And great people to add to the service and ambiance. This time we had the (1) Texas Strip steak, amazing baked potato and veggies. And, (2) a beautiful brisket Enchilada plate with a queso sauce on one and a sour cream sauce on the other, with steamed veggies and wild rice. All so very good! I also would like to try basil pesto or vodka sauce but the cream sauce was so insanely good with the pillowy gnocchi that I just don't think I could bear to not get it every time. I definitely would try the sausage meatballs, which my husband got and they were good. The steak meatballs were good but I really like steak-- I think it needs to be your thing. I don't know what happened between visits but he took his bite first, made a face and apologized to us. Then I took a bite. First of all, the truffle flavor was waaaaay too much and tasted artificial (like commercially prepared truffle oil). But the biggest disappointment was the Gnocchi. I would bet a kidney that there was absolutely zero potato in that dense chewy "dumpling " whatsoever. It was hands down the worst Gnocchi I have ever eaten. It tasted and looked like folded over pappardelle with the consistency of super dense pasta. It was so bad my daughter in law asked for something different and I just didn't eat mine. Eventually she got the chicken parm meatball with spaghetti. We all tried a bite. Again, it was okay but I've tasted better at chain restaurants. And I'm Italian so that's saying something. I don't know if we got them on an off day or what but after spending over $200 for 4 people for lunch, none of us will be returning.

The sandwich came out in a few minutes, was freshly made, and was made with care. Everything was well balanced and tasted phenomenal. After living in the New York City for two decades and moving to this area a few years ago, I would say that Dan's is hands down the best bagels I have had since moving here.
