Sweet Potato Taiyaki (1Piece) Batata 고구마 붕어빵(1마리)
Lily L.

I love this place during a nice and cold day. Their croissant taiyaki are to die for and because the warm filling is embedded inside of this buttery flaky pastry, it keeps the heat trapped inside. My all time favorite is the sweet potato croissant taiyaki which I also ordered this time around. Usually I order it with a Nutella croissant taiyaki which already if you're a Nutella fan should make your mouth water. This time, I tried the mochi taiyaki and it was also sooo delicious! The exterior is still the same butter Trish exterior and the interior was packed with sticky mochi and red bean. Regardless of what type of filling you want to try, definitely try their taiyaki if you are around this area. They have indoor seating. I always grab it to go which is why I love how warm and comforting this snack is!

An okay dessert spot, the bingsu here looks pretty good but didnt try, the taiyaki was decent and the waffle with red bean and ice cream was okay as well, the only thing that felt really subpar was their name sake item the walnut pastry the cocohodo as the item was just a walnut bread, nothing special. With all the dessert spots along the area this place being just okay, unfortunately just doesn't cut it

I mapped a few dessert spots near When In Bangkok, where my good friend Jane and I had lunch earlier. Cocohodo had been on my Yelp bookmarks forever, and I finally got to try it. The ambiance was perfect for our dessert date. Drink Jane: Cafe Latte (Hot) Dessert Jane: Chocolate Ice Cream Croissant Taiyaki Me: Vanilla Ice Cream Croissant Taiyaki I had never heard of croissant taiyaki, but it sounded unique. We ordered one with chocolate filling and another with vanilla. The croissant taiyaki was crispy and flaky. Bookmark this spot to try!

I came here on a Sunday night to get their croissant taiyaki and it was still quite packed. I got their sweet potato flavor and red bean flavor and really enjoyed it! I don't think I've had something like this previously so I was glad to try this on their menu!

Mango Pingsu

I ordered a Mango and Oreo Pingsu. They were both good but my favorite was the mango! The Mango Pingsu was so refreshing and the mango's were so sweet and fresh. The vanilla ice cream and mochi was divine. I think I also tasted coconut! I felt like I was eating dessert on a tropical island. It was busy on Sunday afternoon but luckily my daughter and I found a seat for 2. The service was ok, the workers did what they were supposed to do and made our food and helped us when we needed it. Efficient service. The place was small and jam packed with families and couples.

Absolute 5 stars just for the mochi bungeoppang (taiyaki). This was everything I love in one pastry: bungeoppang, croissants, and mochi. The outer part was made out of croissant dough and baked so perfectly crisp. They're also not stingy at all with the filling, and the one thing I was worried about when ordering this was that it was actually red bean mochi (I am not a fan of red bean) but I actually didn't mind since it was a red bean paste and complimented the rest of the pastry very well. The shaved ice we ordered were good as well but definitely not the star of (my) show.

Coco Original Mochi Waffle Very Berry Yogurt Shaved Ice

Desserts were nice to look at, but the fruit on the shaved ice tasted like it was frozen - which is very noticeable, especially for an item that's called Very Berry. The mochi waffle was a bit tastier, but the portion was kind of small. Overall a nice casual space for dessert, but I would probably go for other places in Flushing.

Sweet Potato Taiyaki (2 Piece) 고구마 붕어빵(1마리) and waffle icecream

The fish dessert with sweet potato is sooooo good. I will definitely go back for that. It's best eaten when served at the restaurant since it'll be fresh and crispy. The waffle and ice cream was quite good too. Seats at first come first serve and the workers were nice!

Very berry bingsoo

Their Very Berry Yogurt Shaved Ice was really refreshing, and I like how their shaved ice comes in metal bowls, which prevents it from melting too quickly. It seemed like there were some sugar crystals, maybe from the yogurt power and/or condensed milk, but it wasn't overly sweet. Would definitely come back to reorder this or try some of their other flavors. The only thing I don't like is how they only provide plastic cutlery.

We stopped here for dessert after dinner nearby and it's a cute little bakery with seating. They offer a range of bread, pastries and shaved ice along with drinks. We opted for an order of mango bingsoo with extra condensed milk (I forgot it had already come with it). The dessert was huge and justified the price, more than enough to share between 2 people. The space is on the smaller side but does have some seating along the wall to sit down and enjoy your dessert. There is no shortage of good bakeries in this area but I would recommend this spot to satisfy an occasional sweet tooth.

We got the Coco Original Mochi Waffle and Red bean taiyaki! Both dishes came out freshly made. I loved the how crispy the exterior was for the red bean taiyaki. It also came with a lot of filling! The Coco Original Mochi Waffle was covered in walnuts, almonds, and soybean powder. I loved how chewy the waffle was! This place has a lot of seating for those who want to enjoy their food when it's nice and warm! It's a great spot for a quick snack with friends or a date.

