Nice little dining area with various tables. I had to take a moment to read the menu before I decided. The counter clerk was very nice and patient as I figured out what I wanted. The experience with him was 4.5 stars, as the 2 stars shown is purely about the food. I ended up ordering a curry chicken katsu bowl with the curry on the side and then a side of the gravy so I could try both. I went and filled up my ridiculously expensive diet coke and found a seat. The cost was $4.50 for a large (?) diet coke. $4.50! Four dollar bills and two quarters! Don't believe me? Check out the receipt picture. That was half the cost of the food. For Diet Coke! OK, enough... The wait was not too long before my name was called. The bowl was pretty small, but they had other options that would certainly get you more food, but this size was good for me at this point. Key points: Chicken Katsu - very thin, so tasted mostly like crunchy batter Curry Sauce - one of my favorite sauces in the world, and this one had zero, none, zilch taste. I was thinking I had covid, since it just tasted like thick water. I tried some soy sauce to prove I could taste and my taster was working OK. Gravy - hard to believe, but this one may have had less taste, or equally no taste. Again, I thought of thick water. Ponzu Sauce or similar - had taste and ended up being my main source of flavor Steam Vegetables - poor guys, they were steamed to oblivion and the taste with them, softly melted in my mouth (and that's not a compliment) Rice - decent, rice cooker rice. I spruced it up with soy and sriracha My fantasy of having some OK Hawaiian food was dashed. Look, it's fast food Hawaiian and even in HI it does not compare to good, hometown spots with GREAT food but it's OK for a quick bite when touring around the Islands. This version did not compare to what I had experienced in Hawaii. I sometimes go back to check consistency and will do the same here. They are still relatively new, so some slack and another visit to check my review score is the right thing to do. Hand Loose. Try in the future. Wish Them Luck!

They have a great outdoor patio that's dog friendly. Friendly greeting when I walked in, and the young man said to grab any table outside. I ordered my go tos, house chow mein, kung pau chicken, bbq pork fried rice, and the sauteed chicken with vegetables. The kung pau was really good, perfect heat. The house chow mein had shrimp, beef, and chicken and those nice thick noodles. The fried rice was delicious! We really liked the sauteed chicken in a brown sauce which had different vegetables than the kung pau. Some places use the same mix in each dish. My parents are old school and they'd always say, if the dishes taste the same, the place is not good. Each dish here had it's own flavor so there is great care in the preparation. The portions are also generous and we took the rest home. The staff was great! So friendly! And it was very pleasant on the patio! Definitely worth checking out! I understand they are under new ownership and I'm glad we visited after this fact. I think we would've been disappointed if it was the previous, judging from the older reviews. We found ourselves stopping by Wingstop located at Gateway Village Plaza. I love their Hot Honey Rub (HHR) flavor! So very addicting at every bite. This dry rub is a combination of honey, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, and ground mustard. Now you know why it is SO GOOD... sweet and spicy all in one! We walked in to order the wings. Ambiance was nice with colorful tables. Both restrooms are right in the same space as the dining area which I find odd. The gentleman who took our order was pleasant and accommodating. Thank you sir! I asked if they still have the 20 wings for $20. They sure did. One 20 for $20 please! I was allowed 3 different flavors, but I wanted all of them in HHR. I have tried their other flavors and nothing compares to their HHR. I am salivating as I'm typing right now LOL. Wait time was about 20+ minutes. They were super busy with walk-in and online orders so it was understandable. They did their best to get the orders out as quickly as possible. Thank you Wingstop! The wings were super hot and delicious. No compliants on the goods. However, I had 3 small gripes. Gripe #1... all 20 wings were placed in one tight box.... they could have separated 10 wings in one small box and another 10 wings in another small box. Gripe #2... there were too many drumettes and not enough wingettes (aka flats). I prefer more of the latter than the former. Gripe #3... some of the drumettes had open parts from the bone to the outside. I prefer my drumettes in fuller form. Hence, 4 stars! We will come back for more HHR wings the next time we're in San Clemente! Don't ever get rid of your HHR!! It's a flavor for life!!!

As a professional dating coach and a full‑time food lover, I take my restaurant scouting very…read moreseriously. My job is to help you avoid the tragic first‑date mistakes I've already made, like the overpriced spots, the bland dishes, the "why is this chair attacking my spine?" seating. I've wasted the time, energy and money on the other loser spots so you don't have to. But when I find a place that's clean, visually appealing, thoughtfully designed, and serving food that's actually seasoned, cooked well, and plated with pride? Oh, I'm shouting it from the rooftops. So let me put you on to my latest discovery: DIHO SIAM, right in the heart of Ladera Ranch. If you've followed me on Yelp for a while, you already know I'm a lifelong Thai‑food fanatic. I've been loyal to Thai cuisine longer than some people stay loyal in relationships. Since I wasn't trying to overeat, I ordered an appetizer, and let me tell you, this "appetizer" came out looking like a BIG FULL-GROWN lunch. I'm not a big white‑meat gal, so I asked if they had anything with dark meat. I ended up with chicken wings and drumsticks in a sweet‑and‑sour sauce. The moment I cut into that chicken? I ascended. The breading had that perfect balance...not too salty, not too bland...crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. I'm not saying I had a foodie‑induced spiritual experience, but if I did, nobody needed to know. One look at the rest of the menu and I knew I'd be back. Yes, I will absolutely make the 45‑minute drive to try their lunch dishes. It's worth it. And the prices? Shockingly reasonable considering the economy is basically held together with duct tape and vibes. Now, my one note for the owners: please, for the love of all things holy and iced... offer a dairy‑free Thai iced tea option. It was 94° today, and I was ready to down two giant glasses, but they only use half‑and‑half. This is California. We are oat‑milk, soy‑milk, almond‑milk, "I'm‑on‑Ozempic‑don't‑judge‑me" people. Give the people what they want. Add oat milk to the menu, put a cute little 4x5 flyer in a clear acrylic stand on each table announcing your new dairy‑free Thai iced tea, and watch customers flock to it. And just to close this out on a high note: I'm 100% coming back to Diho Siam. There are way too many dishes on that menu calling my name, and I fully intend to answer. Consider this my official teaser...I'll be updating my Yelp Elite Squad review after my next visit, and trust me, people wait for those updates like they wait for a second date after a great first one. I might even give you an extra star and make it a Five-Star review! Wink! wink! Stay tuned, because this place has officially earned a spot on my "must‑return" list. And don't forget to give me a thumbs up or a heart if you like my reviews and follow me!

We started with the glass noodle soup, which was like slightly flavored water. Barely even a broth. We couldn't finish it. We ordered the appetizer platter that has a bunch of fun fried things. The samosa type thing was so hard that I had to spit it out. The rest was just ok. We ordered our favorite dishes, crying tiger and pad see ew (combo meat & shrimp). We couldn't even eat the crying tiger, it was the worst quality meat and seasoned poorly. I'd rather eat a bag of beef jerky from the gas station for dinner than this. The pad see ew was oddly chewy. The meat was very cheap and unseasoned as well. I ended up primarily eating the white rice which was also overly mushy, but at least edible. If we ate in I would've complained & most likely walked out (which I literally have never done), but, alas, we did takeout. Never again. My newborn who eats straight up baby food mush eats better cuisine than this. There is better Thai food around here, this was a HUGE disappointment.
