Pieology Pizzeria in Redlands was a bit of a mixed experience for me, mostly because the service felt painfully slow despite there being no one else in the restaurant at the time. Like a lot of places lately, it really seemed like online orders were taking priority over the people actually standing there, which can be frustrating when you are clearly visible and very hungry. That said, once the online orders had been filled and it was finally my turn, things improved quickly. The pizza and salad were excellent for quick service food, and the lunch special with a pizza, salad, and drink felt like a genuinely fair deal that hit the spot. What really stood out to me in a good way was how clean and well maintained everything was, from the dining area to the service line. Came by to grab some dinner last Saturday night. We each got a build your own pizza. When we arrived, there was nobody else there so we were able to quickly make our order. It didn't take too long which is pretty good and prices were all right. the guy who was serving us was nice and was chatting with some other workers as well. Pieology Pizzeria has all the pizza bases covered: thin crust, thick crust, gluten free crust and cauliflower crust. Plus the combination of toppings are endless. At the bottom of their website are their Lifestyle Pizzas: Glutten-Free, Vegan and Dairy-Free. We ordered personal sized pizzas: 11" across. We thought it was worth the extra $2 each pie to be able to have personal customization. But for $10 or $11 on their regular will still provide you with tons of variety. For the customization, you'll be making a selection of: dough, oil, sauce, cheese, toppings, meat and after bake. Obviously, the combinations are unlimited. But note that some choices will add calories and costs - again your choice. You can see from my pics that there were amble toppings and meat. The thin crust still held up and worked well folded in half, taco style. The flavor of each ingredient was mild and adequate. The flavor of our choices met our expectations. How time changes everything! Toppings have limits, pizza seems smaller. Garlic butter is good option to brush on the dough. I selected one topping special and added on bbq sauce. The thin crush was crispy and pizza was good since I customized it. The person who did behind the counter was friendly and nice. There is now calzone that you can choose up to 5 topping for $13. I would have rated this visit a little higher because the staff was very helpful and didn't give us a hard time even though we came in just before closing, but the quality of the pizza was a little underwhelming. As I mentioned, we did come in close to closing and the staff was welcoming and eager to help us out. I ordered a custom pizza. They didn't put as much toppings as I would have liked (though I did ask for a little extra) and they burnt the crust. Given that they did take my order despite already starting closing, I was grateful for their service, I just wish a little more care had been taken making the food. read more

This was my first time eating Pieology. Is that weird? I felt like a nice hot calzone and happened to see that Pieology has them, so I ordered one online. There were no pictures on Yelp of a calzone (for this location at least), so I didn't know how big it was going to be, but I was excited because you can choose up to five toppings and it was 12.99, a good value compared to another place I was comparing to as long as the size wasn't a rip off. Ordering was simple. Paid online. The wife went to pick it up for me. They asked her if she wanted it cut, she said no. She probably should have said yes because then she might have known that they gave her the wrong calzone. So whoever ordered the artichoke, spinach, mushroom one, it was good, but mine would have been better (pepperoni, olives, spinach, mushrooms). Pieology-- you need some way to mark the calzones so this doesn't happen. You guys can't see the toppings when it comes out of the oven like you can with a pizza. So how can you be sure which one is which? The answer is you can't. Clearly. So, a change is needed. But anyway, it was a good size, I would say the standard calzone size. The dough, the crust, is a standout. I typically don't eat crust. This crust was like a nice soft breadstick. Really good. I can only imagine my correct toppings would have been delicious, it seemed like they would be. But unfortunately, I'll have to wait until next time, if that happens. It's too bad, there was a lot of potential for this to be a new go-to of mine. read more

January 3, 2025 @ 240p. While we recognize there only seemed to be one employee working, we waited a good 5-10mins before even being acknowledged. The group in front of us decided to leave due to the wait and lack of acknowledgement. Once we were helped, the female employee was friendly but we were already slightly annoyed. We were asked if we wanted dressings but not advised of the added cost Up front. We will likely seek out another pizza establishment in the future as a result of the less than ideal experience. It's been now my third or fourth time that I returned to this particular location in Redlands, and once again, I had the most delicious pizza. A wonderful crispy thin crust with all my favorite toppings more than I could even put on a pizza before, and the crust stay crispy. My son, sister, and I came to this location and were immediately pleased. We walked in and were greeted by Alex and Benjamin. Alex provided a quick and friendly experience. An employee named Meggan was super nice and friendly, I didn't want any meats on my pizza and she offered to change her gloves in case I was vegetarian, which was very thoughtful of her. Choose your own adventure - the crust determines your fate. I appreciate the ability to get fast pizza takeout during the pandemic. I also love that Pieology has vegan cheese, vegan sausage and gluten free crust (which I did not try). But my mistake was choosing deep dish. The deep dish crust is pre-baked so when it goes back in the oven for a second time with toppings, it turned extremely dry. They also cautioned against putting more than 3 toppings or a lot of sauce specifically on that crust. So I followed that guidance, and the taste of the dry crust overpowered the small amount of sauce, cheese and toppings. I ended up cutting the crust in half at home and adding my own pizza sauce to finish my dinner. The person I went with has artisanal thin and their pizza looked delightful. So I'm grateful for all the Pieology options but the deep dish crust specifically didn't work. read more

I'm a BLAZE PIZZA person. I've given MOD and now PIEOLOGY a chance, and both aren't as good. For me the most noticeable difference was the pizza dough. It was serviceable instead of desirable. The same for the toppings. I felt they spent less money on the interior than a Blaze. The seating was hard wood, very uncomfortable. I want to say MOD is better than PIE but that BLAZE leaves both in the dust. read more

They were short on staff at first making it last long. They got the job done in a reasonable amount of time due to the circumstances. The pizzas were good not my personal favorite. The staff was very sweet she burnt mine on the side a little ( I didn't have a problem with it wasn't too burnt) but she insisted on making me another one no cost. Must order gluten free crust which is more expensive and you might not realize that unless you google it. They always have perks which is good for non vegans but to sugary or salad has cheese. One time mad my pizza in error with normal crust. Employee realized it after handing the pizza to me. She made me a new one but could havw just not said anything. So mistake not a major issue.