Mochi and Red Bean Taiyaki

The croissant style taiyaki was my favorite dessert from Cocohodo! I shared the red bean mochi flavor with my friend and the idea of using a croissant for the taiyaki casing is absolute genius! It was buttery, yet sweet with a great crispy edge. For the shaved ice I tried the mango version and thought it was pretty standard. The ratio of milk ice to toppings was just right, and the mangoes weren't sour at all. Unfortunately the grape-ade sparkling drink was a miss for me. I didn't particularly enjoy the grape syrup they used. The picture I took was prior to mixing it up but I also felt as though the flavor fell flat. Overall, I'd recommend trying the taiyaki if you're craving a warm, sweet treat!

Cocohodo is a clean, aesthetically pleasing little place. You can order easily on the kiosk, and they'll call your name and number when it is ready. My friend and I loved the shaved ice, especially the little mochi balls on it. The sweet potato cream cheese croissant taiyaki was good, but I think next time we'd forego the cream cheese.

It was filled with people working/studying and small groups of people just relaxing and catching up with their friends. I tried their new portobello sandwich. It had arugula and pesto. Because of this reason and because their desserts are always great, I find myself coming back again and again! This time I got the mango bingsoo and the cookie butter croffle which were both delicious! Their bingsoo is always so fluffy which I really like and the mango flavor is super strong as well so it doesn't feel like I'm having plain bingsoo once I get to the middle. The croffles from here are always sooo good. They're so chewy and warm which was super comforting for the cold weather that has been going on recently. This place is self service so the only interaction you have with the staff is when ordering. They are always super patient and helpful. The cute cafe has quite a bit of seats as well but because it is pretty popular around the area, it does fill up quite quickly.

I came on a weekday night with my friends after dinner and there were no guests sitting or ordering. They have a kiosk for you to order from by yourself but it is set very high so it may be out of reach for some people. When I tried to order with the cashier at the counter, I was not greeted with a hello or a smile. The lady would give me one word responses and not accommodate me in any way. I've been wanting to try their shaved ice specially the Thai Tea series so I was pleasantly surprised that they still have it. I ordered the Thai Tea Shaved Ice in the medium size and it was about $20~. This was the smaller size out of the two, but even so it is meant for at least two people. It comes with toppings such as pudding, boba, mochi, sago, scoop of vanilla Ice-Cream, and coconut flakes. I had no idea it came with coconut flakes as that's a big no-no for me. I'm also not a fan of boba, mochi, or sago but the lady said they are irreplaceble. I really wanted grass jelly but I did not want to pay an additional cost when there are so many toppings already in the bowl I cannot finish. The pudding and vanilla Ice-Cream are good and elevates the whole dessert platter, but the ice melts pretty quickly when it's just one person eating it. I wished they have a small size for a cheaper price for people who just wants to eat alone because it's crazy that my dessert is more expensive than my dinner! Also, I wished the employees were more accommodating with the toppings. It was a decent experience overall as the place is very spacious and comfortable. My friends and I enjoyed our desserts and catching up with each other. There is no restroom inside the dessert shop. You have to walk out to the shared one with the whole mall next to the food court.

Went with friends and ordered the following: - ube & taro paste signature - thai tea shaved ice - thai tea tofu pudding (+$1 each for sago and lychee jelly topping) Desserts were tasty but the prices were hard to justify - especially $20+ for the shaved ice. Every topping you add is +$1 which can rack up your dessert total pretty quickly (fyi, the thai tea tofu pudding will only just be pudding and ice for $10 if you don't add anything. Also presentation wise, the pudding wasn't the best) Overall, I think it's pricey for what you're getting but if you're a fan of ube and/or shaved ice desserts, this would be a spot to hit up!

But, this spot hides a really cozy space to enjoy some desserts with friends. Service here is pretty quick, and kind. I got their soy milk shaved ice and it was so good. Not only are they opened later than a lot of dessert places that I have found in flushing but their desserts are also great! This time around my friends and I got the Fresh Coconut Pudding with Golden Crisp Rice and it did not disappoint. Firstly, the pudding in itself was not overly sweet but had a strong coconut flavor. The texture was perfect in the sense that the pudding wasn't too hard inside and the golden rice crisp was a delicious finish on top. It added a nice crunch to the bite and also gave like a toasted coconut feel when tasted together with the pudding. The second thing we got was like a durian mango sago. I am a big fan of durian so I really enjoyed this dessert. The durian was perfectly sweet and custard and the mangos were sweet but tangy giving the dessert a little more depth. Although I only got two desserts this time around, I do want to point out that their shaved ice is not something that you should miss out on either. I have had many of the flavors and have never been disappointed. It is super fluffy and milky and just melts as soon as it hits your tongue. It is something that I order majority of the time that I dine in (they have a big variety so I just switch it up). The experience at this dessert shop is always great and since they have a call button for whenever you need a server, it feels a little more intimate and private!

We stopped by the mall they're located within specifically to visit them, and I found the experience to be wonderful! First off, ordering at the kiosks was extremely easy, and despite the large amount of people, they had our drinks that had been ordered ready in no time at all! My Matcha Latte with Sakura Foam was absolutely perfect in the sense that it was subtly sweet with nothing being too overpowering - I loved the slight fruity hints and the great quality to the matcha. My partner wanted the soft serve Matcha, which he found to be thoroughly enjoyable. It's in a mall, but the venue itself is very clean and easy to access.
