Always spot on with the list of pies they keep expanding. My daughter and I ordered a regular sized pie to go and were told they did not make it. Upon getting it home we saw it was a Sara Lee Pie. Not so great. The other pie they make which, out of at least 10 we have tried and liked, the artichoke dip filled pie was our least favorite. The filling was good but I had to open the pie to actually find it. It needs to get at least 3x the amount of filling. All in all I will keep coming back. I usually buy a dozen to use for lunches or a quick dinner with a salad. The pies are very yummy. My favorite dessert is the mini berry open pie. So great!!!!!! read more

This is a great little spot in Strawberry that we visited around lunchtime after leaving our nearby cabin rental just to get out for a bit. We read about it ahead of time and decided to give it a try. The place is super cute and immaculately clean. No room inside to do anything but order, but there's ample seating outside if the weather is nice enough. The restrooms are right next door in a separate building mere steps away. Once we entered, we were greeted by the appetizing smell of baked goods and by a friendly woman behind the counter. I noticed that the coffee they serve is from the Roastery of Cave Creek, which we found interesting since that's not far at all from where we live. We were told that the owner of PIEbar used to own Big Earl's Greasy Eats in Cave Creek and currently owns PIEbar and Strawberry Realty nearby. While I can't attest for any of the available real estate, I can certainly testify that the food she sells is amazing. We ordered the soup of the day, which was artichoke and chicken florentine. I don't even like artichokes, but the soup was delicious and just what the doctor ordered with the brisk breeze outside. Also just what the doctor ordered was the mountain man (chorizo and cheese) and green chile pork empanadas. The crust was oh so flaky, and the filling in each was warm and delicious. I washed mine down with a canned nitro vanilla latte from the beverage case, and my wife and I shared a mixed berry baby pie for dessert. Again, wonderfully flaky crust and amazing mixed berry filling that almost made me go back in to try one of the sweet empanada offerings they had available. Or if you want an entire pie, they have a case full of different ones to choose from that look oh-so yummy. You can't go wrong stopping in here for a light lunch or a sweet bite, and if you're passing through or visiting the area like we were, you'd be remiss not to stop in...and then come back to try more. read more

Visited today and was greeted with a smile by the owner and a clean and tidy place. Outside seating was nice. They have single serve meat and fruit pies and drip coffee that was tasty. Also a nice selection of drinks as well. The Grocery store n Pine has great homemade full size pies so it's nice having single serve ones here. Definitely a nice addition to Strawberry. You drive thru this cute piney area with little cabins, chalets and trinket shops. Just before you leave Strawberry, on the left is this place. The sign above the shop screams PIE at you. So I made the U turn and pulled up. I mean PIES! My son and I walked up and order a full Pecan and a full Coconut cream. When the server pulled out both pies from her cooler, she tells us that they do not make the pies, they are sourced out. I noticed that the coconut cream pie looked like it had been thawed out so I told her that we'd keep the pecan but not the coconut pie. She also said that they are famous for their empanadas that they DO make. I took 5 green chilli pork ones. Disappointed as far as the homemade pie dreams... So I wanted to give a five star review. The small pies that we picked up for lunch were delicious the setting was great service was really good. But what really bothered me as my husband went back in because he wanted to support them and buy a full pie to take home to Mesa. When told what pies they had he decided to get the banana cream pie. Put it in the car in the cooler when we got home I looked at it and that is not homemade basically it's a Saralee food-service pie. Amazing empanadas both savory and sweet! Must try the chimichurri sauce (super spicy). Had it with the ham and egg, picadillo (so tasty) and one that was similar to the chicken pot pie.
