I don't like to spend money on myself. When I'm with a date I go someplace with a nice ambiance for us. IHOP doesn't place a lot of emphasis on ambiance. But they do on quality food and fast friendly service. I come here a lot by myself. Today is my usual 55+BLT, fries, and endless coffee. This is the best BLT I have had, ever, consistently. Their fries are excellent. You get good coffee and a small pot for refills. They have a reward system. I usually pay for my lunch and get free pancakes for breakfast. Well for an IHOP I never thought I would say that it was kind of cute. They had nice decor and style the location is great, right across from Ron Jon's surf shop. The service was great. Let's talk about the mold in this place! Not healthy at all to be breathing in all that black mold. It's everywhere on the ceilings in the restaurant. Food was terrible. There were not many restaurants in Cocoa beach to enjoy a good breakfast, so my family and I went to what we know I-hop. Erica seated us really quickly. She took the time to explain what the contents of the menu and the options to make our breakfast more enjoyable. The male and female cooks cooked our meals just as how we wanted it. The poblano omelette had plenty of flavor and the right amount of spice. The hearty grain pancake was loaded with nuts. My little one had the cake pancake. Erica put the cream on the side for her just in case it was way too sweet. Which I totally agree. Definitely will come back out here again for a quick breakfast bite. I Hop's ---a great restaurant. Always above and beyond. I try to get there as early as I can for breakfast because by 9am they usually seem to be on wait. I always have ERICA as my server. She is unbelievable her knowledge of the menu is wonderful and the food is always hot and delicious . Within 30 days I have been to this location 4 times. The first time was on Father's Day. Food quality, service, and ambiance was excellent. Second time, not so great. Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich to go and the chicken had a bland rubbery taste. Come to find out, the chicken breasts they use are the same frozen Tyson chicken breasts found in stores. The sandwich also had old and withered lettuce and tomato on it. Needless to say, the only good thing about that meal was the pancakes. Third time, I ordered a BBQ burger to go and requested no lettuce, tomato, and onion. When I got home with the meal, it had lettuce, tomato, and onion. I found this surprising because I was the only customer in the restaurant at the time I ordered, and this one order was all the cook had to make. Fourth time, I ordered a burger meal with pancakes to go. I was already waiting 45 minutes, and when the order was ready I watched the server bag it up. I noticed already that she forgot to put the pancakes in the bag. So when she handed the bag to me I asked her if the Pancakes were in there. She said yes. When I got into my car I looked into the bag to check if the Burger was made correctly this time, and it was. The pancakes were missing just as I thought. As I was about to get out of the car to go back inside the restaurant, I see the server coming to my car and handing me the pancakes and apologizing for the mistake. From what I have observed at this restaurant over the last 3 visits is that the employees need to ensure orders are made correctly and no items are missing from an order when given to the customer. A customer should not have to inspect their order before leaving the restaurant when ordering to go. The quality of the food is also important. Poor tasting food such as the chicken breasts should not be sold to customers, especially when other customers have also complained of it's poor taste. They are honestly the worst grilled chicken breast I have ever had from a restaurant. My advice to anyone going to this location is to inspect your order before leaving the restaurant, and try not to go on the weekend after 3pm. My last 3 visits were around that time. The restaurant seems to be short staffed as well, so I assume long wait times and order mistakes to occur during busier times. It's overall a good location when the people working there do their jobs right. Unfortunately, that is a hit or miss with many restaurants. Many retaurants have raised prices alot, but the quality of the food and service has gone down. These things need to be corrected. Also, I noticed the cooks do not wear sanitary gloves when preparing food. I watched one cook wipe the underside of her nose with her hand and then go right back to preparing food. These things raise health concerns to me. I think people handling food directly should wear sanitary gloves and change them periodically throughout their shift. read more

