We fed our 48 guests empanadas on the morning of our wedding and the staff could not have been more professional with handling our order. From the days leading up to our wedding until the morning I walked in to pick it up, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Beyond that, the empanadas were amazing. I cannot remember which flavors we got - we both picked two each and shared them - but all of them were so tasty. I'm not a big fan of pie--too much filling and most of the crust is soggy. Which is why Pie Bars Blossoms are the perfect treat. A blossom a fist-size delight of mostly pie crust with a dollop of either apple or berry pie filling in the middle. The crust is folded up over the filling so it looks like a blossom. I had the apple, which was probably the best apple pie filling I've ever had. Lots of delicious crust with just enough filling for each bite. I am still dreaming about them. read more

They have tons of empanada options, including a few meatless ones. As a vegetarian, I really appreciated the selection. I had the bean & cheese, artichoke dip, & mushroom stroganoff and I can't decide which one was my favorite because they were all SO good! The menu lists the flavors in order of popularity and I'm really confused why the mushroom one is last on the list because of how good it was - meat eaters you're missing out on this one!! The empanada dough was the perfect thickness to hold in everything and they were all served piping hot. If I lived in town, I'd be here several times a week! So many people raved about this place, so naturally, I had to try. I went on Friday for lunch. I got the empanada with the potato, beef, cilantro I can't remember what the official name was, but it was pretty tasty, mostly crust, but still pretty good. I also got the Panda empanada, the oreo one, for dessert and the was, well, different. It was not awesome, but it was not bad, it was just 'good'. The wait was not a wait at all, walked up at lunchtime on Friday, ordered my food and before I could get the money out to pay, it was ready. Definitely stop if you are in the area. read more

Wow!! This place is amazing. Staying in Strawberry for a week & couldn't be happier we found this place. We tried a bunch as it was our first time here & each one was yum. My husband had the red Chile beef which he said was great & the mountain man, which is their best seller, that he liked too but said it was very spicy. I had the chicken pot pie which was just perfect. Perfect savory filling in flaky crust. And the green Chile pork which had great flavor but very spicy. Ended up going with the Mountain man empanada with the cilantro lime sauce. Tried it and just had to come back for more the next day and ordered about a dozen for the road! I have to recommend anything with Green Chile in it. They are very delicious and spot on flavor. If you want a daily surprise, order the breakfast empanadas, I think they change it daily and carry two different breakfast empanadas daily. The two days that we stopped by, all four was spot on perfect. But, they do run out of it fast so stop by early. If you missed it, can't go wrong with the others on the menu, I believe we tried almost all of it from the Hungryman to the strawberry empanada for dessert and the whole family loves it. Super cute little restaurant in a tiny town where food options are very limited. This place makes awesome homemade empanadas (yes they count at pies!), has traditional pies (although they do sell out because they're not always available when I've been there) and a nice selection of drinks. There's a cute little patio to sit on and enjoy your food and drinks as well. They are closed on Wednesday and I'm ok with that because even small business owners deserve a day off!
