management handles it makes all the difference. At the very least, the entrée should have been taken off the bill. Great ambiance and the appetizers were solid, but management could have done a much better job making the situation right. I paid the money and the guy at the counter charged me for how many? Ten (10) fish pieces. After my short wait, my order was ready. The guy at the window showed me the fish looking golden brown and delicious. Hot piping hot. I said they looked good and ready for liftoff. Got to the car and my wife and I were happy at the time. After several hours and other stops we made it home. We live in Baltimore Md. A short 4 hour ride away. When my wife had unpacked the food and she asked me did I eat any fish? I said No? If I had she would have killed me before the plate got cold. She said that then they (Sugar's) did not give us piece number 10. The Boss was not happy and neither was I. Now I don't mind paying for delicious food and will do again. What I do mind is paying for fish that does not appear on my plate. I felt RIPPED OFF! If someone in the back of the house can't count to ten (10) and your employing someone who doesn't know how to count to 10, I am wondering what else is going on in the back of the house. Advise 1) Moving forward I will ask them to count them before accepting the finished product 2) Don't buy the Onion Rings. My wife does not care for them and she is an Onion ring person. We could've easily taken down another plate of these. They had a tomato hand pie special that we also really enjoyed, as well as the crab hush puppies. We liked our entrees (swordfish and the smash burger, which wasn't really a smash burger but was still a solid burger), but enjoyed the small plates much more. We ended with the white chocolate budino, which is a pretty generous portion and was SO tasty- it came with a ton of brownie chunks and cocoa nibs! Service was really friendly from everyone there.
