Come for the great views and staff, the food is fine too. Know two things- 1) This is NOT a seafood restaurant. It's a very causal beach restaurant that's good for burgers and they have a few seafood items. 2) It's priced a bit high, which is normal for something on the beach/on a pier. You're paying a bit for the convenience, the novelty and the views. We had burgers, alligator, peel and eat shrimp, calamari and Pina Coladas. Spent the longest day at the beach and came all the way from orlando specifically for this bar. Once we got into the venue and sat ourselves no one came to the table for 20 minutes. I spoke to two different severs asking if we were seated in their section. I have a service animal and the chairs were fairly high off the ground. She was seated in my lap and didn't make a sound. A server finally came to the table, she was clearly overwhelmed with the amount of dishes she had in her hand. She told us that she would be right back. 1 minute later 2 security officers told us that service animals need to be active at all times. I told them that she was active and in my lap for that purpose. They asked me what task she was trained to perform and I told them. They said okay and they proceeded to say that she couldn't be in my lap. Why would you ask what is she trained to do if you want to restrict my dog from performing her task? I told them that we were actually leaving since no one came to our table and they left as though everything was handled. Not even a moment after another security officer rushed up and said that we can't have a service animal. Overkill would be the word that would describe this place. I've never been offered chowder fries before, but I'm looking for them from now on. Chunky fries, melted gruyere cheese covered in a creamy seafood chowder. Like a Florida take on poutine. I wished I had also ordered a bowl of their chowder. We had the cubano, a burger, the jerk shrimp bowl and fried flounder sandwiches. Food came out extremely quick, had to have been 10-15 mins max, and everyone's food was cold. We were all puzzled on how that could be... Can't remember our waiters name but he was very kind and attentive. Some items we ordered were nachos, pulled pork sandwich, and shrimp po-boy. All cold as mentioned, and lacking flavor and presentation. The fries were the only thing that were good, they'd have been better if they weren't cold. This used to be our favorite restaurant and we couldn't wait to go back, Was disappointed to find that the menu changed and what we were looking forward to is no longer on the menu. We have always loved sitting and watching the ocean but it we were made to feel like we weren't wanted there because we had 4 kids with us. Service was absolutely terrible. My daughter, her 4 kids (ages 10, 6, 2 and 1) and myself were there this past week. The two little ones were in a double stroller and immediately the hostess says, you can't have that stroller in here, there is no room for it. Well, we didn't plan on taking the stroller to her table.... Then once we were seated, we waited more than 30 minutes for anyone to come to the table. We made the decision to just leave because the kids were really hungry and getting fussy. Just as I was getting up, a waitress came to our table, seemed rushed and wanted our drink and food orders right then. The restaurant did not seem busy at the time, as there were several open tables. We gave her our orders and waited another good half hour for our food. When the food came, they forgot the 10 year olds meal so we had to wait on that. We saw the waitress again after we were finished eating and I asked for the check. It took her another 10 minutes to get the check. I watched her clean off a couple tables around us and talk to the other waitress/waiters before she got out check. If anyone has ever taken 4 kids out to eat, you know that hanging out in a restaurant for 2 hours is not easy. My daughter and I have decided that we will never go back. read more

So I was walking past the line to go put my name in for a table and get stopped by a security guy who says, "Excuse me, can I help you?" And I say, "We are here to eat at the restaurant." I order the Gator Melt and my friend orders the Blackened Grouper sandwich. They bring the food out, like 3 minutes. The buns on the sandwiches are cold, like they just took them out of the fridge. My friend had his sandwich grilled and said it was good but not special and the amount of meat was just adequate. My sandwich, the gator was just very average. The amount of fries was just barely adequate as well. As far as this being an "upscale" restaurant as billed on their website? I'm not seeing it! Not even close unless I missed something. So to recap: great views (corner seat), super fast service (cold bun-- very disappointing), ok food, a bit on the small side in terms of the size of the serving, and not special at all in any way.
