The food is good. The bar tenders are friendly and the service is great. It is expensive for what you get.

Salt Restaurant-Cocoa Beach, FL- 2 Stars There, just up ahead, half buried in the sand. Do you see it? It looks like an old bottle, maybe thousands of years old. I wonder, if I rub it, will a djinni pop out? I am, after all, in Cocoa Beach. The same beach Capt. Tony Nelson, USAF Astronaut, was walking on when he found his Jeannie in the bottle. If I do rub this bottle and she materializes, maybe I can order her to help with the food in the Hilton restaurants, after eating in both, magic appears to be their only salvation. I should have known better after my horrid experience at Longboard's, but after growing up a bit south of here and watching, "I Dream of Jeannie," I couldn't give up. I had to go back and try the other restaurant located in the Cocoa Beach Hilton, Salt. They are run by the same restaurant group, though I was hoping that, Salt, presented as their "upscale" joint, would be better than their casual dining hell, aka Longboard's Tiki Beach Grill. As my server, Amy, approached to take my order, I recalled my said experience at Longboard's and thought I should start with something strong, yet simple to concoct from the bar, so I ordered a Bullitt Rye Manhatten. I am guessing on how my drink was mixed that they shared the bartender with Longboard's. Even if it was a bit heavy on the vermouth, at least this time I could tell what I was drinking (maybe someone slipped them a copy of the cocktail jockey's bible, "Mr. Boston Official Bartenders Guide"). Now that my head was taken care of and my soul soothed, I turned my attention to my palate. After perusing the menu at length, I decided on the New York Strip Steak with a Morel mushroom reduced demi-glace glaze. I felt sorry for my server, Amy. She was on point and obviously dedicated to the task at hand, but not even her excellent service could save this meal. The steak came with a side of mixed summer squash and zucchini along with an order of fingerling potatoes. The Steak was undoubtedly a low-grade choice cut, not prime as it had the consistency of soft leather and while the demi-glace glaze was serviceable, it wasn't extraordinary, or even ordinary and it tasted as no steak should ever taste...bland. The Patty Pan squash duo was executed so improperly that I am still not sure what dish the chef was trying to fabricate. Somehow, he had sauteed all the flavor out of one of my favorite summer side dishes. This brings us to the final item on my plate, the order of fingerling potatoes. Obviously microwaved and grossly undercooked, they had to be the most wretched potatoes I have ever had the displeasure of trying. I would say "eating," but they were so raw it was almost impossible to do so without running the risk of chipping a tooth. To top off this wonderful gastronomical experience of mine, the hostess sat a family with three extremely tired, cranky, loudly whining children behind me. If Jeannie was around, I sure could have used her to turn those kids into potted palms, or something as serenely peaceful. Then I would order her to the kitchen as they are in sore need of some arm crossing, head nodding, eye blinking magic (or maybe just a completely new staff)! Big Boy says, "Unless you have a djinni in your pocket, come for the view after dining elsewhere."

Every time we vacation in cocoa beach, often eat in SALT restaurant at the Hilton. Breakfast has a great assortment of fresh baked pastries, an excellent omelet bar, cut fruit and a yogurts. . Always fresh. Lunch At the tiki bar is fun and good. Peal and eat shrimp and sandwiches and wraps as well. Dinner entrees include variety of fresh seafood. With good sauces and always hot. One of the very best hotel resorts we have enjoy!

Not sure where the other reviewers ate. But it simply can't be the same place. We ate here as a convenience given all the negative reviews so we weren't expecting much. As a foodie, I treasure a delightful meal. And this was OFF the charts! My husband had the filet with pea purée and pancetta and it was perfection. I had the pork belly and I can't fathom how they made it so consistently crispy and juicy simultaneously. I've been trying to make pork belly this flawless for years and can't do it. And the fruit sauce with the pork belly cut the richness in perfect balance. Even the sides were executed impressively. The asparagus was cooked but crisp and had a wonderful smoky grill char. And our server gave us terrific attention. I honestly would whole heartedly recommend this place and hope this drop in the bucket review will convince some hotel guests to stay when they might otherwise have ventured out mistakenly. Don't miss this place!

Very good hotel restaurant. Great staff, they recognize you on subsequent days. Service is prompt and professional. Not what I'd consider a destination restaurant but solid and convenient.

We ate dinner and I thought it was overpriced and just average tasting. We were staying at the hotel and the location was convenient.

If staying at the Hilton it is very convenient but if you are not residing there don't go out of your way it wasn't anything special

Allie was honestly fantastic. She was super accommodating and attentive, but never in a way that felt like too much. She checked on us at all the right times and made us feel taken care of without hovering. She really knew the menu too, which I always appreciate. When we asked for suggestions, she gave thoughtful recommendations that ended up being exactly right for what we were in the mood for. What meant the most to me as a mom was how patient she was with our kids. She listened to every order (and all the little modifications that come with kids ), and the food came out exactly how we asked for it -- which tells me she was really paying attention. In today's world, it feels like genuinely good service is harder and harder to find, especially when you're traveling. So when you do get it, it stands out. Thank you, Allie, for taking such great care of our family and helping make our little getaway that much more enjoyable. You truly renewed my faith in the service industry.

I made a reservation for 6 at 1:30 pm on Mother's Day. When we arrived, we waited 10 -15 minutes in the host line before we were greeted. This, coupled with the fact there were lots of empty tables that had not been bussed, let me know that the restaurant was not equipped to handle the volume of customers and was in the weeds. When we told the host we were a party of 6 with a reservation, he seemed surprised and distraught - immediately leaving to bus one of the tables. A quality restaurant would have expected us and had our table prepared prior to our arrival. Multiple people in our party mentioned the host's frantic demeanor. I don't blame him - it was clear the restaurant was overwhelmed, despite so many empty tables. Was the kitchen backed up? We were sat at the table and the server was very pleasant - a very nice woman. She brought out the water - tap water which smelled and tasted a little funny. I would have expected filtered or bottled water, especially when the tap water quality was poor. At this point, given the above, we decided to leave. If the experience up to this point was not up to par, we didn't want to take our chances. We've seen too many Kitchen Nightmares episodes to take the risk. Chaos in the front of house is normally correlated to chaos in the back. Hopefully the restaurant takes our constructive criticisms to heart and tries to make some improvements. The buck starts with the management.

I didn't know that you had to pay each day for parking but due to this the employee had took care of it for me. The room was clean and very nice. The bed wasn't uncomfortable because typically at hotels you have some uncomfortable beds. I love how they had a gym and also the hotel sit right on the beach so you could easily access the beach. If you are looking for somewhere to stay with a nice beach view and the price is reasonable then look no further. You will not be disappointed at all. Room 719 was nice, although who puts the coffee and fridge behind the sliding bathroom door. Speakman shower head and lots of hot water make for a nice shower. The bad... since you can't control ignorant guests that let the heavy doors slam, the hotel needs to figure out how to stop it. They slammed all night long. The beach... Hilton has a huge parking lot this is open to the public for $25. The influx of people that would otherwise beach at the Motel 6, was never ending. Suitcase size radios with competing music was exhausting. Pool.. nice that it was heated in March and the splash pad is thoughtful. The actual pool area is small, chairs are tired. Beach bar .. nice view, lousy drinks. Overall a costly and enormously disappointing weekend.
