    Broken mirror
    Brianna J.

FRICKING AWESOME!! It was worth the drive to go to this junkyard. After a hit and run driver had taken off my passenger side mirror, i called the stealership for prices. It was $200 plus a week wait. Ebray wanted $129 plus shipping for a knockoff from chinnieland. I checked the pickhpull website and found my mirror in Moss Landing. A little bit of a drive on a sunny Sunday morning got me my mirror for $21.27 plus $2.00 admission. The employess were very friendly and almost no lines or waiting. Found my vehicle quickly and we removed the mirror without any problems. On the way back i stopped at a local produce stand and bought a lot of fruit for very cheap also. All in all i would say it was a winning day for me.

Look at the end of the road to see the slough.

They offered me $90 for a running 2004 VW Beetle. What a rip-off. These people should be wearing ski masks.

There was no answer but I left a message praying that I could at least have it towed there. Miguel called back 20 minutes later as he was closing his shop. He asked for my part and truck model and got on the task right away. In one hour he was at my truck with a grin and stories. He was patient, clean, and friendly. We pulled into Castroville and stopped at NAPA Auto Parts (11501 Merritt St, Castroville, CA) to ask about finding someone to look at the van. We were directed to Uribe's. Miguel, the owner happened to be there working on his son's vehicle. He put the van up on the rack, inspected the brakes and found both front calipers were corroded. This was due to many visits to the Black Rock Desert and exposure to it's alkaline soil. The passenger side had frozen completely by the time we arrived and the driver side was close to failing as well. Miguel called several places and found the needed parts (in spite of being late on a Saturday afternoon of the Holiday weekend). He removed the old calipers, turned the rotors, replaced the pads, bled the brake system, test drove the vehicle and had us back on the road; all within about 3 hours. His rate was reasonable and work top notch. He could have easily overcharged us but chose not to. I am grateful to Miguel and highly recommend this shop.

Jose and His Team Saved Me From Costly Repairs!…read more When my trusty 2002 Ford F150 Lariat started acting up, I was at a loss. It had been running smoothly until a few fuses blew. I thought I could handle it on my own, so we replaced them at home the next day. However, despite my best efforts, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was seriously wrong with the transmission. I could have sworn someone had tampered with it; it felt like the whole thing was about to give out. Confused and a bit panicked, I turned to my brother for advice. Without hesitation, he recommended Jose, proclaiming, "Jose is an honest man; he'll do right by you." Given my brother's track record for quality recommendations, I decided to take his word for it and got my truck towed from Hollister to Castroville. (Stay tuned for my next review on that experience!) I dropped off the truck at Jose's shop on a Monday morning at 9:15 AM, shortly after the shop opened at 8 AM. When I arrived, I was immediately struck by how busy he was. There were three cars already on lifts, a customer at his desk, and another on the phone. Despite the chaos, Jose was on top of everything; he walked out to greet us while still talking on the phone, listening closely to my account of the issues I had encountered. As I recounted the sequence of events--from the pre-fuse change symptoms to the post-fuse change rollercoaster ride that felt like my transmission was in freefall--Jose's attention never wavered. He took note of every detail. After a thorough diagnostic, Jose identified one additional faulty fuse that had escaped my notice. He promptly replaced it and cleared out the bad codes, which was part of the repair and inspection process. What impressed me most was not just his efficiency but his commitment to transparency. Jose took the time to explain ensuring that I understood what was going on with my truck. Thanks to Jose and his team, I dodged what could have been a costly repair. I left his shop feeling relieved and grateful. Jose truly lives up to my brother's recommendation; he is indeed an honest man who does right by his customers. I highly recommend his services to anyone facing car troubles--trust me, you won't regret it!
