Owned and operated by a true Pie Smith. 9/10 pies do not make it home I'd recommend checking their website or instagram for store hours during holidays and long weekends.

This place rocks for delicious fresh pie! So flavorful and not too sweet. I would highly recommend this spot for anyone who wants delicious pie for crust and flavoring. It's not too sweet either. Get the early gray! So delicious!!

Super delicious! This is my third purchase in one month, and I do not regret every calorie consumed. Thus far, my favorites are the banana black sesame, berry custard, and French silk! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

I've tried pies all over the place--especially in the islands, Fiji, Australia, and New Zealand--so I don't say this lightly: this spot absolutely nailed it and fully satisfied my pie craving. I stopped in and grabbed the chicken bacon pie. The owner mentioned there were only four left, so naturally... I took all four. They were served hot in a box, and wow. The pastry is flaky and buttery, and the filling is rich and creamy--like a chicken pot pie turned up to eleven. Total flavor bomb. You can tell the recipe has been perfected. They also offer a solid variety of sweet pies. I haven't tried those yet, but that's definitely happening soon. The shop is conveniently located right across from Safeway. The inside is clean, there's plenty of seating, and parking is easy. If you're a pie lover (or even just pie-curious), this place is a must-try.

Dessert moment with hand pies

We came to Pie Dreams with our wedding dream: no cake, just pies! And they made our dreams come true! Awesome communication, seamless delivery, incredible selection of pies. We were able to feed our guests with a dessert table featuring 100 hand pies! We chose blueberry lemon and the salted caramel apple, and our guests were raving about it. We were able to freeze them too, so we can celebrate our 1 year anniversary with these delicious hand pies. Thank you so much for making our wedding Pie Dreams come true!

Earl Grey ... I took a bite

It has taken me way too long to try this place! Pretty convenient located in Newark, not far from the freeway. It is in a big shopping center so there is ample parking. Smaller, simpler shop but there is some seating to eat your pie(s) there if desired. I came pretty late in the day (after 3pm) on a weekend and they were sold out of multiple flavors. However I pretty much tried one of everything they had left. I was very impressed with the flavor of the matcha, it was quite true and like a more firm custard in terms of texture (kinda like a pumpkin pie). The Earl Grey was beautiful to look at it and so so strongly tea flavored. I am a big fan but if you like your desserts sweet the EG may not be for you. The coffee chess was a bit of a sleeper for me. Not as impressive to look at but so robust and rich. Do recommend for grabbing a slice!

Key lime

Finally had the opportunity to try Pie Dreams! Arrived around 11am on a Saturday and was able to walk in, choose from a few options and off I went. I already planned on getting a key lime but since I was already there decided on a couple of slices of a unique offering: banana black sesame. Purchased a whole Key lime pie - not too sweet, tart and balanced with a flaky, pastry crust. Usually for this pie I like a graham cracker crust but the pastry was light, flaky and almost seemed like a hybrid of a puff pastry. Banana Black Sesame - unique and picked up slices to share as mom likes anything with a black sesame paste. Bottom layer had caramelized banana set in a sweetened gelatin (vs pudding-like) and a black sesame whipped cream layer. Nutty, banana-y, with subtle sweetness. Family loved it. Service friendly and straightforward. Place is no nonsense, dim and set up for take out but there are a couple of tables if you can't wait to get home. Plenty of shared lot parking and located in the Safeway shopping center (along Jarvis side) Whole pie: $40, slices $8.50 Note: Pricing may vary on flavor

Banana black sesame

Go get their flavor of the month: banana black sesame It's delicious and not too sweet. I've been recommending this pie to everyone the last couple of years and they all love it! I'm already on my second 10" banana black sesame pie this month...and it's only the 7th. If black sesame is not for you, then their French Silk is also delicious! I also highly recommend their caramel apple pie...especially if you heat it up in the oven. The butter crust becomes even more amazing and the gooey apple filling is beyond words. Service is great! Ricky and his wife are friendly, always with a smile and easy going. Store is cute and very clean.

Its a nice little local shop with yummy sweet treats, but im a savory gal myself. So I enjoyed the chicken pot pie. They are sweet and the space is small, but cozy. It would be cool if they did larger pies too, but the pocket pies are scrumptious. Would definitely go again. They were very quick and prompt to get the pasteries. There was a little line when we got there, but it went quick. Parking is a little hard as it large, but shared by many businesses.

Pecan pie
Kimm N.