We came for breakfast around 10AM on Saturday. Place was completely packed but we were seated within 10-15 minutes. Our server Robin was super nice. I ordered the double blueberry pancakes with a side of bacon. It was exactly what I was expecting from an IHOP, solid food but nothing too crazy. We got our food pretty quick too regarding how packed it was. Place was clean and smelled normal, pretty much all I look for ambiance wise in a fast food sort of restaurant. Sunday morning breakfast on a whim at 10:30 in a tourist spot! - what were we thinking. Lines everywhere! Wait times 20-30 mins. After seeing the long wait times at 2 other places and even stopping at a third place to ask how long the wait was we debated stopping at Publix and just getting everything we would need to do our own big breakfast. The surfer kid working as a host at the third location told us 20-25 minutes but looking around at the tables and the gaggle of folks already waiting we said there is no way we will have a table in 20 mins. On our way to the grocery store we saw IHOP and thought what the heck let's see what they say. The hostess told us 15 minutes and looking around at the hustle and bustle of the places we thought she was right. I think the overall difference was the staff. They looked like veteran waitstaff rather than summer employees or first job. 12 minutes later we got a table. The food options are immense. Luckily we had 12 minutes waiting for the table to look at the menu. I changed my mind a dozen times and still had to order last. So much great stuff I didn't know what to do! The food was great and the kid menu was both fun and full of choices. Our waitress Flo was very attentive with a great personality and seemed like a veteran waitress right out of central casting. The unexpected part was the balloon animal lady they had coming table to table making balloon animals for the kids. My kids were amazed (me too) as she twisted out a bright colored unicorn and then a dead on accurate Pikachu for my son. The balloon lady was very talented and nicely answers all our balloon animal questions that she heard a million times I am sure. Last but certainly not least, how did I get this far and not mention the pancakes. My omelet came with a 3 stack of the fluffiest most delectable pancakes you will find. All tables come stocked with regular, blueberry, strawberry and butter pecan syrup. I had strawberry first (awesome) blueberry second (awesome) and in a historic act of clear pancake mismanagement went right back to strawberry. Upon completion I realized my inability to try the butter pecan due to my inept management of my 3 stack. Oh well, guess I'll have to go back tomorrow and give it a try!! read more

Was hungry for some IHOP today, it is my first visit to this location since I was doing some errands in the area. Went in and a table immediately, told the waitress my drink order and started looking at the menu. When she returned with the drinks, she asked if I was ready to order, told her I needed more time. As I was preparing my coffee and looking over the menu she returned, asking if I was ready to order. Once again I told her not yet. Approximately a few more minutes goes by and again she returns asking if for my order. (I felt like I was looking at cars on a used car lot...let me decide and close my menu to give you an indication that I was ready to order...know how to read your customers). So, I finally placed my order (Big Steak Omelette, minus the onions), after a few minutes...my food arrived. I ate the side of pancakes first. Then I started to eat the omelette when I noticed they where no green peppers in the omelette. I asked them for no onions, but they didn't put the peppers in, so it is just hash browns and cheese on the inside. The steak was placed on top, after a couple of bites I noticed the steak just didn't taste right. The steak wasn't cooked throughly and the quality of the meat was not good. I stopped eating and told the waitress. The one positive thing she did was to try to please the customer by offering to redo it or provide another dish. I told her no, that I wasn't feeling well, said she'll remove it from the bill. (I know better not to return food in a place like this...didn't want to get more sick, because some cook got his feelings hurt when I returned his mess) Then the Manager came over, asked some questions and apologized. Then waitress, brought the bill and I notice a bit of an attitude. When I paid the bill with cash, she didn't give my change from the register, but from her change purse (seemed kind of odd). Then she didn't have enough change, went to the back, returned a few minutes later with $4 and my receipt...but hold on...my change should've been $14.40. I had wait until she returned, since she dropped it on the counter and walked a away on the phone! When she returned I told her the discrepancy and then she told she didn't have a $10 bill, but she actually did and had to point it out to her. Unbelievable this place is a joke...should have read the reviews prior to walking in here!! read more
