Quaint funky little place. Totally unpretentious. Store front with bar like seating along the window overlooking Foster. We ordered two sandwiches and a latte. Serving sizes are adequate so no doggie page. Pricing is a bit high for what we got.

Nice neighbor cafe in FOPO neighborhood serving a limited breakfast and lunch menu consisting mostly of bagels, paninis, soup, and salad as well as pastries. Scattered variety of seating and a friendly helpful owner. You can tell this is an owner run cafe and that she put a lot of care into this shop. Bathroom located in hallway with key access. Scone is decadently buttery. Nice place to spend a morning.

Even though there were plenty of other customers on a Sunday, it is spacious and roomy and doesn't feel crowded

On a nice day like today, light pours in the big windows. The checkerboard floor and photos of Portland on the walls add up to a nice atmosphere (not to mention a gaggle of teenagers and a couple of cute dogs on leashes). It wouldn't all be working quite so well if it weren't for the legitimate roominess of the space. The drip coffee is good. My croissant...only ok. I wouldn't order it again. The prices seemed standard. The smiling person who took our order was very nice. Overall, it was a pleasure.

First off, very dog friendly. It seems that the coffee they use is Juniors. Roasted here in Portland. Short drive from my house, so I can maybe hangout here. Big breakfast selection looks good. Pannini's. Big inside, but empty. Not enough locals?? To make a bigger review, I would have to study every little thing behind the counter, taste every sip of the coffee's, etc.... So, I liked the place and thats what matters to me.

Baristas were so lovely! I ordered just a simple latte but it was delicious. Also the inside is so aesthetic and great art to buy on the walls. Will definitely come back when I pass back through Portland!

The paninis we had were good. The drip coffee was kind of acidic but still tasted great. The blueberry vegan slice of bread was delicious! The reason for the 4stars is the leftist signs all over the shop. I mean come on, I'm coming for food not for a political agenda. Would not come back due to that.

I love the feel of this Cafe!! The place is filled with light and the whole place gives out the light and breezy vibe as soon as you enter. They have witty decor peppered throughout the cafe. The prices are nominal. Ordered the spicy chai. The chai tasted really good. Would highly recommend this cafe to anyone in the neighborhood!

I try not to be sensitive to Racist stuff but this was a pretty decent microaggression but other say it was pretty blunt. I went in and ordered Americano and asked to use the bathroom I noticed that in a bathroom they had a chalkboard and I was really excited about this because it seemed that the chalkboard helped with less riding on walls in the bathroom. I went to the barista and asked her if The chalkboard help with less writing on the walls in the barista said aggressively. "IT DID BUT PROBABLY WON'T NOT SINCE WE ARE TALKING ABOUT IT" like I have some African spell. I brush this off sit down and had had my coffee and my best friend entered the coffee shop after a job interview and I Watch the barista say "OMG ANOTHER ONE OF THEM" at that moment my friend as my witness we exited the coffee shop because our blood started to boil.

Chicken fried steak with sausage gravy: 7/10 there a lot of chewy bits in steak and it was already a very thin cut. Also comes with scrambled eggs and potatoes. Potatoes were the best part since they were seasoned very well. Chicken and biscuit: 8/10 classic chicken and biscuit Shrimp and grits: 7/10 grits felt really heavy to eat and the shrimp was salty. The space itself is smaller and intimate, so bringing a larger group than about 4-5 people might not be ideal. The ambiance definitely gave Italy vibes, for sure. The chicken liver mousse was a good consistency, paired with the figs gave a nice balance between sweet and savory. The steak frites was a classic, steak was a good portion and cooked medium rare, but I'm sure if you wanted it more cooked through, you could make that request. The fries were definitely a standout, great texture and the garlic flavor gave a good contrast to the steak. My favorite dish was the dessert, the flaky crust gave a nice texture to the cream insides. I'm a huge passionfruit fan, so once I saw it was on the menu, I knew I had to try it. It didn't disappoint and I would definitely come back just for this dish alone. Overall a solid experience and would recommend people to try Canard out at least once!

We had the coffee (Extracto, love.), I had a really good hef and my mother a very well balanced Bellini that I was very pleasantly surprised with trying. From what I saw, the lunch sounds very good and I'd be more apt to recommend folks give that a shot if they happened to be going there too. I'm not sure if I'd recommend as a must go stop. Vibe wise, the ambience is overall really nice. I think having rolled flatware, even with just upgraded napkins, would better complete the aesthetic you initially see and feel. This would also connect with the price point of the food and quality of the beverages. As a fellow server, on that note I would expect more consistent stronger visual appearance standards with servers. (Sorry guys! But some of you looked great!) Overall, I'd definitely join a friend for coffee and lunch over there in the future. Just wouldn't be my top pick for a celebratory brunch or intimate dinner with a date or friends and fam.

The salmon benedict, although highly recommended by the waitress, was extremely fishy, even though the "hollandaise sauce" (which had no depth of flavor, and was just thick) covered the entirety of the egg, salmon, and english muffin. It came with cheesy hash browns which again had no depth of flavor. Cheese makes anything tasty but it was just too much. The service, while friendly, was not attentive.