Bought their pecan pie and frozen pineapple coconut hand pie. The pineapple pie supposed to come with actual pineapple chunk filling with coconut cream. Haven't try yet as you need to bake it at home. As for their pecan pie, love the generous portion of pecans, not too sweet. Only thing I am not a fan of was the pie crust which was hard, thin and flaky and has a hint of savory smell to it (kind of reminded me of the KFC fried chicken coating smell). I prefer the typical crust that you can bite into and crunchy. Since this is a small family mom pop shop (& its hard to find as it co-shared that single storey building with 2 other food chain, I would have expected the owner to be more friendly and helpful in explaining some of their more "ethnicity influenced" pie... instead I received curt and not as friendly attitude from the man who looks like the owner and baker himself. I don't think I'll be back unless their pineapple coconut pie surprises me.

Pie Dreams is located in Newark. I was in line when Ricky opened his doors on Pi Day 2023. His pies were delicious, and his service was excellent. I didn't realize that I had not posted a review, so I'm rectifying that now. In more recent times, I went to pick up a pie for Mother's Day. Although there wasn't the long lines, the pies were selling out. Fortunately for me, I picked up one of the few remaining whole pies. I highly recommend Pie Dreams. Ricky has done a phenomenal job.

Key lime pie

Had their key lime pie and it was tasty. Loved the flaky crust and the lime was a tad too tart for me. But overall it was creamy and yummy.

Cute little family owned shop with delicious pies!! You can buy them by the slice or the whole pie, which is more cost effective but damn that's a lot of pie hahah. They have rotating flavors too, so it's fun to check in and see what they offer on Instagram. One of the kids rung me up, so that was cute. I loved all the pies I've tried, but if I had to rank them, strawberry mango is number 1, then matcha, earl grey, and key lime. Parking isn't hard to find in their lot either! So if I'm around Newark again, I'm definitely getting some more hehe

The cake itself is delicious, but what makes it interesting is the type of fruit they use -- not Medjool or the usual Middle Eastern dates, but jujube (often called Chinese dates). That choice gives the cake a gentle sweetness with a subtle smoky note that sets it apart. Feb 21: For our first visit, we ordered quite a spread: the chocolate mochi bun, honey osmanthus cake, jujube cake, a loaf of chocolate bread (because there's no such thing as too much chocolate), and the pork floss with salted egg bread. The concept behind the pastries was appealing, which explains why we bought so much on our first trip. That said, the execution felt a little uneven. The osmanthus notes in the honey osmanthus cake didn't quite come through, the chocolate bun lacked depth of flavor, and the pork floss with salted egg bread turned slightly burnt even though we followed the heating instructions. Still, we were glad to have discovered the bakery. It's definitely worth a try.

On Thursday at noon, I walked into an empty cafe. One of the two shelves in the refrigerated…read moredisplay were filled. It held more savory items like cold sandwiches and bread with pork floss. I decided on the taro cheesecake. On the counter there were more bread-like products such as matcha loaf and more items with pork floss. I chose the red bean loaf. The red bean loaf was what I expected. It was like many other red bean loaf. The taro cheesecake were bite size. It wasnt sweet or dull. The taro seemed like real taro. It was more of a sandwich than a traditional cheesecake slice. Overall, I could see someone returning for their more savory items. My first impression and experience arent enough to drive myself to be curious for wanting more. P.S. egg tarts are available saturday and sundays

Immediately upon entry, you can see the huge display of neatly arranged donuts, malasadas, and pastries and they all look amazing! So many flavors to choose from that it was a little overwhelming. As others have said, the price point is around $5.50 per piece so have that in mind going in. Ordering was simple enough and servers were kind and patient. Parking is maximum 3 hours and there are some tables and chairs outside to sit and enjoy your goodies. Overall, I think I'm still going to stay loyal to Doughweime in Union City, but these malasadas do live up to the hype. Everything bagel malasada: Surprisingly really good, a light cream cheese filling with everything bagel seasoning on the outside. And the texture of the savory donut was crispy and airy. 9/10 Strawberry cream malasada: Kind of plain, would've been good with strawberry bits inside. 7/10 Biscoff cream malasada: You can taste the real Biscoff crackers in the filling. 7.5/10

I remembered visiting on their very first grand opening a long time ago before the chain expanded to other locations. Good cashier service and pastries are always fully stocked here. Wide varieties of options to choose from. I stopped by for my regular iced cold Tiger boba latte medium size cup for $4.90. Note: my cup looked very small compared to what I'm used to getting. Did the medium sized cups shrink? The lady probably used the wrong cup size, but I'm having a good morning, so not sweating about it. However, I can easily buy beautiful and delicious slices of cakes for around or under $5 each. No lines and no crowds after 10am on a Thursday morning. Staff was helpful at front counter. The place is still much better than other retail spaces. It's a good feeling inside. I'm glad I was able to make another quick stop here. This 85 Degrees C Bakery is definitely the better place.
