Sauce was very watery and no flavor. Veal parm was good but it was paired with penne which I thought should have it been with spaghetti but I guess it depends on people's preference. I finally found the sauce my Aunt used to serve at her Italian restaurant in Flatbush, Brooklyn in the 70s! Perfect perfect sauce! Perfect perfect meatballs. The food was piping hot and still warm even after we drove home with leftovers. The leftovers were warm! The bread on the table was so light and soft on the inside and crispy on the outside- they said it's the same dough as the pizza- the pizza looked fantastic. They had the classics plus some very interesting pies. The meatballs were so incredibly tender and the taste was so delicate- not too garlicky or salty, just perfect. Yup rated best meatball! The beer was so cold it exploded when the waiter opened it, he got me a new one just as frosty. The people that own this gem are so sweet and welcoming and the staff are so on point. We took out food from this wonderful small pizzeria/restaurant during COVID and enjoyed the meal, but that was the first and last time we did. Nothing to do with the quality of the food, but we do not live very close to this establishment. My wife and I were looking for a place to go and have a dinner out and we remembered about Piccolo Sogno. What a great decision we made! The back area of the pizzeria has a quaint old world charm, bringing us back to restaurants we frequented in our earlier years. We were greeted in a very hospitable way! The menu had many excellent choices, so many that it was hard to select just one! My wife and I decided to share a pasta dish, which was excellent and we each ordered an entree. The food was abundant and very tasty! I ordered the shrimp francese and they were amazing 6-7 jumbo shrimp, super-fresh and cooked to perfection. We have been come here more than a few times and found the food to be very good... however came last weekend .. place was busy .. ok.. but.. we ordered pasta with broccoli rabe and the pasta (cavatelli) was cooked to the point of mush.. hardly any broccoli rabe: a few greens .. no flowers... upon leaving we mentioned to the owner who did not (as he should have) apologized .. instead he tells us next time "to tell them cook al dente ... ok .. what... ? Piccolo Sogno is a quaint little Italian restaurant in the Auburndale area of Queens. We have picked up meals from her numerous times since we moved to this part of Queens earlier this year. There hasn't been a single time when the food wasn't ready on time, or wasn't piping hot, or where the staff weren't friendly and appreciative. They have been consistent in every area, and we love that about them. While they have an expansive menu, we have only ordered their pizzas to date. The pies are always light yet satisfying, tasty, and made with quality ingredients. The interior is quaint, so we look forward to a dine-in experience soon and trying out some of their tempting Italian dishes. Pricing is good for the quality and authenticity you get. Parking is available on the street, and they're not located on a busy thoroughfare or in a large strip of stores, so you generally find parking fairly close by. This "little dream" tucked away in the residential streets of Auburndale was a fantastic recent discovery of mine. Of course, I feel late to the party considering it has been here for over a decade, and watching the string of customers in the know stop in on a busy Saturday afternoon. I was originally coming here because I saw they have a fantastic outdoor seating area in the back (Not in the front like most places have since COVID where you get to feel like you are eating in an open air tractor trailer). Unfortunately they had a party going on when I stopped so had to sit in their comfortable indoor section (Call ahead to check this if you want outdoor) Service was attentive, but a little "green". I suspected our server was a bit new since he wasnt familiar with the menu and he also brought out a bowl of the toppings for our pizza instead of bring it to the pizza ovens in front. Honestly this has been my experience in most places lately and it seems good help is hard to find. Even here they state they are closed Monday and Tuesday now due to lack of workers. Despite this the staff was friendly and checked in often. The food I found reasonable priced and top notch with selections not typically found in a neighborhood Italian/pizzeria spot. I was craving a pizza and the Tre Gioielli caught my eye because I don't typically find fried calamari, zucchini and shrimp on top of a pie. This worked great as an app actually - the pizza was a well made Margherita pie and there was a ton of toppings that actually tasted great on their own instead of as an incorporated slice. Grigliata di Insalata e Formaggio was awesome - I love a great grilled salad and this is one of them. The thick slab of provolone was also warmed it was really tasty (thought this was polenta for a sec haha). Linguine al Nero di Seppia Salmone Pesto is one of their pricier pasta dishes but worth it with generous amount of salmon and delicious black squid linguine. Can't wait to come back to check out the outdoor dining or for more of the delicious menu. Placed an online order via a third party application on Mother's Day. Pick up time stated around 25-30 minutes via email confirmation and as that is about the approximate distance from my house, I began my drive over. As I got there, I mentioned the pick up name for the order and they said they had nothing in their system and would check. I get another email saying that my order will be ready in an hour from now. They never accepted the order and I was forced to cancel. Claimed it was an issue with their computer. Just be honest with customers and say it was a mistake and you guys didn't accept it. We checked out this restaurant based on a neighbors recommendation, so 4 of us went. Street parking was easy and fast in a residential area. We were greeted by the owner/chef -Mauricio who made us feel very welcome . Waiters , staff and owner was very attentive to our needs . Food was delicious . We didn't walk away stuffed or brought back any leftovers, so my comment was the portions were not large and I thought for a local restaurant, the prices were a bit high. Eastern Queens is hit and miss when it comes to Italian food. A residential street on 47th Avenue in Auburndale is not the place I expected to find possibly the best Italian food in the area. It's a small restaurant with a pizza counter in the front but don't be fooled, the food here is top notch. The pizza here is tasty but their main dishes are really where its at. The chicken marsala was delicious as was their pasta. The fruiti di mare was also excellent. Perhaps the best part is the vibe - it's family run and super friendly. The owners come and greet you and make sure you're having a good time. Prices are reasonable and staff is friendly. Parking shouldn't be too hard to find but walking is probably out of the question unless you live in the area. Most definitely recommended especially if you're looking for Italian in the Auburndale area. read more

Ordered delivery from Piccolo Sogono and I'll start by saying the size of the portions is insane - one meal will probably last two or even three. So right off the bat, definitely a great value. We had a margherita pizza to start, with entrees of chicken parm with penne with garlic and oil, and penne a la vodka with fried eggplant. The food was serviceable - nothing to write home about, but also not unsatisfying, hence the rating of 3/5 stars for a slightly better than average restaurant. Surprisingly wonderful! I was impressed with the sausage and onion pie, it's very different and better than other pizzeria styles. They didn't slice the sausages, they kind of ripped and it after it's baked it's nice and crispy. the onions are also super thin and long the way they cut it! we were obsessed. New favorite white pizza place! At first my family was confused why there was no sauce and asked why there was chinese broccoli on the pizza...doesn't matter because it tastes great! This is quality pizza people! The mozzarella is stringy but doesn't slide off. The meat is marinated well and the crust is not thick. The pie itself is not too doughy. I like my pizza flat but not crunchy/thin crust pizza. If it wasn't for covid, I would like to come in to try their Italian dishes but for now I'll stick to getting the pizza for take out. Usually the pizza takes 40 minutes during dinner time so you have to call early or you'll risk being hungry for a slice of this fresh pizza. The restaurant books private catered events on some nights so they are closed to the public, sadly. If their phone line does not work and their website is down, that is probably the reason why. read more

We still have food on the table and as my friend was still eating, this bald lady came to our table and asked if she can take away the dishes. We were like what??? I mean I understand they want to go home and it was close to 9 o'clock but man we all felt like they were really rushing us to eat.. now on to the food.. nothing really special about the food.. meatball tasted like frozen meatball. I really did like their salad a lot with strawberry dressing. We ordered 7 dishes including appetizers and non of the dishes were really exceptionally good. And French fry wasn't even fully cooked. Piccolo Sogno is the definition of a hidden gem. I had such a wonderful dinner here this past weekend, the best I've had dining out in quite a while. From the attentive staff to the extensive menu, it just kept getting better and better. We started with a cold antipasto appetizer, it was filled with fresh meats and cheese, and a surprise, some marinated artichoke. The Caesar salad I had with my meal was to die for. My main course, a fish in a Francese sauce, was delicious and was quite the generous portion. Although I rarely get dessert, I had to try the lemon sorbet because it was served in an actual lemon, lol, and I love a good gimmick:) Nice outdoor area that I didn't utilize because it was 100 degrees outside.
